There have been no days of happiness for a youthful omega, Ashly Campbell. Life becomes extra hell as she's sold to the Pack's leader by her parents for marriage. However, she encounters her mate, the night before her wedding who turns out to be her soon-to-be husband's son, Arthur Robertson. What happens when they both decide to accept their bond and hide their relationship? Will they ever get the freedom they crave or will their relationship become the beginning of a new hell for both lives?
In one of the bustling cities of the Netherlands, the city of Amsterdam, I desperately seek to find my woman.
I've been searching for her for months and today I finally got a tip that she's here in De Pijp.
A lively district filled with so many stores of which I expect to find her in one.
"It's the great Alpha, what is he doing here?"
I hear people whisper as I walk into various stores in search of that one person, the one that stole my heart, the woman that has been destined for me by the goddess.
I'm too busy going from store to store to mind my status, I don't care what my people see me as, a desperate man searching for another man's wife, a cheater, a foolish ruler, I don't care, all I care about is getting my mate back, that is all I wish for, to inhale that floral scent of Jasmine.
To hold her in my arms and plead for her forgiveness.
I was wrong, I should have never thrown those bad words at her, I should have stopped her from defecting the pack.
I was pathetic but now I won't let the chance slip past me, I will bring her home with me and make her my Luna.
I'm breathing hard, I haven't taken a stop in my search and the sun is starting to go down, I'm slowly beginning to lose hope of finding her.
It's like the goddess is keeping her away from me.
"Sir, would you like me to put her up as missing all over the district?" Cassius, my Beta asks, his tone laced with concern.
I exhale with resignation as I turn to Cassius who has been searching all over the district with me, his face is flushed, clearly exhausted from the endless walk and runs.
I didn't have to think on his suggestions to give him an answer. I know my omega;
I know the woman I fell in love with. She won't be comfortable if she finds her face on the billboard, she would hate me more if she finds out I'm paying people to search for her.
"There's no need for that" I say, my gaze shifting to admire the clouds as my thoughts drift away.
Even though deep down I want to lean towards his suggestion, I can't afford to get her to hate me more than she does already.
If I have to win her back, then I just need to be patient and wait for her.
If the goddess wants us to reunite, she will bring my mate back to me.
"Sir?" I hear Cassius call, causing my gaze to shift back to him.
"It seems we have found her," Cassius informs.
A rush of emotions floods through me, hope, guilt, excitement, and relief all tangled together in the pit of my stomach.
My heart begins to pound against my chest as I trace Cassius' gaze to one of the stores we are yet to search.
And there she is, her long ginger-colored hair packed up in a messy bun, her pale skin still glowing softly in the light of the setting sun.
A smile creeps to my face without me knowing, my gaze is fixed on the glass café, where she's standing, dressed in a server uniform, attending to a customer seated.
My steps are slow as I approach the café.
The world fades into the background as all I can see is my mate, the woman I've been in search of for months.
My fingers wrap around the glass door handle to the café, as I open it slowly, my nostrils taking the intoxicating fragrance of Jasmine leaves, spinning my senses and pulling me in, closer and closer to her.
My heart racing faster with every step, nostalgia hitting me hard as I recall our past moments together before it all came crashing down, before we both lost it all, before we sacrificed our happiness for others.
"Alpha Arthur, It's truly him" I heard some whisper from behind.
One step and another and then I halt, my brows furrowing as I watch the sight in front of me unfold.
The customer being attended to by my mate has his hands on her. His filthy hands are running up her back thighs, and although my mate is clearly in discomfort, the bastard is too much of an asshole to notice.
Rage begins to build within me, intense and consuming me as a whole, my chest begins to tighten as heat rises throughout my body.
I can feel my sense of control suddenly slipping out of my grasp as my gaze is fixed on the filthy hands.
Rationality fades as I approach them, my purpose of coming here long forgotten as the urge to crush those filthy hands and dismember his body clouds my mind.
Without thinking, I reach out for his hand pulling it away from my mate and twisting it so hard that he cries out.
"How dare you lay your hand on what's mine?"
I growl, glaring at the man crying out in pain below me.
Slowly he falls to his knees in pain but his hand is still at my mercy as I feel his bone crush in my grip.
"Alpha, I didn't, n-no, no, I'm" He stammers and I crush his wrist harder, twisting his hand further, my whole body consumed by rage as I fail to notice the terrified gaze from my side and also the gasp from people behind me.
"I will make sure you will never be able to use these hands again" I snarl at him, furious that he's still able to utter a word.
"I-I'm sorry Alpha, I- I didn't know she-"
His voice adds to the fury simmering within me, and before I can process it, my arm is already swinging to strike a blow to his face.
But a loud, clear, and urgent voice suddenly cuts through, demanding my attention and stopping me in my tracks.
"Arthur!" She screams
My eyes widen in realization as my senses return.
I quickly turn to meet the ocean blue eyes, the pair that I love the most, the owner who has engraved herself to my heart.
However, my heart drops at the expression that paints her face.
Without words from her, I can tell she's disappointed with me, she never liked me being aggressive and here I am.
"Ashly" I mutter, trying to reach out to her seeing tears slip down her rosy cheeks as she takes a step back, creating a distance between us. Her head shaking in disbelief mixed with disappointment.
"Don't" She lifts a finger, clearly warning me. My hands drop to my side as I witness the pain in her eyes, an unwelcoming wave washing over me bringing with a heavy sinking sensation.
"Ashly" I whisper her name, hoping she listens to me.
But she doesn't give me a chance to speak.
"Why are you doing this Arthur? Can't you just let me go?" she cries bitterly.
"Please just hear me out" I plead, reaching out to hold her but she takes another step back hurting me more.
"Arthur don't do this, please let's not make this harder than it already is."
The pain is evident in her tone, but I can tell for sure she doesn't mean those words, I'm certain a part of her still wants me.
I try to close the gap between us again but this time she unpins the tag on her T-shirt and trashes it on the table before rushing out of the glass doors.
I feel my heart sink deeper, déjà vu hitting me hard as I watch her run out of the glass door.
This is the third time she's running away from me, and the last time, I let her go.
But not this time, I won't lose her again. I don't care if the goddess says otherwise, I will get my omega back.
I will get my Ashly to love me again.
