Chapter 1 Clubbing Day

"Shots! Shots! Shots!"

My best companion Maddie yelled in adjust with the melody "Shots" by LMFAO as we both tossed the tequila back.

The alcohol burned the back of my throat, but it was a great burn.

"I am so drunk," Maddie said boisterously over the music. "And you know what? Fuck Robbie! He has no thought what he's lost out on!"

Robbie was Maddie's on-again-off-again boyfriend. Right presently, they were off-again-and she was a hot mess. As usual.

"You can do so much better," I said, slurring a small as I talked. I held up a ruddy Solo glass. "Here's to finding unused folks this year!"

"To unused, way better guys," Maddie concurred, hitting my container with hers. "I require another drink. You need anything?"

"Another beer." I knew I was going to conclusion up lamenting this combination of tequila and lager in the morning, but that was affirm. I'd required this: to get absent from reality. To elude. And Branden Mitchell's yearly back to school party was the best put to do that.

It was the Friday some time recently our senior year. I had a feeling around this year. A unused school year continuously implied unused beginnings, but this year was going to be distinctive. Everything was approximately to alter, indeed more than it as of now had. I wasn't beyond any doubt how precisely I knew that, but I might feel it in my gut.

Things were almost to alter, but I wasn't beyond any doubt if it was for the better... or for the worse.

Not that things seem truly get much more regrettable than here.

I looked over at the drink table and saw Maddie talking-no, flirting with Robbie.

Her head was tilted back in chuckling as she touched his arm delicately. I rolled my eyes, knowing that I had likely misplaced my best companion for the night.

I filtered the region, looking to see if there was anybody else at the party who I was companions with. I headed more profound into the yard where a bunch of the jocks were sitting around a bonfire.

As I got closer to it, the fragrance of fire drifted in through my nostrils.

Squeezing my eyes closed, I seem see the smoke surging into my room. I may scent the fire once more, a fragrance that I had been attempting to get out of my hair and off my dress for the past two weeks-a fragrance that fair appeared to need to cling to me, frequenting me.

I had to get the hell out of here.

Note to self: remain distant absent from fires, particularly two weeks after your guardians are murdered in one.

Opening my eyes, I spun around-and found myself colliding with a rock-hard chest that had a place to a tall person-a exceptionally tall person.

This fellow genuinely had abs for days; I seem see the swells of his six- pack through the dark t-shirt he was wearing.

Glancing up into his eyes, my breath caught in my chest. I had never seen him some time recently, but he was the most flawless fellow who I had ever laid eyes on. He had dark hair, which was shorter on the sides than in the front and a five o'clock shadow that secured his sharp, precise features.

But it was his eyes that stood out to me the most. They were a striking shade of blue, a color that reminded me of the ocean.

His eyes bolted on mine, puncturing through me... and I felt something I had never felt before.

Attraction. I had never felt this pulled in to anybody who I'd ever met in my life. I was drawn to him like a moth to a fire; it was like we were magnets.

There wasn't indeed an inch between our bodies, and I was beautiful beyond any doubt that both of us needed to be closer.

We fair stood there, gazing at each other for a long time, some time recently he at last broke the ice.

"Would you like to dance?" He talked in the sexiest, most profound voice I had ever listened in my life. It made goosebumps emit on my arms.

"Yes," I overseen to say.

As we moved to the center of the yard where other individuals were moving, we started to move to the music.

It felt like there was this warm, this incredible pressure between us, not at all like anything I had ever felt before.

"What's your name?" I inquired him.

"Theo." His blue eyes bolted on mine. "I'm Raven," I told him.

"You're too stunning." His eyes didn't move from mine as he said the words.

"You're not so terrible yourself." Of course, that was an understatement.

He was, no lie, one of the most smoking folks I'd ever laid eyes on.

"Are you modern here? I've never seen you before," I went on.

He proceeded to hold my look. "I'm fair passing through town." He stopped. "Then once more, you fair might be the reason I require to stay."

A wave of fluid boldness came over me at that point, and I did the one thing I needed to do more than anything.

I squeezed my lips to his, kissing him.

He appeared shocked by my kiss at to begin with, but at that point his lips came slamming down on mine. I wrapped my arms around his neck as his tongue investigated my mouth.

His kiss was perplexed with enthusiasm, a searing crave that coordinated my possess evenly.

When I pulled absent, I was breathless. I met his blue eyes once more. Holy fuck.

At that minute, something came over me. I wasn't beyond any doubt if it was the alcohol or the warm of the summer night, but I all of a sudden felt inconceivably dizzy.

Before everything went dim, I may have sworn I listened him say, "Holy fuck is right."

I hadn't said that out boisterous, had I?
