Cold Hands, Warm Hearts

Alexander Roberts sat down in his office reviewing some documents, suddenly his office door opened and his best friend Kennedy entered,

"You are getting married, To who?"

Alex removed his glasses and set it aside, he lean back and throw a folder to Ken who caught it mid-air,

Ken sat down on the couch and opened the folder containing the information about the so called bride, bhh

"Kiera Adam, the name sounds familiar."

Alexander stood up and sat across him on the couch, "She is a famous food bloggers"

Ken eyes widen "That true, i used to watch her videos, she is really creative and beautiful"

"Hum.."

"So what are you going to do now" Ken asked and placed the file on the table,

Alex crossed his leg and placed his hand on his forehead, "Mom already made the deal with her parent, we are getting married in a week."

Ken let out a mockery laugh "Seriously, i can't believe you will get married in this life."

Alex shot him a cold glance and Ken chuckled, the thought of his cold friend getting married give him the thrilled.

Alexander Roberts is a workaholic billionaire who treats emotions as distraction,

He is every dream guy, a handsome man with pointed nose that perfectly blended to his expressive eyes and long thick lashes,

His delicate features were like an artwork, with red lips, his skin a cool white making him look like a prince from a dream,

Alexander own the biggest industry in the country, all the A-list, award receiving actor and actress all work with his industry.

He has a best friend Kennedy who was a well-known playboy, he is a handsome guy with blonde hair, blue eyes and a nose that was perfectly sculpted with thin cool lips.

Ken also own the biggest News Agency, both friends are business partners.

Meanwhile at the Adam villa..........

Kiera was having dinner with her parent in silence, only the sound of their plate and spoon could be heard,

Her mother dropped her spoon and sipped her wine, she removed a folder beside her and place it in front of Kiera,

"What is this" Kiera asked confused

"Check it yourself"

Kiera dropped her spoon and opened the folder, she brought out a file and after a min, she look at her mother confused,

"You are getting married to him next week" Mrs Adam said and sipped her wine,

Kiera Adam stood up with her mouth wide opened, "You are joking right?"

Mrs Adam rolled her eyes "When did i ever joke with you"

"But you can just hook me up with any kind of guy, what are we, 19s"

"At the age of 25), you are still single, do you think i will keep watching you like that, your mates are getting married." Mrs Adam fired,

"Mom!"

You are getting married Kiera, that is final" Mrs Adam said and lean back on the chair,

Kiera sighed and sat down, she took her hand and breath in, "Mom, i promise to find a boyfriend within this week, just cancel this marriage"

"You can't fool me again Kiera, the last time you hired a guy to pretend to be your boyfriend and fooled me for months, but it won't happen this time."

"I promise not to hire anyone this time, trust me hunn...." Kiera said and pouted,

Mrs Adam removed her hand and stood up, "Alex is the perfect guy for you, he is tall, handsome and rich, luckily he is still single, you are getting married to him, that is it" she said and went upstairs

"Mom" Kiera called but she was ignored,

Kiera bite her lips frustrated and faced her father, "Dad"

Mr Adam sighed and shook his head "Am sorry princess, it high time you get married"

"Damn it" Kiera fired and went back to her room angrily, her dog max ran toward her and climbed her leg,

"Am not in mood max" Kiera said and collapsed on her bed, she removed her phone from her pocket and called her friend on video call,

Lisa was the first to picked up, she was preparing dinner for her husband, soon Rose was connected too,

"Yo baby girl, why the long face" Rose said,

"There is a problem

What problem" Lisa asked,

"Am getting married guys"

Silence..........

"Is that a new joke you came up with" Lisa said

"Am serious guys"

Her friends blinked and their mind wavered in confusion when they saw her serious face,

"We don't remember you having a boyfriend, so how?" Rose asked

"It an arranged marriage"

Lisa and Rose burst out laughing and Kiera frowned slightly,

"I thought that only happen in movies and novels" Lisa said

"Maybe she read one overnight" Rose added

"Seriously, am really not joking here, am getting married to the president of AL Entertainment"

"Okay, this is getting serious, do you know who you just mentioned, Alexander Roberts the richest and the most handsome man" Rose said,

"Yeah, his parents and mine are friends and i just found out am getting married to him in a week"

"You really are not joking" Lisa said surprised

"Of course am not joking, do you think i will joke with something like this"

"Wow! you are very lucky Kiera, getting married to every ladies heartthrob" Rose said baffled

"Do you think am okay with it, it too sudden and i don't even know this guy for god damn sake,"

"What are you going to do then" Lisa asked,

"I planned on visiting him, maybe we can changed our parents mind"

"I don't think you can meet him easily, you have to make an appointment and that is if it was delivered" Rose said,

"I have to try first" Kiera said and stood up, she carried max who has been licking her foot and ruffled his hair,

"Well good luck trying, but to be true with you, you have to stop having that mindset that every man is like Marcus" Lisa said,

"Yeah, you can't be single forever Kiera, give yourself another chance" Rose added

"Guys, i don't want what happened the last time to repeat itself"

"But still give yourself another chance, there are still better guys out there" Lisa said

"Can we talk about it later, am feeling sleepyl"

"Okay goodnight" Lisa said and sighed softly

"Bye" Rose also added

Kiera closed her phone and stood up, she took off her cloth and went to shower,

She came out in a white robe and changed into her purple dog-print pajamas, she lay on the bed and cover herself with her blanket,

"Knock, knock"

"Come in"

The door opened and her father entered,

"You okay?"

"How can i be okay, when am getting married in a week" Kiera said and rolled her yes,

Her father chuckled and sat down beside her, "Your mother and i want the best for you, you can't be single forever Kiera"

"Dad"

"We know Marcus hurt you, but you have to let go of your past and make sure not to make the same mistake again"

"Start afresh and learn from your mistakes" Mr Adam said and patted her head,

"You know am not a baby anymore right?"

"To me, you are still my troublesome princess"

Kiera chuckled and hugged her father "I love you dad"

"I love you too princess, sleep tight" Mr Adam said and left her room.

Kiera sighed, even if she was going to start afresh, it not with someone she doesn't know,

She was still determined to cancel the marriage.
