Shiloh Porter happens across his former wife and nurse Quinn LeRosa while in the nations capital. He pushed her away and divorced her 3 years ago after she nursed him back to health. Now he feels desire for her. Can he win her back?

Chapter 1 Remembering

Quinn was stuck in traffic again. No new thing for DC. But she always left a hour early to travel to huge marine hospital she worked at.

After her divorce from a son in a prominent family, she had relocated to be closer to her adoptive family. Her dad Jim was a recently retired marine gunnery sergeant and now enjoying retirement in Pleasant Springs Delaware. He had a nice ranch with his wife Della. Her 4 brothers had all followed in her dad's footsteps.

Della was a former actress and nurse. She had a dozen movie credits and 3 tv shows she had landed lead roles in. She had acted for 13 years before she met Jim and got retraining in nursing. She liked ranching but found she liked helping people. Together they had 6 kids, and adopted an additional 4. Their 2 biological daughters were nurses along with Quinn and her adopted twin sisters Felicia and Grace Kent. Her adopted brother Jason Kent was a doctor at the same marine hospital as Quinn. The trio had gotten reacquainted with their parents who were welcoming and warm. Quinn's birth family weren't. So she was content with her adoptive family. She reflected as she heard a horn honk. She eased her car around driving the shoulder the last twenty feet to the off ramp that led to the hospital.

She went ahead to her spot and parked. A cop in an unmarked unit had followed her.

"Well damn I am already ten minutes late." She muttered while rolling her window down as the man approached.

"You work here miss?"

"Yes sir. Here are my credentials. I apologize for breaking traffic laws. I only did because I am ten minutes late for work." She explained.

He looked at her paperwork and told her she was good to go. He left without so much as a warning.

She was never late so it came as no shock when her friend Sasha asked what happened. They shared a laugh.

"Any new patients?" She asked Maria the nurse in charge.

"We have 5 coming in from the ICU. 3 bad burns and 2 with serious injuries to legs.they were ambushed in an attack in Kiev." Maria gave emailed the files to their tablets.

Quinn liked technology as long as it worked. It was easier to have their new tech file system compared to the old fashioned paper file system. Though her boss Doctor Hobbs would disagree. But they would need 5 huge warehouses to store their files.

The hospital had a massive therapy wind consisting of 3 floors. She worked in the burn therapy and physical therapy wards. She herself saw a psychiatrist so she saw that as reason enough not to attend to patients who needed head health as they called it.

The new patients were by far easy cases compared to most. They mostly needed light work. She was helping one patient work on his fine motor skills when Maria came rushing in.

"Quinn heads up. Your ex husband is visiting the patient next door in room 405." She thanked Maria who knew her past along with Sasha.

"No problem thanks for letting me know." She continued with the man's therapy which was a simple color candy sorting exercise to help the finger's.

Shiloh heard the women talking. But he didn't mind. He had served with. The guy was tired after his own therapy session which had been a table top bicycle thing that he remembered from his own recovery efforts.

He hadn't been able to recuperate at a place like this. So his family had arranged a marriage for him with Quinn. He regretted not giving them a chance.

He caught sight of her as she passed by the door and his pants tented.

"Brother I am tired. But use the head before you go so you're not saluting the troops with the wrong part." Hank had been the team joker. But he did just that.

Then he saw Quinn heading out so he decided to follow her a bit.

He had parked his truck a few slots down from her newer SUV. He followed her to her place then parked down the street. He got his plan in place. He remembered she loved burgers. He ordered 2 orders from a chain place down the road then went to her place. After that he grabbed a bunch of flowers.

He knocked on her door. Knowing this was creeper style but not caring.

Quinn was just getting out of the shower when she heard knocking. She quickly dried off and wrapped a towel around her hair. Checked her board on her fridge. Nothing was noted. So she grabbed her piece from her safe.

She checked outside surprised to see Shiloh. Arm loaded with stuff. She set her gun on the shelf next to the door.

"What brought you here?" She asked letting him in.

He followed her to her bathroom while she quickly did her hair. He held up his haul.

"Came to make peace. I didn't end things well and hope to make amends and admit I was a darn fool." He said.

"Shiloh. Are you sure? Let me guess dinner for 2?" She went and secured her weapon.

"Yeah." He said barely whispering.

"Let me grab some plates while you find something on TV.

She grabbed a couple plates then saucer that she put some cake slices on then grabbed 2 glasses of homemade peach iced tea. And brought them out on a tray.

Shiloh had put on a movie. They ate in silence except when he moaned at the things she had added to the meal. When they finished they let the night move on at its own speed. By mid way through the second movie though she looked at him as he was staring at her. He then bent his head and kissed her.

"You're a creepy bastard." His eyes smolder me and his answering grin is nothing short of beautiful. Deadly. "Yet you hunger for me. Tell me, this appetite of yours, does it always tend toward 'creepy bastards'?" **** Widower and ex-boss to the Mafia, Zefiro Della Rocca, has an unhealthy fixation on the woman nextdoor. It began as a coincidence, growing into mere curiosity, and soon, it was an itch he couldn't ignore, like a quick fix of crack for an addict. He didn't know her name, but he knew every inch of her skin, how it flushed when she climaxed, her favourite novel and that every night she contemplated suicide. He didn't want to care, despising his rapt fascination of the woman. She was in love with her abusive husband. She was married, bound by a contract to the Bratva's hitman. She was off-limits. But when Zefiro wanted something, it was with an intensity that bordered on madness. He obsessed, possessed, owned. There'd be bloodshed if he touched her, but the sight of blood always did fascinate him. * When Susanna flees from her husband, she stumbles right into the arms of her devilishly handsome neighbour with a brooding glare. He couldn't stand her, but she needed him, if she was ever going to escape her husband who now wanted her dead. Better the devil you know than the angel you don't. She should have recalled that before hopping into Zefiro's car and letting him whisk her away to Italy. Maybe then, she wouldn't have started an affair with him. He was the only man who touched her right, and the crazy man took no small pains in ensuring he would be the last.
