Elena was known for her strength-until the day her world collapsed. Haunted by betrayal and the loss of her younger sister, she shuts everyone out, building walls no one can climb... until Kai walks into her life. A quiet man with sad eyes and a mysterious past, Kai isn't looking to save anyone-because he's the one who needs saving too. As they begin to open up piece by piece, the pain of the past starts to bloom into something fragile... and beautiful. But healing isn't easy-and love isn't always enough. Together, they must face the darkness, confront their demons, and decide if two broken hearts can really make something whole.

Chapter 1 The Quiet After the Storm

Elena hated mornings.

Not because they were loud or bright, but because they reminded her of everything she'd lost. Every sunrise was a new day, a new chance, and yet... her heart still lived in the shadows of what used to be.

The cold breeze from the ocean slipped through the cracked window of her small beachside apartment, brushing against her bare arms. She stood there, coffee untouched in her hands, staring out at the grey-blue waves. Waves that had once brought her peace. Now, they only echoed silence.

She hadn't painted in eight months. Not since the accident.

Her fingers twitched as if they remembered the feel of the brush. But her soul? It was still too broken to create beauty.

"Time to forget," she whispered to no one.

She wrapped her cardigan tighter and turned away from the sea.

Kai didn't believe in second chances.

Not anymore.

He arrived in the coastal town of Merlow Bay with only a duffel bag, a motorcycle, and a scar beneath his collarbone no one ever saw. It was easier that way. People didn't ask questions when you didn't offer answers.

He wasn't running.

He'd already run. Now he was hiding.

He pulled up to the old mechanic shop at the edge of the town, the one with peeling red paint and a sign that read "Dave's Garage" in faded white letters. Dave was a friend of a friend-a man who didn't care about Kai's past as long as he could fix engines.

"Name's Kai," he said gruffly, pushing through the door.

Dave looked up from behind the counter. "Don't care. Can you handle transmissions?"

Kai nodded. "Yeah."

"Then you start tomorrow."

That night, as the town dipped into a sleepy hush, two broken souls sat alone-just a few streets apart-completely unaware that fate had already drawn the lines that would cross their paths.

Elena flipped through an old sketchbook she swore she'd burn. Her fingers lingered over a page where she'd drawn her sister's face. So full of light. So gone.

Kai sat in the shadows of his rented room, listening to the low hum of his motorcycle cooling down. He pressed his palm to his chest, right above the scar.

They both longed for quiet.

They both feared what would come if they ever let anyone in again.

And yet...

Somewhere in the thick silence of Merlow Bay, something stirred. Something like healing. Something like hope.

To be continued...

Looking at the divorce papers my lips curled up into a mocking smile. 'How big fool I am? How can I think that he will give a chance to this marriage? How can I forget that I was nothing more a tool in his eyes to vent his anger until his beloved Tara is back. Since, she was back, how can he let me stay there?' "After you will sign these papers, you will receive 100 million dollars as alimony." the lawyer added. Because of his words, I came back to my senses took the pen from him, and signed the name. I have also gotten exhausted from this marriage both physically and mentally. Even though I had wanted my child to be born into a complete family, I didn't want my child to have a stepmother and live miserably like me for the rest of his life. After taking the papers from my hand, the lawyer gave me the bank card, turned around, and was about to leave when he paused at the door. He then turned around and added, "Mr. Carter said that he hoped that you won't pester him, or you have to bear the consequences." The lawyer's words were like a knife stabbing in my heart, but I still nodded. Anyway, I also don't plan to have anything to do with him anymore. I just want to live a good life with my children. After the lawyer left, the ward fell into silence. I placed my hand on my belly and said to my children, "Baby, I am sorry, Mommy can't give you a complete family! But I promise you, I will do my best to give the love of both mother and father." 'As for giving one of my child, I will never do that. They are my babies and my alone. I and I will give birth to all of them and raise them no matter what.' Four Years Later... Anya came back to the country with her three kids, to inherit the company left by his grandfather...

I Slapped My Fiancé-Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis

Being second best is practically in my DNA. My sister got the love, the attention, the spotlight. And now, even her damn fiancé. Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now-billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn't mind. I'd crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one? Wrong. One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That's when it hit me-he didn't love me. He didn't even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn't even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup. So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster-my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise. Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol. Enter him. Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I'd met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes. It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised. But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life. And, as it turned out, the best decision I'd ever made. Because my one-night stand isn't just some random guy. He's richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with. And now, he's not letting me go.
