Allison Wilson's POV
"Allison Wilson. You are at this moment guilty of illegal transportation of drugs." The judge concludes by stamping his gavel on the table. I could feel my world slowly crumbling before me and there was nothing I could do to stop it.
No one would believe me, not when everything pointed to me being the culprit.
Laura, my best friend and lawyer, stood frozen as she lost the case. She tried everything she could do, but still nothing. The proofs, the fingerprints, the surveillance cameras-everything pointed to me.
Without letting me utter a word in my defense, the policeman stood and cuffed me before dragging me towards the van.
"Tell them Aiden, you know me, I could never do something like that," I begged as the policeman dragged me away. Aiden, out of everyone, should have believed me; we have been together for five years, and even if nobody did. He should have.
I looked over at Aiden and a sly smile formed across his face like he was somehow enjoying the view from behind the chair. He stood still watching as I screamed and begged.

Two years later. Present day
The wooden door stood tall in front of me as I knocked in front of Laura's house. The two years were finally over, but I had nowhere to go. The money, house, and everything owned had all been convicted, with Aiden taking full ownership.
The door creaks open revealing a man that I didn't ever hope to see again.
Aiden.
"What are you doing here?" I ask the anger from before building and welling up inside of me.
"Where's Laura? " I say putting my head through the door while trying to make my way inside in search of my friend.
Had he done something to her?
Aiden leaned against the doorframe, using his masculine body as a wall to block my path, an amusing smile forming on his lip. "I should ask you that. Long time no see, where were you again?"
He asked as if not already knowing. I ignore him. "I want to see my friend, what have you done to her?" My mouth twists with hate and anger.
"Who's that Hun?" A familiar voice from inside calls out and I immediately meet my best friend dead in the eye.
She had on a towel carefully wrapped around her body with half-drenched hair like she had just gotten out of the shower.
Her eyes widen as she meets mine.
"Laura?"
Her once shocked expression quickly fades, turning into one of pure amusement. She takes a step, moving closer to Aiden. Too close.
"Oh, hello, Allison. I didn't expect to see you back so soon." Her voice was laced with pure sarcasm.
" What's going on? " I say, trying to make sense of why my ex-boyfriend was in the same house with my best friend.
"Oh, you mean this?"She says, intertwining their hands before giving him a brief look."Aiden is my husband now actually. He moved in a year ago. "
I stood frozen in shock at her words. Husband? My eyes slowly started to water hoping she'd rephrase her sentence into something else– Anything.
I shake my head frantically."No, no that's not true...please." My voice starts to break as the tears I so barely wanted to hold came pouring out.
"Oh, would you stop playing the victim, Allison?"She asked, rolling her eyes. "What did you expect? We wait for you to get out of prison."
I couldn't believe my ears. This couldn't be Laura speaking. It looked like her but it wasn't the person I knew.
She scoffs." You're a freaking criminal Allison. And besides I'd be a mother soon." She slowly caressed her hands around her stomach. "We are having our first child."
I could feel my entire world crumble and there was absolutely nothing I could do to stop it. With my heart pounding in my chest I stood waiting for it to all be some kind of sick prank. Laura knew everything Aiden did to me from leaving me defenseless in court to striping everything I owned.
As if enjoying the pain I was feeling, Aiden pulled Laura closer, placing a kiss on her forehead, before turning to me. "I advise you to leave now before I call the cops. I'm sure you don't want to spend another year behind bars again." And with that, he shut the door behind me.
With the door shut, I make my way into the cold, lonely street. I didn't know where to go next. Laura had been my last resort for some sort of comfort but that didn't work out.
The cold night air bites at my skin, sending shivers down my spine. I had to find somewhere to sleep. I wandered further into the street before heading to an old abandoned alley with no soul in sight. Without a second thought, my body immediately gives up, collapsing to the ground with a hard thud. I curl up together trying to shield myself from the night cold but to no avail.
A sudden sound shifts my gaze away from my curled-up self and now to where the sound is coming from. Another banging sound comes after with something violently hitting against another, sending cold sweat to my skin and my heart caught in my throat.
Was somebody here?
A sudden figure appeared from the other end of the alley, looming. I couldn't make out the face clearly through the dark, but I could tell its eyes bore directly at me. It moved closer in the dark before stopping a few inches away from me, a knife in its right hand. From the way the figure looked it was a man.
I opened my mouth to scream, but no words made their way out, getting a sinister smile of satisfaction from the man. He lifts his
Knife straight at me. I close my eyes, waiting for the impact.
Am I going to die?
