GLORIA'S POV
I readjusted my silk, curvy dress, for the hundredth time, beaming happily, a smile dancing on my lips.
He was finally coming back today and I couldn't wait to see him, nor could I wait to fly into his arms.
'I have missed them so much.' I thought as I heard the car horn, followed by the gate opening.
I immediately dashed out of my room, down the stairs to the front door, to welcome him, with a warm, homely embrace but as the door flew open, my arms spread out, I was taken aback by what I saw instead.
'My husband, was with her again?' I panicked, my heart skipping a beat. I thought she had left for good, abandoned him.
'I mean it was why he had been nice to me all these years right?' I pondered, biting on my lower lips hard enough to draw blood.
I only did that when I was super nervous, and that I was, my hands were even growing sweaty, and trembling at the same time.
The lady in question was everything I dreamed to be.
Long, auburn hair, strange, piercing auburn eyes that gave her an innocent look and would surely make guys want to swoon over her, seductive, cherry red lips, and an extremely, curvy, sexy figure which made her look like a supermodel.
My husband and this lady were still caught in one another's charm and had not noticed me yet.
This scratched my heart, but I still hold my facade and let out a low groan, distracting them.
My husband turned to glare at me, his eyes darkening and fixated intently on me as he shot daggers at me, his jaw clenching in displeasure.
"Can't you see I am busy? You are ruining something important."
He snarled, his nostrils flaring and that made me take a step back in disbelief.
'She was more important than me now?' Tears formed at the brim of my eyes lids at the mere thought of that and Kelvin just rolled his eyes, not giving a damn.
"She always have been, you fool." The little voice in my head whispered to me."Being a cry-baby as always at any slightest word."
He commented nonchalantly, his hands moving to her hair, and stroking it lovely.
A gesture I never got the chance to enjoy despite being married to him for more than a year now.
"Don't be harsh Kelvin, she probably thought I had gone forever."
The lady in his arms, scolded, forming a pitiful expression but I knew it was all fake.
I knew Lady Malia so well, she couldn't fool me.
Kelvin didn't seem to care and as she spoke, his attention focused on her entirely.
His gaze lingering on her, his eyes sparkling with a warmth, that was noticeable whenever he looked at her.
My eyes dropped, my shoulders slumped in a subtle defeat, as my expression crumbled for an instant before I hurriedly masked it with a forced smile.
"Welcome home darling, how was your trip?" I enquired like a caring wife, trying not to be affected by all the lovey-dovey scenario in front of me.
His smile dropped at my words, his expression strained with a mix of annoyance and frustration.
"Why the hell can't you stop interrupting?" He yelled at me, furiously, fury blazing in his eyes and I jumped backward, startled, the tears I was holding in gushing out of my eyes.
He walked in with her, holding her gently and tenderly.
As he closed the door with a snap. She shivered and he immediately turned to look at her with concern, coaxing her and apologizing for scaring her, not giving a damn about me, who was beyond broken by all of these.
I was still super confused about everything but dared not to ask anything.
Provoking him was the last thing I needed now.
After minutes, he finally turned to look at me, bale evident in his eyes.
"I need a divorce."
He began and flung a paper I didn't even notice he was holding at me harshly.
The paper hit me on my face aggressively, the pin holding it giving me a tear on my cheek, but I didn't care about that nor the pain.
I was still trying to sink his words into me. He needed a divorce? Why, what did I do wrong? No answers came then I realized I never asked out loud."W-w-why?" I stuttered, shedding tears now, dropping all my forced strength and showing my weakness.
I saw her hide a grin, before snacking deeper into his arms, and the agony of it all was he allowed her."Isn't it obvious, you damn fool?" He cursed, his face tightening.
"I have found her so I no longer need you. You were only a substitute anyways."
He added and I felt my world crashing down on me, my legs wobbled and I dropped to the floor weakly.
His words felt like a sword was piercing my heart, leaving me gasping for air as it felt like my very, own soul was being torn apart.
My eyes felt like, they were being drowned in a sea of tears, my vision blurring. My mind raced with disbelief as I struggled to come to terms with what he wanted.
'No, no, no'.
Not after everything I gave up to be with him.
"Sign the papers."
He ordered but I refused, looking at him in the eyes to witness the complete hatred he had for me in it.
That just made me cry more.
"Get out of my house and without a cent of mine, nor anything I might have bought for you with my money."
He told me and I instantly threw myself to his feet, not caring she nor the servants were around.
"Please."
I pleaded, tears streaming down my eyes as I held on to his leg, begging for mercy.
"Whatever it is I did, forgive me or punish me as you see fit, but do not send me away" I begged like a slave, not caring if I was humiliating myself, but all I got was a deep, cackle.
"How pathetic."
He scoffed while she laughed but I didn't mind.
He was paying for my brother's treatment, I couldn't afford to lose that.
"Get the hell away from me."
He shouted as he kicked me on my chest and I fell backwards, my head hitting the staircase hard as I saw stars.
My head felt heavy, painful like a hammer was hit on it as I felt a thick, wet liquid forming, my vision growing blurry as memories took me back to how it all started.
