Blurb A perfect life was not what Scarlett had but things were not so cruel, money and influence were not a problem but self-esteem was because of her body fat. Her first love Jericho married her cause of her family wealth, his family didn't hide the fact that they hated her except for the grandmother who loved her. Mia Moore, Jericho's sister eventually got an opportunity to get rid of her and she didn't miss it. They jubilated and took everything that belonged to her, however, Scarlett came back from the dead as their worst nightmare
Scarlett's eyes flickered as she listened to the doctor's report, her voice was barely audible as she asked. "What did you say?"
She had heard him for the first time but just wanted to be sure, she wanted to confirm what she had heard.
With a light sigh the doctor repeated his words gently. "You are not pregnant, Mrs. Morre."
How? That was the question she asked herself, she was careful this time. She did all she could and tried everything in her power to make sure it would be successful this time, what went wrong?
"Are you sure?" She asked as she searched the doctor's eyes for some sort of humor, she could be pulling a fast one on her.
"Yes, we checked three times and the results are the same," she responded calmly. "We will suggest IVF if it..."
Scarlett cut the doctor off immediately. "My husband won't agree to that," she said and the doctor nodded.
Her legs were heavy as she walked out of the hospital feeling hopeless, over a year now she has been praying and hoping to get pregnant but nothing of such seems to be happening.
Jericho was Scarlett's dream man throughout our college and immediately she confessed her feelings he accepted to her surprise.
She believed no man would want to be with her because of her shape, she was the biggest lady she knew and everyone always made fun of her. She was not even pretty, she could put on makeup or wear a prom dress because none would fit her.
They got married couple of months after their graduation, Scarlett's mom funded Jericho's company and helped him get most of his investors little did Scarlett know that was all he wanted from her.
"We are home miss," The driver informed her and a faint smile appeared on her face as she reached for the door and opened it.
With a heavy heart she walked into the mansion, wondering if anyone will ask about her appointment. Just like Jericho none of his family members cared about her, they all treated her like dirt and body shame at her at every chance.
"How was your doctor's appointment, dear?" Brenda, her grandmother-in-law asked as she took a seat on the couch.
A happy smile appeared on her face for a minute, though life has been a living hell she was greatful someone in the family cared about her.
"It was a negative, grandma," she replied with a broken heart.
Laughter echoed in the room almost immediately and she turned to find her sister-in-law Mia walking down the stairs with her cheeks widened and her white teeth were so revealing.
"What were you expecting, Scarlett? That a baby would want to come through you?" Mia mocked as she closed the space between them.
"Stop that Mia!" Brenda scolded. "Your sister-in-law is heartbroken already, you should not add to her pain."
"Come on grandma. People like her don't have kids you know why? Her fatness has overshadowed her womb," she laughed hysterically while Scarlett stared at the ground hurtfully.
It hurts that she is starting to consider Mia's words, could it be because of her body shape? Would she have a better chance of carrying a baby if she wasn't so big?
"Stop trying so hard Scarlett, or you will keep getting hurt," Mia smiled mischievously at her before walking away.
"Don't think too much about what she said, she is a kid," Brenda consoled her.
"Thank you, grandma," she appreciated the woman. "I will be in my room," she excused herself.

A HOTEL
Jericho sat up on the bed and heaved a sigh after checking the time, the girl beside him frowned immediately he reached for his shirt which was on the lampstand.
It must have ended up there while they were impatient to have a taste of themselves.
"Are you leaving already?" Sheila dragged the duvet to her chest as she sat up resting her back on the bed board.
"It's almost time for dinner, I have to go home," he replied while she rolled her eyes.
"I haven't seen you for two days and we barely spent four hours together and you want to leave already," she spoke.
"I will make it up to you," he curled his hand behind her neck and pulled her in for a kiss which she reluctantly succumbed to.
"Do you promise?" She asked and he nodded swiftly before letting go of her, he buttoned up his shirt and wore his trousers before going to check himself out in the mirror.
"There's something I want to talk to you about," Sheila wore her singlet and got out of bed too, she took a letter from her bag and gave it to him.
"You are pregnant?" He asked surprised.
"Aren't you happy?" Sheila asked, displeased at his emotion.
"I am happy," he responded swiftly while his finger was clutched to the letter, happiness wasn't the right word to describe his feelings but he sure wasn't mad about it.
"Are you going to kick your wife out now and marry me? She is no longer useful for you, I am carrying your child something she hasn't been able to give you for the past two years," Sheila said as she pouted cutely.
"I can't do that yet, I need a solid reason for my divorce," he said in response.
"Solid reason? She is barren, what other solid reason do you want?" She questioned folding her arm on her chest.
She has been going out with him for months but she doesn't understand why he won't divorce his wife for her, she is carrying his child now. She has the upper hand but he still doesn't want to make it count
"I have to go now," he pecked her forehead and left the room with the letter in his pocket.
Sheila stood angrily in front of the mirror before a smile appeared on her face while she rubbed her tummy gently. "I will have you to myself Jericho."
