Chapter 1 The beauty of Fire

Everyone stared at her as she walked out of the arrivals hall in the airport. Delaney was used to the stares but that didn't stop her from glaring at the people that made it too obvious.

Sighing for the umpteenth time that morning, she wondered if anyone was going to pick her up because she had been sitting for forty minutes in the hall which was annoying her because of the stares.

The airport wasn't really crowdy today which Delaney was thankful for as she wasn't really interested in being a celebrity today. She walked outside just to see a guy wearing a black joggers and white top that showed his well tanned muscles.

His black long hair was tied up in a ponytail and he had a smirk on his face as he talked to a young girl who was clearly smitten by him.

"This is what he's been doing?" She scoffed and rolled her eyes.

Walking closer to them she frowned at the young girl who looks like an underage to her.

"He's probably going to forget about you once you've been in his bed once," She whispered with her eyes brooding down at the girl.

The girl was about to say something witty to who interrupted her good time with the handsome stranger but stopped immediately as she turned around and saw her face. The only thought in her head is that the woman in front of her is just breathtaking. There's something about her cold blue eyes that looks like a beautiful ocean that has been frozen and the way she stares at her like she could see right through her mind and soul makes her dangerous and alluringly beautiful.

Her blonde hair was messily packed into a bun and her off shoulder top showed her well tanned skin which was covered with inked tattoos and markings, she paired the black top with black leather pants and black boots. The girl thought she didn't even need to put any efforts into dressing up and she would still look good.

"Are you real?" she moved closer unknowingly to touch her but Delaney held her hand before she could make contact and whispered in her ear with a cool voice,

"Haven't you been told not to play with fire? It's beautiful from afar yet dangerous when you get too close."

The girl stepped away immediately and Delaney smirked.

"Come on Del, you're ruining my plans and scaring the poor girl."

Ignoring Ryan's whining, she opened the door of the car nearly hitting the poor girl who was still mesmerized by her. After putting her baggage in the back seat, she turned around to face her.

"You're still here?" She asked as if she just noticed someone's presence by the door.

The poor girl opened and closed her mouth not knowing what to say so Ryan came to her rescue and waved his hand for her to go.

Immediately she left, Ryan was about to say something when a fist came flying to his face and he had to dodge immediately to avoid getting hit.

"What the hell was that for?" He was used to his sister sending kicks and punches anytime so dodging was quite easy for him.

"You wasted my time because you were wooing an underage? She looks like she ran away from home years ago!" Delaney shook her head as if she was disappointed at her brother's taste in girls.

"I wasn't even wooing her for God's sake! You were going to punch me because of that?"

"I knew you were going to dodge, dummy," she sighed and stretched her hand to him. Ryan stared at her in disbelief before smiling.

"I missed you too, sister," He moved closer to hug her but was stopped by her slender fingers that wrapped around his neck in a blink of the eye.

"I will snap your neck if you take another step," she said with an intimidating look on her face and Ryan couldn't tell if she was joking or not but he decided not to push his luck and stepped back quickly.

"I was only joking, brother," Delaney gave him a sweet smile.

Ryan shook his head at her twisted attempt at a joke and handed her the car keys.

"I don't know why you insisted that I bring your car to the airport when one of the drivers could have done it, he moved aside to open the passenger seat door while Delaney climbed into the driver's seat.

" Those people are dumb as fuck, I don't want to end up squeezing the life out of someone before I reach the Morales's castle and besides...,"she stared at him with a sweet face that made Ryan narrow his eyes at her.

"...You are the only sane person in that house so there's a ninety percent guarantee that I wouldn't hurt you" she gave him a wink.

"You almost squeezed the life out of me earlier," Ryan reminded her as she started the car.

"That is why I said ninety percent, dummy."

Driving out of the airport, She let the roof of the car open and untied her hair and let the wind blow it back as she sped off.

"We are going home, right?" Ryan asked as he watched the wind mess up her hair further while she has her concentration on the road ahead.

"You'll see," she replied with a smug smile on her face.

"Grandma called earlier," Ryan spoke carefully as he examined her face but breathed a sigh of relief when she didn't react.

"What did you say?" Del glanced at him through the corner of her eyes and watched him fidget before responding.

"I said we might be a little late than usual, that we are going to get some things before coming...."

A laughter suddenly rang in the car which surprised Ryan as he stared at her dumbfounded.

"Who's teaching my little dummy how to lie now?" she stared at him with a mocking smile.

"I'm not your little dummy, and I have a girlfriend now" he frowned at her offensive words.

"So your girl is teaching you all these cheat codes?"

"No,I just thought you wouldn't want to see granny's face first as soon as you got back to Wilbrow." My girl has nothing to do with me telling lies," he replied and rolled his eyes at her ridiculous question.

"Awwwn, how sweet of you," she said this with a straight face and it took Ryan a while to realize that she was being sarcastic.

"I'm meeting her in a cafe in thirty minutes," Ryan smiled while pressing his phone.

"You look like an idiot in love" She paused for a while as an idea popped into her head.

"Don't make that face, Del," Ryan frowned at the mischievous expression on her face.

"Why don't you introduce your girl to me?"

"Hell no!! I'm not gonna scare the girl away on our first date" he shook his head at the imagination of the girl crying on their first date.

Delaney pulled the car to stop and turned to face him with an innocent look.

"I won't do anything unnecessary, you have my word," she promised him.

"Okay, I will believe you then," he agreed, knowing that Delaney wouldn't go back on her word.

But he failed to notice the smirk on her face as they both got down from the car after Ryan insisted that they walk to cafe which is just around the corner.
