Chapter 1 The Cinema
I walked into the Cinema searching for my man, he had promised to be here before 6pm. I looked around from one corner of the hall to another exchanging pleasantries with acquaintance in the process but not willing to ask anyone about him. The music from the speakers was playing out softly, loud enough to hear the lyrics and soft enough to hear every conversation in the hall. I didn't pay much attention to the lyrics as my attention was on finding the one my heart beats for.
After searching tirelessly for over twenty minutes, finding him was futile. I walked towards an empty seat that was next in view feeling dizzy and totally drained. I brought out my phone to reach out to him again. I slowly dialed his number and closed my eyes to say a short prayer for a miracle to happen, before I could open my eyes, the call disconnected with a notice written boldly in my phone 'customer not available at the moment'. By now I resigned to my fate, and agreed within me that nothing will stop me from enjoying the movie that will be shown tonight.
The hall was now quiet, the music has been stopped and the movie was about to commence in the next ten minutes. I shifted my gaze from the stage to the entrance and I saw Rodri. 'Yes! He is here!' I exclaimed out, loud enough for the person seated beside me to hear. I felt like running out to hug him and tell him how much I have been yearning for his presence. But instead I sat still, waving my two hands and whistling in order to capture his attention. Everyone's attention was turned to me rather. I felt a bit embarrassed but was overwhelmed by the joy that gladdens my heart. Rodri walked across to me, he kissed my forehead briefly and settled on the chair that was next to mine.' I'm sorry babe for coming late, I had an emergency' he said 'apology accepted love' I replied. My strength was now refilled, the dizziness, pains, and frustration were all gone as I stared at him right in the eyes.
"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to tonight's cinema, grab some refreshments and enjoy as the movie has just begun" the moderator announced. I leaned towards Rodri and whispered to him "Thanks for the invitation" he smiled and responded by kissing my cheeks.
