My sister and I, twin spirit foxes, were both sent to the Dragon Clan for a political marriage alliance. The Dragon Clan's crown prince was immediately taken with me, a mystical creature with five tails, symbolizing enhanced power and status, while my sister was forced to marry the less favored second prince. Later, I gave birth to a frail black dragon for the crown prince, whereas my sister bore the second prince the most noble of golden dragons. This earned the second prince the Dragon King's favor, akin to winning royal approval, making him the heir to the throne. The crown prince resented me for ruining his prospects. Seizing an unguarded moment, he shattered my spiritual essence with a single blow. "If it weren't for your deceptive sorcery, the throne should have been mine. You've tainted my royal bloodline." When I opened my eyes again, I found myself back on the day we were sent to the Dragon Clan for the alliance.

Chapter 1

My sister and I are twin spirit foxes, sent together to the dragon clan for a political marriage.

The eldest prince of the dragon clan, upon seeing me, chose me as his bride because I am a five-tailed spirit fox, while my sister was forced to marry the less favored second prince.

Later, I gave birth to a frail black dragon for the eldest prince, while my sister bore the second prince the most noble of golden dragons.

Because of this, the second prince gained the Dragon King's favor and became the heir to the dragon clan.

The eldest prince despised me for ruining his future, and when I least expected it, he shattered my spiritual essence with a single strike.

"If it weren't for your sorcery, the Dragon King's throne should have been mine. You compromised my noble lineage."

When I opened my eyes again, I found myself returned to the very day we were sent to the dragon clan for marriage.

My sister and I were twin spirit foxes.

In our previous life, to enhance the power of the next heir, the dragon clan sent envoys to the fox clan to seek marriage alliances.

As the most talented spirit foxes, my sister and I were sent to the dragon clan for this purpose.

In the grand hall of the dragon clan, the envoys brought spiritual pearls to awaken our spiritual essence and reveal our true forms.

My sister was the first to touch the pearl, and a dazzling white light burst forth, revealing her true form as a three-tailed spirit fox.

The dragon clan was amazed, as three-tailed spirit foxes had become rare since the nine-tailed foxes went into seclusion.

The dragon clan's most favored prince, Brody, upon witnessing this, intended to make my sister his chief bride.

However, when my hand touched the spirit stone, a rainbow glow enveloped the entire dragon palace, and five giant tails unfurled behind me, causing a stir among the guests.

Brody abandoned his interest in my sister and chose to marry me, while my sister was forced to marry the less favored second prince, Dominic.

Shortly after our marriage, I gave birth to Brody's frail black dragon, whereas my sister, a three-tailed spirit fox, astonishingly gave birth to Dominic's rare golden dragon.

The Dragon King was overjoyed and favored Dominic even more, officially naming him the heir to the dragon clan.

Brody was filled with hatred towards me, and while I was still recovering, he cruelly shattered my spiritual essence with a single blow.

The excruciating pain spread through my body, and I questioned Brody's ruthlessness.

Brody looked at me coldly, his voice icy: "If you hadn't bewitched me, it would have been me and Julian giving birth to the golden dragon and inheriting the throne. You compromised my noble lineage."

As I was losing consciousness, Brody lifted the black dragon baby I'd given my life to bear and violently smashed it to the ground.

In an instant, the once frail little black dragon lay lifeless on the ground.

Overwhelmed by hatred, tears of blood streamed down my face as I screamed for Brody's destruction.

Yet when I opened my eyes again, I found myself back on the day of the marriage alliance.

"Father, I wish to choose Julian as my chief bride."

At that moment, the glow illuminated the entire dragon palace, and my five tails were fully displayed before everyone.

I clearly saw the hatred in Brody's eyes when he looked at me and the eagerness when he looked at my sister, and I realized he too had been reborn.

Brody believed that by choosing my sister, he could father the noble golden dragon and become the next heir to the dragon clan.

But what he didn't know was that his maternal lineage was that of the lowliest black serpent, and having a dragon child with my help was already my greatest effort for him.

Everyone was shocked to hear Brody forsake the most gifted five-tailed spirit fox in favor of the slightly lesser three-tailed spirit fox, even the old Dragon King frowned at this.

"Brody, this concerns the future of our dragon clan. Do not be reckless."

Even though the Dragon King was inclined to favor Brody, Brody stubbornly insisted, coldly replying, "Father, although Julie is a five-tailed spirit fox, it doesn't guarantee she will birth the best dragon offspring. I ask for your blessing for my marriage with Julian."

"As for Julie, I believe she is a perfect match for my second brother."

Seeing Brody's determination, the Dragon King slammed his scepter to the ground in frustration but ultimately agreed to Brody's request, leaving in annoyance without even tasting the heavenly fruit.

Julian, who had been envious of my five-tailed form, was unexpectedly chosen by Brody, and her expression turned from contorted to somewhat smug.

"Thank you, Your Highness, for not minding my three tails. As for my sister, it's a pity to waste such a rare talent."

Julian leaned toward Brody, her tone full of pride.

Brody embraced Julian, looking at me with disdain.

"So what if you have five tails? It's merely an illusion to charm others. Only those who bear noble dragon offspring are worthy of being my empress."

"Lucien, let's get a divorce," I said in a peremptory tone that was long overdue, the most decisive farewell to this absurd marriage. We had been married for exactly three years-three years that, for me, were filled with nothing but endless loneliness and torment. For three years, the husband who should have stood by my side through every storm, Lucien Sullivan, had completely disappeared from my life as if he had never existed. He vanished without a trace, leaving me alone to endure this empty, desolate marriage. Today, I finally received his message: "I'm back. Come pick me up at the airport." When I read his words, my heart leapt with joy, and I raced to the airport, thinking that he finally understood my love and was coming back to me. But his cruelty was far worse than I could have ever imagined-he was accompanied by a pregnant woman, and that woman was Carla, my closest and most trusted friend. In that moment, all of my previous excitement, all my hope, and all of our shared laughter and tears turned into the sharpest of daggers, stabbing into my heart and leaving me gasping for air. Now, all I want is to escape from this place that has left me so broken-to lick my wounds in solitude. Even if these wounds will remain with me for the rest of my life, I refuse to have anything to do with him ever again. He should know that it was his own hand that trampled our love underfoot, that his coldness and betrayal created this irreparable situation. But when he heard those words, he desperately clung to this broken, crumbling marriage, unwilling to let it end-almost as though doing so could rewind time and return everything to how it used to be. "Aurora, come back. I regret everything!" Regret? Those simple words stirred no emotion in me-only endless sadness and fury. My heart let out a frantic, desperate scream: It's too late for any of this!
