"Please don't do this. You have to save my sister," Phoebe pleaded with tears gathering in her eyes.

Not that she knew the one she was pleading for. She was just too compassionate to leave her alone.

It's been years since she left the country and on arrival day she was robbed by the taxi she took from the airport. Not only did they rob her they also shot an innocent air hostess that was returning home from her shift.

The worst part of all was that Phoebe wasn't returning home happily. She had lost her stepfather, a man that was like a father to her. Phoebe never liked her mother but she loved her stepfather like she loved her late father.

Yes, Phoebe and her mother were at odds because her mother had left her father in a critical condition and went to marry a wealthy man. At first Phoebe hated her stepfather but when her father died and she had no choice but to live with her mother, she knew that her mother found a good man and she loved him. But there was a clause.

There was a stepbrother that hated her twice as much as she hated her life then. He was never nice and would say hurtful words to her. He won't stop calling them gold-diggers. This was the reason Phoebe left the country even though she was just twelve and for the past twelve years she hasn't returned home.

She was so sad to hear of the death of her stepfather. The man was kind and gentle with her. Her life wouldn't have been this good if not for him. She had cried her eyes out when she heard the sad news.

Returning home that very day she was attacked alongside a hostess. Phoebe's kind heart wouldn't let her leave the poor girl. She had thought if she had seen to her treatment, she would return home but unfortunately for her, the hostess had a severe brain disease that she had been nursing and now the robbery had triggered it and she needed immediate surgery.

The hospital had demanded a down payment of two hundred thousand dollars. Phoebe just started her business and pulling out such an amount would be huge on her, yet, she was willing. But then the robber took away everything from her including her phone. There was no way she was going to reach her mother. So she pleaded that they should continue treating her while she tries to get the money but the doctor refused.

"Ma'am, this operation is not an easy one and it would be done by the only brain specialist in town and luckily for your sister, he's in the hospital right now. Maybe if you plead with him he would agree with you," the doctor said before walking away.

Hope arose in Phoebe's heart. She didn't even wait a second before she rushed to the doctor's office after being directed. Opening the door to the office, she was shocked at what she saw.

Phoebe was expecting to see some old man, even if not old but a middle aged man who would be compassionate enough to help the girl she brought. Not a dangerously handsome young guy, who was seated there, giving the vibe of a mafia boss. She was so smitten by his beauty that she stood there looking at him. Even though the guy wasn't smiling, he was melting her heart. He was the exact type of her dream guy. She didn't even know that the man she had drawn in her head existed.

"How may I help you lady?" His baritone almost got her swooning.

Dante was seated in his office thinking when someone entered his office without knocking. That he had hated the most. Looking at the beautiful little woman that entered into his office, a little frown formed in between his brows. She looked like she missed her way. Then her pure blue eyes were looking at him as if she had seen a ghost.

"Are you alright?" he asked again?" The last thing he needed was someone to disturb him.

Phoebe came to her senses and she quickly apologised for her manners. She then moved closer to him quickly.

"Doctor, I beg you. My sister is in a critical condition and I was told to pay a down payment. Not that I won't pay but we were robbed and all our mobile phones have been taken away. Please treat my sister and I'll rush home to go get the money," she pleaded.

As she spoke Dante kept looking at her. He has never seen something so small and cute in his life. He felt so interested in her, that he didn't realise that she had stopped talking. He had a strange feeling that he had seen her somewhere before now. Dante didn't want to believe that he had.

Phoebe felt the need to plead more because the doctor wasn't saying anything. She didn't know that she wasn't the only one admiring the doctor, he was also checking her out.

"I promise I won't run away. I'll leave my house address with the receptionist. Please just help my sister."

Phoebe was praying in her heart that he won't refuse her. She didn't want the girl to die.``You are not a minor or are you?" he asked calmly.

Dante believed that Phoebe was still a teenager because of how she looked.

Phoebe wondered what her age got to do with saving life. If it wasn't a matter of life and death, Phoebe would have gotten angry to be referred to as a teenager.

"You don't have to worry about my age doctor. I'm an adult," she replied but the way Dante was looking at her showed that he didn't believe her.

Truly he didn't believe her. She looked like she was still in highschool.

"I'm twenty four. Please just help me. I will....," she said.

She was already getting tired of pleading. In her life, she only pleaded with one person. 'Her mother'.

Dante was glad when she assured him of her age and he said to her what he himself didn't expect to say all his life.
