The morning sun peeked through the broken blinds of a modest apartment in the east side of Houston. The walls were thin, the carpet worn, and the furniture second-hand. But to Sarah James, it was home - or the closest thing to it since her life unraveled two years ago.

She stirred her coffee slowly, watching little Caleb at the table, carefully coloring a picture of Noah's Ark from Sunday school. His little hands gripped the crayon tightly as he filled the animals with bright, imaginative colors - purple elephants, green lions.

"Mommy, do you think Noah was scared of the storm?" he asked, eyes full of curiosity.

Sarah smiled softly. "I think maybe he was a little scared. But he trusted God. That's what made him brave."

Caleb nodded with a seriousness far beyond his five years. "I want to be like Noah."

Sarah turned away, hiding the sting behind her eyes. She wanted to be like Noah too - trusting, obedient, courageous. But right now, she felt more like Peter sinking in the waves.
