Chapter 1 The Mafia's Bloody Deal

The sound of gunshot reverberated in the area, two factions exchanging shots. Nightshade empire guide had become a battle field between the members of the Nightshade empire, one of the most powerful Mafia organization in the underground world, and the members of the savage brotherhood. Their sworn enemy.

Dead bodies scattered everywhere, and the surrounding reeked of blood, smoke and gunpowder.

Amidst the chaos happening in the area, a towering figure in a tailored black suit, stood at the edge of the balcony on the second floor of the mansion, his eyes fixed on the carnage below. The glint of his silver cufflinks was the only hint of luxury amidst the bloodshed.

He had just taken down a group of intruders The Mafia's Bloody Deal who had breached the second floor, their lifeless bodies now littering the cold marble. Despite the eerie atmosphere, his broad shoulders and chiseled features exuded an aura of confidence and authority. His piercing blue eyes, however, were devoid of emotion, as cold as the steel of the gun holstered at his side.

He was the epitome of a ruthless mafia leader, and the havoc below was a testament to his unyielding power. As he gazed out at the chaos, his mind was already racing with strategies to protect his organization, the Nightshade Family, from further attacks.

"Big boss, we are running out of weapons, and our men are being slaughtered. I think we should retreat," Ryder, his right-hand man, said with injuries all over his body.

Ryder had come to the second floor to meet him, and his concern was palpable.

"We won't retreat," Xavier coldly stated.

"Call for backup," he added.

"From who, boss?" Ryder asked, his brow furrowed.

"From the Iron Fist Syndicate," Xavier replied, his eyes narrowing.

Ryder's eyes widened slightly, but he didn't question the order. With a nod, he took out his phone and dialed a number.

"Boss Don, we need backup," Ryder said, his voice firm. Here's a rewritten version:

"I knew you guys would finally need my help," Boss Don smirked, his voice dripping with amusement.

"But your boss knows that nothing is free in the underground world," he added, his tone turning serious.

Before Ryder could reply, Xavier snatched the phone from him.

"Just send the fucking backup now, we'll talk about what you want later," Xavier voiced angrily, his patience wearing thin.

"What if you wouldn't be able to do what I ask for?" Don inquired, his voice laced with skepticism.

"You'll have half of my territory," Xavier flared up, his anger and desperation palpable. "Now send the damn backup!"

"Deal then," Don said, his voice firm, before ending the call.

Xavier's eyes scanned the chaos below as he pulled the trigger, taking down another enemy. "Let's hold out, backup will arrive soon," he said to Ryder, his voice calm amidst the mayhem.

Ryder nodded, and together they made their way to the main ground, where the battle raged on. That's when Xavier spotted his nemesis, Adrian Stone, aka Phoenix.

Adrian's eyes locked onto Xavier, a sly smile spreading across his face. "Did you forget about me, Xavier?" he taunted, his voice dripping with malice. "I swore you'd pay for what you did to my fiancée."

Xavier's expression remained icy, his voice even. "One rule of the underground world, Adrian: eliminate distractions, no matter how close they are. Bianca was your weakness. I don't regret taking her out."

Adrian's face twisted in rage, his gun hand trembling. "You'll pay for that, Xavier. Pull the trigger, and let's end this." But before Adrian could fire, Xavier dared him, "Go ahead, Phoenix. Take your best shot."

The sound of gunfire echoed through the area, and everyone turned to see what had happened. Adrian had shot an object behind Xavier, narrowly missing him.

Xavier's laughter sent a chill down Adrian's spine. "You'll never take anything from me, Phoenix. I have nothing to lose."

Just then, the sound of gunfire intensified, and Adrian's men began to fall. "Retreat! Retreat!" Adrian shouted, his eyes wide with panic.

Ryder let out a sigh of relief. "Finally, backup arrived."

Xavier turned to Ryder. "Gather the injured and get them treated. Prepare a mass burial for our fallen men, and notify their families."

As Xavier disappeared into the mansion, a knock at the door broke the silence. A nervous-looking man entered, his eyes fixed on Xavier.

"Our boss requests a meeting with you at his office tomorrow at 8 am," the man announced, his voice trembling.

Xavier's gaze narrowed. "Tell him I'll be there at 10 am." The man hesitated, but Xavier's cold stare silenced him. "Just deliver the message," Xavier said, his voice firm.

Mrs. Olivia stood outside the closed door, her ear pressed against it as she eavesdropped on the conversation within. The Don, a man in his late forties with a reputation for ruthlessness, spoke in a low tone.

"So, what do you intend to ask from Xavier as a return for your favor?" his right-hand man, a man in his early forties, asked. The Don's response was simple, yet calculated. "He's the perfect match for Claire."

His right-hand man's confusion was palpable. "Do you mean you're going to ask Xavier to marry your daughter?"

The Don's gaze narrowed, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Is there any other explanation for what I said?"

He poured himself another glass of whiskey, his movements deliberate. "Claire's running wild. I need someone like Xavier Sinclair to rein her in, to prevent her from tarnishing our family's reputation."

Mrs. Olivia's eyes widened in excitement as she absorbed the information. She turned to tiptoe away from the door, her heart racing with anticipation.

Just then, Olov, The Don's messenger, appeared beside her. "You never saw me here," she whispered, her voice trembling with excitement.

Olov nodded firmly before knocking on the door. "Boss, Mr. Xavier says he'll be at your office by 10 am."

The Don's husky laughter sent a shiver down Olov's spine. "He can never change," he said, downing the glass in his hand. He dismissed Olov with a wave of his hand, his eyes glinting with a calculating intensity.
