You stepped Into the rooftop, greeted by the cool air wrapping around you. You shiver a little then use your eyes to search for her. There she was sitting on a bench, holding tightly to her black cane. The cane is her eyes when I'm not around. You walked up to her and hugged her from behind. She shuddered as you pulled her into a hug.
"I've searched your room and you weren't there so you figured that you'll be here." You said while hugging her from behind. Together you both view the whole city. Or should you say only you got to view the city as she's optically disabled.
"I'm an outcast who's confined to the Sky room. Mom says your presence is bad luck to the family." She amounted as you leaned closer to her and whisper.
"There will be a meteor shower tonight and there's an old legend that goes, that if you make a wish on a shooting star, it will come to pass. It is believed that the youteor carries your wish to the heavens." You said as she shuddered and stretched her neck further like she could see.
"Then I'll live to make a wish." She whispered then you smiled.
"Conrad I'm scared" she continued still facing the city. Then she clung to your hands, holding them tightly.
"What's it?" You asked her whispering, bringing your face closer to her neck. No signature body spray just her natural scent. She keeps herself clean. The city was more busier today. Cars honking and the people's rowdiness. One thing about living in the heart of the city.
"What if you don't get to regain your sight would you leave you. Conrad promise you that you won't leave you" she said as her voice became cracked, she rested her face on your arms, She held unto you tightly like she never wanted to loose you but she is someone you can never leave.
"you promise I'm not going to leave you. You're your source of happiness and I'll always stay by your side forever" You said as you kissed her hair then she giggled. "Georgia make a wish" you whispered into her ears. The meteor shower was about to start.
"you wish to be by your side forever." She said as tears trickled down her eyes, you felt them drop on your hands. They were moist and painful. Your face becayou still, normally during meteor showers her wishes were always to regain her sight but this time it's different. You then used the back of your palm to clean her eyes. If she could see how she looked crying, if she could see your expression whenever she tears out, if she knows how heartbroken you are whenever she cries but this time you couldn't look her in the face as you couldn't bear it.
"Conrad what's your wish" She asked in a croaked voice. You stared at her blurry face for a while then to the city and then the meteor shower that is about to start few seconds from now. Closing your eyes for a while and made a silent wish.
"What's your wish Conrad" she said nudging your shoulder
"I've made your wish" You said wearing a wry smile. She stared at you in disbelief but you couldn't still figure her face out.
"But you didn't hear it" she said sounding disappointed.
"Silent wishes are quickly answered" You said.
" The shower have started" you announced as she shrieked in joy. She raised her face up to the sky. The stars started falling. Excitement boldly written on you both. Her face glows as she imagines what the stars look like. Having a mental picture is not enough as seeing it physically. The stars kept falling you kept staring at her. Long I've waited for the day we'll both watch the stars without anyone being disabled optically but her blurry face kept glowing. You kept wondering why her face was always blurry and you couldn't see her. Followed by the high pitching sound ringing on your ears. You block them with your both fingers but it was of no help. Once again you never saw her face nor got her name.
Slowly everything her face inclusive got all blurred and what seemed like a blackout happened. You found yourself lying on a bed. Duvet covering your waist below. The curtains opened revealing the sharp rays of sunlight piercing into your eyes. You shield your eyes with your hands.
"Wake up Dave. Early to bed, early to rise." Alexa your Voice controlled assistant said. She has a very dramatic way of waking you up. You sluggishly stretch and yawn.
"Alexa what time is it." You asked lazily as you stretched your bed wishing to go back to your dream.
"Conrad the time is 6:30 am in the morning, do you..." you simply cut her shut then you jumped off the bed. You suddenly felt a sharp migraine in your head. You experience this migraine when you dream of the faceless girl. Why are you so drawn to her? You asked yourself as you opened your bedside drawer seeing the card of IP-45. The migraine increased as you grab your flask containing water that sat on the bedside drawer. Immediately you took the drug, the migraine disappeared.
You now hurry to the bathroom to shower. You have a meeting to hit this morning. Mondays are the most dreaded days in the week for both students and workers and very annoying. You got out of the bed and headed straight to the bathroom to prepare hot water. Hot bath is most preferable to you. Minutes later you were done washing your self you came out of the bathroom all wet in your bathrobe then you headed straight to the dressing room to pick up what you'll wear to work. You picked a navy blue Louis Vuitton double breasted suit with a black Dolce and Gabbana shoes to match. You styled your hair and wore your perfume you stared at your reflection once more. You're what you can call a perfect man you're 2.0 inch tall with a well toned masculine body, bronze skin with hazel eyes and pink lips and also a bastard billionaire at the age of 30. So you're every ladies dream guy come to think of it you're still single not dated any girl which makes people question your sexuality including your mom. She's now a thorn in your flesh. Bringing different ladies to see if any one catches your fancy. You ran downstairs to the dinning room
"WTF" you cursed almost loudly
"Son is that the new way you greet your mom in the morning " mom yelled at you. You didn't mean to say that but you had to you don't know if you'll be able to handle her today. You mean her talks about marriage. Aunt Mara is in charge of the kitchen so it's shocking seeing mom make breakfast. Don't get you wrong you're not gay but straight you've never met any girl that catches your fancy. .
"Conrad" mom called you snapping you out of your thoughts
"Yes mom..... oh I'm sorry for earlier"
"Better, you must have breakfast" she said as you pulled one of the chairs and sat down. While she was setting the table.
"Son do you think I'll make you tea forever. Get yourself a woman that would do that for you" she said starting the most dreaded discussion you detest
"I've heard" you said nonchalantly.
"Is that all you'll say you're getting older once you're 32 I'll throw you out of this house. What's your view of Mr. bulb's daughter. She's single and so you are"
"So" you said while munching the bread
"How about I match make you both" she asked as you quickly choked and nearly poured out the food out of your mouth.
"I'll rather be a monk than date that stuff" you said as you continued munching the bread.
"What did you say" she asked in a loud tone.
"You heard me" you said as you stood up from the chair. You picked up your key and your briefcase an headed straight to the door.
"Where are you going you haven't finished your breakfast" she said coming out of the kitchen trying to catch up with you.
"I'm full" in reality you weren't full but you can't sit there watch her spewing rubbish.
"Let me pack it up for you" she suggested bringing out a lunch pack.
"No worries I'm fine" you said as you stepped out of the house and bolted the door behind you. You quickly hoped into your car and started the engine and zoomed off. It's better you clear your head at work.
