Chapter 1 The betrayal
So what if you are the real daughter of the Zu's?" said Sonia, with a knife in her hand moving towards Emily. "Everything of the Zu's is mine now!! If you want to blame anybody, then blame yourself for coming into this family," said Sonia to Emily, who was shivering and moving backward.
"What wrong....what...have I done to you?" Emily asked her.
"I...I..left everything for you, so why are you still after my life? I have given up my family and inheritance; why do you still want my life?" Said Emily.
"That is because you might decide to fight back!! one day, Emily,so you must die now to avoid any future issues.
"Enough of the chit-chat, now die, Emily!" said Sonia as she tried to stab Emily with the knife.
Emily held Sonia's hand before the knife could reach her, and they both started struggling with the knife.
Immediately, their parents rushed in, screaming Sonia's name, and Sonia accidentally stabbed herself when she heard our parents scream her name, making our parents think it was Emily who stabbed her.
."Sister, I didn't expect you to hate me this much. Why would you want to take my life?" said Sonia, feigning innocence.
"Dad, it's not me, believe me, I would never do anything to hurt my sister," Emily said, looking at her dad to see if he would believe her.
"You evil daughter! I regret the day you were brought into this house from the slums!" Emily's mom said, pushing her down the stairs. She rolled down, bleeding profusely from my head.
"Mum, I ... .I... know Sister is sad because I took her identity for over a decade, but I never knew she hated me to the point of wanting to kill me." Sonia said feigning weakness.
"Mum, please don't blame her. It's not her fault; it's...it's my fault for taking everything that belongs to her," Sonia said with a smirk on her face.
"You wicked child!" my mum said, rushing down the stairs to hit me. "I hate the fact that you are my daughter.
"You wouldn't have come back to this house; you are so evil and wicked," said Emily's elder brother, who was just watching everything unfold.
"Whyyyyy!! Why!!!! Why am I the one suffering all this when I'm also your daughter? Why, mother, tell me why?" Emily said weakly, sobbing.
"Leave that evil child! Let's take Sonia to the hospital; she is bleeding out," Emily's mum said, carrying Sonia to the hospital while leaving Emily on the cold floor to bleed out.
Just then, her first love, who is also her fiancé, Williams, came in, and she saw a ray of hope.
"Help me, Williams; please save me. I don't want to die; please help me," she said with a shivering voice.
"You deserve to die, Emily. You are occupying the position of the Zu's heiress, which is the only reason I'm stuck with you instead of being with the one I truly love, which is Sonia," William said to her face.
"Why!!! Why is everyone I love against me? Why has everyone turned against me?" She said in a cracking voice.
"Let me help you ease all your pain," said William as he used a table knife to stab her in the chest.
"Aaah!!!!!" She screamed in pains as she saw life stripping away from her body.
"Let me tell you a little secret before you die," William said, whispering into her ear. "The one who really loved you and has been protecting you secretly wasn't me; it was Anthony Wellington, the wealthiest bachelor in New York. The man you hated the most was the one protecting you. Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!" William laughed mockingly at me. "And guess what? You killed him."
"How?" She asked in shock as life was seeping away from her.
"Ask him that when you get to hell; now it's time for you to die," he said as he removed the knife from my body and stabbed me again.
"If I were given another chance, I would make sure I rewrite my story," she said before giving up the ghost.
"Mum, I'm in pain. I feel like I'm losing too much blood. Please tell brother to drive faster," said Sonia.
"Harry, please drive faster; I can't afford to lose your sister; she is the star of this family!" Emily's mum said.
They got to the hospital with Harry carrying Sonia in his hands, screaming,
"Doctor, please come and attend to my sister; she is bleeding out! Please save her; she is all we have!" Harry said to the doctor.
"Okay, please wait while I attend to her," the doctor said, taking Sonia to the emergency ward.
"If anything happens to Sonia, I will kill that evil child," my dad said.
"Calm down, Dad. Stop pacing around; you are making me feel drowsy. I know Sonia will be fine; she is a very strong girl. I know my sister very well," said Harry to his dad.
Just then, the doctor walked out of the emergency ward. "Doctor! Doctor!" they all chorused, rushing towards the doctor.
"How is she? How is my daughter doing?" my mum asked the doctor, with tears streaming down her cheeks.
"She is very okay; the stab was not serious; it didn't touch any vital organs. She is perfectly okay; just that she is asleep and will be awake in the next few hours," the doctor said.
"Thank goodness she is okay," my mum said.
"Can we see her now?" my brother asked. "Yes, you can, but try not to disturb her sleep."
"Okay, thanks, doctor," said my dad. "Don't mention it; it's my work," said the doctor. They all walked into Sonia's ward.
"Oh, my precious daughter, I'm so happy you are very fine," Emily's mum said while caressing Sonia's sleeping face.
Bing!!, bing!!, bing!!, my dad's phone rang. "Why is the ungrateful girl calling me? After trying to kill her sister, she still has the courage to call me," my dad said angrily and ended the call.
Bing!!, bing!!, bing!!, the call kept coming in, and finally, he decided to pick up. "Emily, what is it?" he questioned.
"What?" he screamed, startling his wife and son. "What do you mean Emily is dead?" he said with a little shock mixed with guilt on his face.
"I'm coming there now," he said and ended the call. "I'm going back home now; the maid called to tell me that Emily is dead," he said.
"How did it happen? It was just a little scratch on her head when we left her at home. How did she end up dead?" Emily's mum said, with guilt written all over her.
"Why do I feel that this is one of her tricks to make us come rushing home?" said my brother.
"The maid wouldn't risk her job for that useless girl," their mum reasoned.
"Let me go home to find out what is really happening," their dad said, as he left the hospital, rushing home to confirm the news.
A few hours later, my body was laid to rest.
"Only if you were trained by me from childbirth, you wouldn't have been this useless. You would have been a star like Sonia," Emily's mum said.
"I wish you were never my sister," her brother said. "Finally, I can have Sonia to myself," William, her fiancé, said with a smirk on his face.
"Now everything is mine: the love, the properties, everything," Sonia said with a smirk and a look of victory on her face, because she has won-or so she thought.
