I was born with blocked ovaries, and my husband voluntarily proposed to undergo in vitro fertilization. By chance, I discovered that my husband was going to use his childhood sweetheart's eggs. I pretended not to know and arranged for someone to swap the eggs back. I also changed my husband's sperm to the genes of the boy he had a crush on, and let's just say we didn't need his original genes. Twenty-four years later, I handed over 10% of the company's shares to my newly graduated son. The young man, Xu Nianmeng, who had been placed outside by my father, came home with a triumphant look on his face and said to me: "The child you raised with so much effort is mine!"

Chapter 1

I had a medical condition that made it difficult to conceive naturally, and my husband, Cary Moore, suggested we try IVF.

I accidentally discovered he wanted to use the eggs of his childhood sweetheart, Lexie Lambert.

I feigned ignorance and arranged for the eggs to be swapped with mine.

I even switched Cary's sperm with that of my childhood lover. I didn't want the genes of Cary, an opportunist.

Twenty-four years later, I handed ten percent of the company shares to my son, Archie Wilson, who had just graduated.

Lexie had been hidden away and now returned home. She looked at me smugly and said, "Thank you for raising Archie with such care, but I am his mother."

"Archie, my dear son..."

As soon as Archie and I got home, we heard Lexie's wailing.

Many relatives who usually didn't associate with me had gathered there. Their eyes darted between Lexie and me.

I sneered and knew that Lexie had orchestrated everything.

I coldly glanced at Cary, who stood by Lexie, and asked, "What's the big event today? Why did you gather so many people here?"

Archie cast a disdainful glance at Lexie, who was pretending to be fragile, and then turned his icy gaze to Cary.

Under my guidance, Archie had long known Cary had a mistress hidden away, but he hadn't expected Cary to bring her home.

Before Cary could speak, Lexie walked to Archie with tears streaming down her face. "Archie, Mom finally gets to see you. Let me take a good look at you."

Archie quickly stepped back and said coldly, "My mother is Elena Wilson. Don't talk nonsense."

The way he looked at Lexie was as if he were looking at someone deranged.

I couldn't help but smile slightly and feel proud of Archie.

Lexie stumbled and fell to the ground. Cary rushed to hold her and said with concern, "Archie, you're being so rude. She is your..."

I raised my hand and slapped both Cary and Lexie across the faces.

"A mistress had better stay in the darkness. How dare you spout nonsense here?" My tone was cold and unyielding, and my eyes were filled with disdain and disgust for Lexie.

Cary stood up abruptly. He didn't have his usual calm demeanor and wanted to hit me.

Archie grabbed Cary's wrist and said with contempt, "What right do you have to be rude to my mom?"

As Cary struggled, Archie pushed him hard and made Cary fall heavily onto Lexie.

Cary's eyes widened in anger, and he was about to kick Archie when Lexie stopped him. "Cary, that's our son. Don't hurt him."

Cary suppressed his anger, and his chest heaved violently. He glared at Archie and said, "If your mom hadn't stopped me, I'd have taught you a lesson. You just graduated from college and dare to hit your father. Elena mustn't have brought you up properly."

He looked at me with resentment, as if he wanted to devour me whole.

Archie stood protectively in front of me and said, "Only incompetent men blame women. If you have the guts, hit me directly."

Archie faced Cary without fear, and his demeanor was strikingly similar to mine.

"Enough. Stop making trouble." My uncle, Zachary Wilson, who had returned from the nursing home, issued a stern reprimand.

He was the elder of the family. Once he spoke, everyone turned to look at him.

He glanced at Lexie and Cary, carrying a hint of scrutiny. "You made such a fuss to gather us here today. What's the matter?"

Cary and Lexie exchanged a glance, and Cary cleared his throat. "I have a very important matter to announce today."

He looked at Archie and me, took a deep breath, and pretended to hesitate.

I watched his performance coldly, and my eyes were full of disdain.

"Archie... is not Elena's son." Cary's statement was like a boulder thrown into a calm lake.

The crowd gasped, and Archie looked at me in disbelief.

I gently patted his shoulder and signaled him not to worry.

The surrounding relatives were buzzing with gossip and greed.

Cary's eyes flashed with cunning, which was quickly replaced by sadness. "When we did IVF back then, the doctor said Elena's eggs were likely to fail. To spare her heartbreak, I contacted Lexie and used her eggs."

Listening to his words, I smirked internally. Cary was trying to cover the truth and pretending he had been considerate of me.

Cary glanced at me and hoped I'd lose my temper.

But I remained calm and leisurely sipped coffee.

Cary cleared his throat and continued, "I gathered everyone here today to clarify one thing."

He looked at Lexie and continued, "Archie's mother is not Elena, but Lexie."

The relatives were shocked, and then they began to chatter.

"So that's what happened. But there's nothing to be done. After all, Elena's eggs couldn't be used.

"Since Archie isn't Elena's son, he should acknowledge his mother."

"That's right. A woman who cannot give birth to a son is of no use. The head of the Wilson family should be vacated, and the Wilson Group shouldn't be controlled by Elena."

I scanned the faces of those speaking. Cary was good at choosing people. They were all freeloaders I had cleared out of the company.

They had long been dissatisfied with me and eager for Lexie to challenge me so as to kick me out of the company completely.

Then they could seize the opportunity to return to the company and make more money.

Archie looked at the relatives whose faces screamed "driving Elena from the company," his face growing darker.

I looked at Cary mockingly. "I carried for ten months and gave birth to Archie. He is my son and will never acknowledge another woman as his mother."

My voice was firm and unyielding.

Lexie's tears fell instantly, and her face was filled with the pain of having her son taken away. "Elena, Archie is my son. Stop deceiving yourself. I am his mother."
