Chapter 1 Snitchy little brother

The shower have been running non stop, at this point her water bills would go up this week, because she had consumed water that is supposed last for a week just that night, after a while she came out heaving a sigh, it has been a long day. She tied the towel around her hair even though she knew that this would lead to hair loss but she didn't care, she was more worried about how tomorrow would be for her, she had a bad day and needed a cold bath to cool off.

Her brother Stephen had told the entire house about her breakup with Elvis, a secret that she had kept for months, even though her parents still talks to him but they had no idea that they have broken up and this makes the whole thing complicated. Elvis had decided that they keep the break up a secret because he was scared of what the outcome of it might become

He got a girl pregnant and not just any kind of girl but a stripper, he told her it was a mistake and she believed she was a fool to believe him, she had gone to meet this girl so they could talk things out reasonablely like adults, she was to ask the girl for an abortion but the girl bluntly refused, she told her that she had had so many abortions and this one might remove her womb if she tried removing the child

"Then why the heck did you not use protection when you knew about this?"

Beatrice yelled, she had lost her temper because of how nonchalant the girl was about the situation at hand. No she couldn't do this anymore , she couldn't continue with the relationship , even Elvis didn't give much attention to the situation and all because she wanted to fight for what is not even hers she's the one getting the insults in return. He was better off with the how than her she he had the guts to cheat on her and lie to her face that he was drunk, that's why he did it.

Stephen actually came to her house without prior notice on the day she meet with the girl. He found her drowning with alcohol infact she reeked of alcohol herself, he asked what was wrong after the clearing the whole place and spraying an air freshener, out of her drunken state she bluffed out everything that had happened to him. Stephen was infuriated not because Elvis cheated on her but because she broke up with Elvis, he didn't want them to break up now he will have to start making his own pocket money by himself since he had already introduce himself into a lavish lifestyle.

Elvis was kind enough to always send him money everytime he asked for and he wouldn't ask for a reason and now he's sister had lost the only guy whom cared about him without asking him first. The next morning when she was having a horrible hangover he threatened her to go back to him or he will tell their parents about it, she knew that of her parents should in any way find out there would find a way to put them back together regardless of the cause. They didn't actually care about her feelings all they wanted was for her to marry in to a rich family and fortunately Elvis fit in that category.

The reason why she became a nurse at the first place was because her parents thought the profession to be respectable and presentable and also a good way to connect with rich people and that was exactly how she met Elvis, he was actually a professor at the hospital of course one would think that he was too young for that position but who knows if he pulled some strings behind the whole thing.

He was loved by all the nurses and even patients in the hospital because if how jovial and handsome he looked but what they never knew that that smile he gave off freely was just a mask to cover up the psychopath in him. They met when they were together at the OR, the nurse Grace whom was supposed to be in the surgery room with them called in sick and every other nurse was very busy at that time so they didn't have a choice to call in Beatrice.

She rushed in to the ward to help out when she heard that Dr Elvis was the surgeon in charge it was the first time standing up close to him and she could barely breath talk more of concentrating. The surgery was a success but it over very late at night. Beatrice shift was in the afternoon so she had worked overtime and she was very exhausted now she had to go back home that very late at night.

It had rained heavily that night, so it was hard to get a taxi, and when she tried booking a ride the whole cars have been booked and if she wanted to wait she would have to stay for about three more hours before she could finally get a ride home. Her family was having this family get together with her cousins and she was asked not to miss it she didn't even know the details but she was aware that it was supposed to start by 8 pm and this was just a few minutes past eleven in the night.

Her heart raced as she prayed silently for a miracle and just as if the heavens wanted to answer her prayers a car stopped right in front of her. The car looked vigourly familiar, she could swear she have seen this car somewhere but her mind was too weak to figure out how, she sprinted her eyes but yet she couldn't figure it out just hissed and looked away she had so many other things to worry about that some car.
