Many years ago, in a South American village existed a magical city known only as a fable -- El Dorado. In this city wolves, witches, mermaids and other fantastical creatures thrived. However, the threat of extinction loomed over the city as its location would soon be discovered by conquistadors. In an attempt to protect the city from destruction, Three spirits came together to create a plan to stop the invasion. A wolf, a witch and a sea goddess walk into a bar...
In the year 1885, there was a village in Guyana called Arekuna. Arekuna sat on an island in the middle of the Essequibo River close to the Venezuelan border. In the village, a secret community existed to protect what many adventurers have sought after for many years-- El Dorado.
Since the 1700's, The Spaniards, The British and The Dutch have searched for the mythical city of gold in Africa, Europe and some parts of Central America. However, due to a betrayal from a neighboring village in Bolivar, Venezuela, the Spanish became aware that the city did in fact exist but was located in Guyana.
To protect the city and its inhabitants from the destruction that befell other mythical cities, "The Spirits" as the villagers called them, came together and devised a plan to protect the city. La Sirene (Cee-ren) The Sea Goddess, Artemis the Wolf Goddess and Marie Laveau a powerful witch came together and formulated a plan that three daughters would be born encompassing the powers of each spirit to protect the village from destruction at the hands of conquistadors.
In the year 1899 a Garifuna warlock named Luciano Valdine escaped from Honduras and fled to Arekuna to hide from the Nicaraguan Army, which was led by José Santos Zelaya, a powerful dictator who had currently taken over Honduras and was in search of El Dorado. Jose believed that the warlock could use his powers to locate the city for him. When Luciano refused, Jose became enraged and placed a bounty on his head. Luciano soon found refuge in a small Lokono village in Arekuna. There he met Dorothy. Dorothy was the daughter of the chief's brother. They fell in love and were soon married. In 1902, Louna, the first of the 3 predicated daughters was born.
Louna had an affinity for magic from a very young age. At the age of 1, she was able to manipulate objects around her and bend the will of anyone to her liking. Although powerful, she was kind. But what stood out to her parents were her eyes, one brown and one gray. Similar to that of the witch, Lady Laveau. The village shaman told Luciano and Dorothy that Louna was part of a special plan to protect Arekuna's greatest treasure and she needed to learn to control her magic before she is to take on the tasks the spirits had foretold. Luciano, concerned for his daughter's safety, asked the shaman what he should do. The shaman responded, "Have faith. The others will be here soon."
