CHAPTER 001
The elevator door slid open. Kaylee stepped out, her heels knocking on the floor as she walked, deliberately. Carson followed, desperate to talk to her.
"Kaylee, can you at least listen to me?" he said, "look, it's not what you think," his voice sharp as he walked behind trying to catch up with her.
Kaylee kept walking like she was in a hurry, her face red with anger. But Carson grabbed her hand and made her face him, his eyes filled with so much desperation. He held her hand carefully, ready to pour his heart out.
"Kaylee, just one last time...please?" He begged.
Kaylee scoffed. "Just one last time?" she said, "if I could kill you, I would," her face a mix of disgust and disappointment.
She continued walking down to the lounge. Carson kept following, determined to get her to listen.
As Carson begged, Kaylee's eyes scanned through the lounge until it landed on a guy-Liam, sitting leisurely on the chair. Kaylee strode over to him, her purse dangling loosely on her fingers.
"Excuse me," she said calmly and Liam turned to her, "I won't take much of your time,"
Before he could react, Kaylee locked her lips on Liam.
Liam pulled out, stunned by the sudden act of a total stranger. He stood up and was ready to confront Kaylee.
"Shout at me later. I just need your help for now," she said with a steady tone.
Liam was about to say a word when Kaylee pulled him in for another kiss. She kissed him deeply as she held his skirt tightly, her eyes stuck at Carson who just stood there watching the whole.
But then suddenly Liam started to kiss back, pulling Kaylee closer to his embrace and that is when people noticed.
"Yo, yo, yo, look at that. It's L-Mogul," a guy said as his eyes drifted to them.
The lounge erupted. People pulled out their phones and started recording.
"Oh my god!" another said.
"This is blowing up on the media,"
Faint murmurs and giggles began to fill the air. Some began to push through to get a clealer video.
Kaylee shoved Liam away, shocked. She stared at him, and everyone else around, confusion written all over her face but then again, he locked his lips on hers kissing her once more.
Kaylee struggled to break and when she finally did, her hand flew across Liam's face.
"What the fuck is wrong with you?" she said, catching her breath.
Liam chuckled, he brushed his thumb against his lips and said, "I thought you needed help, so I played along and now it's a problem. You started it." he scoffed "Women have their way easily and get away with it. What you did, they would call a sexual assault if it was reversed. I had to do it back so now we're even." he stated.
Liam stared around for a while, looking at the phone cameras on them. "You got yourself attention. Oh, and you better get home-you won't like it here the next minute. Have a nice one"
He slid his hands inside his pocket and walked out, gently pushing past Kaylee. Kaylee turned to follow him and that was when she realized Carson was still there, his gaze darkened. He stared at her for a while then slowly turned and left the lounge.
Kaylee took a while to take in what just happened. Suddenly, the entrance door of the hotel flew open and reporters rushed in. Their steps pounded on the hotel's marble floor as they approached her.
Cameras flashed and they began to throw questions at her, repeatedly, one after another.
"Hey, miss, what relationship do you have with L-Mogul?"
"Is he your boyfriend? Perhaps your husband?"
"Did you decide to make your relationship public?"
"You slapped him on his face, what happened? Was that a breakup?"
Kaylee stood speechless not knowing what to answer. She doesn't know that man, she only kissed him so she could get Carson to stop bothering her.
"Who was this guy and why are there so many questions being asked about his relationship?" she thought to herself.
She couldn't respond to any of them and when she felt overwhelmed enough to be in the midst of the reporters and bright cameras flashing on her, she fled the scene and ran out of the hotel. The reporters followed immediately seeking for answers.
Just as Kaylee exited the entrance, a black car pulled up in front of the hotel.
Her driver leaned over. He pushed open the back seat for her.
"Get in Miss Howie!"
Kaylee ran toward the car and hopped in. The tire screeched on the ground as it zoomed off immediately before the reporters made it toward them.
She leaned back on the seat, catching her breath at the same time wondering what was even happening. Curious, she asked the driver who seemed to know something.
"Ah, that's Liam Pierce, the founder of P.Lux Group. You must not know from your reaction," the driver said with a friendly demeanor.
"No, I don't. Is he that famous?" Kaylee asked, her brows raised in curiosity, wanting to know more.
Her driver nods. "Insanely famous. Just check your phone for it, he said.
Kaylee pulled her phone out in an instant. She went through the internet and to her surprise, her little drama with Liam earlier was trending.
"The public seemed to be more invested in his relationship because he has never had a thing with women. So, I knew whatever happened while you were in there was a serious one." the driver added, his gaze fixed on the road.
Kaylee's eyes widened as scrolled past some particles with the same headlines that read "L-MOGUL IN A RELATIONSHIP DRAMA."
Kaylee blinked several times. She never expected that kissing a stranger to finally end her relationship would get her caught up in such public drama.
She continued scrolling through articles, viewing the videos under, and reading their comments.
She was still lost in her thoughts when her phone rang out loudly cutting through the silence inside the car. Her expression shifts and it seemed she became worried.
She picked up after the second ring. "Hello.." her voice was soft. She listened to the person on the other side of the phone. "I'm on my way,"
The line went dead and the driver glanced at her through the rearview mirror. Kaylee nodded and as if that was a sign he needed, he stepped on the paddle speeding through the highway.

The car drove inside a grand house with modern decor surrounded by greenery. The fountain dominated its center. The lighting was bright, shining through from every corner, creating a soft and warm atmosphere.
Kaylee got down from the car. She took a deep breath as she stared at the huge entrance door, like her whole problems were behind it.
"Miss Kaylee?" the driver called.
Kaylee turned around to look at him.
"You have to be strong," he said with concern.
Kaylee's eyes softened as she watched him drive the car to the garage. She spinned around, her chest heavy. She gathered courage, ready to face whatever that was behind that door.
She climbed up the steps carefully, her steps were deliberate. She wondered what the night held for her after all that was behind that door.
