Chapter 1 ONE

"What took you so long to open the door?" A thick baritone voice snapped.

The chauffeur pulled the doorknob, carefully revealing the tall and handsome man who had spoken.

His lips pressed together as he sat still. His eyes; fierce...daunting.

"I'm sorry sir.." The words traced from the chauffeur's lips with his hands clasped to his side.

The car had parked in front of the large and sophisticated hotel owned by Martin Roberts, the youngest and wealthiest billionaire.

He arranged his tuxedo suit as he walked into the building, his shades sitting pretty on his face.

"Good evening sir!!" The receptionist's voice reached his ears as he sauntered in.

He ignored her like a plague, his head held upright.

Greetings poured in from every angle, commanding great respect with every step he took. Well, he was Martin's Roberts and had just arrived in Vegas for the party that night.

"It's nice having you here, Mr. Martins.." a middle-aged woman walked up to him, grinning from ear to ear.

Martins smiled, accepting her outstretched hand. "I must commend the organizers of tonight's party.."

He had barely completed the words when someone bumped into him. His phone fell to the floor with a loud thud.

Stunned and taken aback, he slid his gaze onto the culprit. "Have you no manners, or are your eyes only for fancy?"

A young lady of about twenty years stood beside him, her eyes flickering incessantly. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hit you."

"You didn't mean to hit me?" The words trailed out of his lips. They were much more tender this time.

She ogled hard at him, muttered some incoherent words, and dashed off.

Martins was shocked.

Never in his entire life had anyone acted so unruly to him. His eyes remained on her until she vanished into thin air.

"Have you any idea who she is?"

The woman shook her head. "No sir, I do not."

Martin's lips remained pressed together. "I need you to gather every information you can about her.."

Confused, she nodded her head. "Alright, sir. I'll get to it at once."

Jasmine stood still as tears trickled down her face.

After rushing out to pick a call from the hospital where her mother was, she now found it difficult to return to the hall.

"Your mother needs the surgery right away, else she's going to die," the doctor's words uttered seconds ago, rang in her ears.

Her mother was all she had. She couldn't watch her die, no matter what.

Two million, and all she had gathered was a quarter of the amount. A full-blown month of working her soul out only to gather that?

Life- It had absolutely no meaning to her anymore. She kept pushing with the hope that things would get better.

"Jasmine!!" She heard someone call her name from the blues. Quickly, she dabbed her face with her hand and adjusted herself.

A young man walked up to her. His brows creased a bit. "Why do you look like you've been crying?'

He was her supervisor.

"Crying? Nah!! I just had something in my eyes, sir.."

The man didn't seem convinced. "Are you sure about that?"

"Yes sir, I am.." She nodded, managing a smile.

He shrugged. "What are you doing here, when we have a lot of guests to attend to?"

"I'm sorry, sir. I had stepped out to pick up an important call.." she muttered, managing not to stutter. He took his leave, grunting as he went.

She scolded herself and had only walked a few steps when four hefty men walked up to her. They were clothed in black tuxedos and had black Louis Vuitton shoes on their feet.

Jasmine ogled hard at them. "Who are you? What do you want from me?"

The men with their thick chests and muscles left her terrified and uneasy. Generally, men made her feel this way.

"We need you to come with us.."

"I should come with you? Why? I do not know you and neither do I know where you're taking me.."

"Stop asking so many questions and just come with us.." another snapped.

Jasmine stood still, refusing to move an inch.

"If you're not coming, then we have no choice but to drag you with us.."

Jasmine barely had enough time to bat an eyelid when she found herself being carted off on his shoulders

Her voice rang in protest as she struggled to break free from him but to no avail. He had such a firm grip over her.

For a few minutes, they went on, halting only in front of a tall and well-built man.

He appeared quite intimidating as his back rested against a white may-bach.

"Let go of me, you scrawny things!" Jasmine's hard pout revealed her anger and fury. She raised her eyes and leveled them against the man who stood before her.

"Who are you? What do you want from me?" She repeated, perhaps for the tenth time.

Martins ogled at her with fascination in his eyes. A weak, sinister grin latched on his face as well. Jasmine remained unperturbed, her eyes locked on him.

"What's your name? By the way, has anyone told you you look so fascinating?"

"I am Jasmine. What makes you think you can hijack me without my knowledge? Have you no manners?" She ignored his compliment, anger getting the best of her.

They all gasped in shock. Her words took them off guard.

"If you have nothing important to say, I'd like to take my leave now. I have a job that needs my attention.."

Martin's men intercepted her right as she was about leaving.

"I haven't asked you to leave, have I?" His voice was cold, yet warm. Shivers ran down her spine as she gulped down saliva.

"You only move when I ask you to, have you forgotten?"

"And why is that? I'm sure I just made it clear to you - I have a job to attend to.."

"To hell with your job. Would you mind spending a night with me? You look so hot and gorgeous, and ignoring you is the last thing I can do right now.."

He smacked his lips, advancing towards her.

Jasmine was astonished.

Her jaws dropped. "I'm sorry, I don't seem to understand what you're talking about."

"You aren't a kid, are you? You know what I'm talking about. I want to taste your hot sexy body.." He winked, smacking his lips again as he stared at her.

Pissed and irritated, Jasmine eyed him. "I'm sorry, that's never going to happen. What do you take me for? A slut?"

Martin's eyes remained on her, smiling like he had gotten himself a lucky charm. "Are you going to deny me? I'm sure you know who I am, right?"

"To hell with you, and whatever you are.." Jasmine slammed the words in his face.

Martins? He was utterly flabbergasted.

He was still in shock when Jasmine turned, about to take her leave. He grabbed her hand and pulled her into him.

Their lips met, pressing hard against each other.
