In the mystical realm of ' Sorgoh ', a hidden world of Angels existed in harmony, veiled from mortal eyes. However, beneath the facade of serenity, a complex web of secrets and deceit simmered, threatening to unleash its fury. And then the tranquility was shattered by a heinous crime: a murder that shook the very foundations of the haven of Angels. The accused Angel was swiftly apprehended and put on trial, culminating in a verdict of exile – a fate worse than death. Cast out of ' Sorgoh ', the Angel plummeted into the mortal realm, her essence bruised and battered. As she struggled to come to terms with her fall, a burning desire for vindication and restoration ignited within her. Seeking redemption, she turned to mortals for aid, asking for their assistance in reclaiming her former glory and unraveling the tangled threads of deceit that had led to her downfall. The mortals agreed to help, but their support came at a steep price; their fates would be forever intertwined with the Angel's, binding them to the intricate web of ' Sorgoh's ' internal politics. As they navigated this treacherous landscape, the boundaries between truth and deception blurred, and ancient secrets, forgotten lore, and hidden agendas awaited them. Their quest for redemption would be fraught with peril, and the cost would be higher than they had ever imagined.

Chapter 1 The Murder

Flickering fire torches cast her huge shadows on the sleek corridor walls. A petite, mystical being emerged from the darkness, her long robe whispering against the polished floor. A halo of light encircled her head, radiating more brilliance than the torches.

As she floated towards her destination, slender fingers combed through her shoulder-length silver hair, characteristic of all the likes of her. She sighed, disappointment etched on her face, " I suppose it won't grow longer now. "

Her gaze drifted, seeking answers. Perhaps ' Ojha ' knew the secret to lengthening her locks. Pink lips, tinged with a hint of vulnerability, were caught between her teeth as she pondered the unknown.

Her short hair was indeed a great disappointment to her.

Suddenly, her steps towards the physician's chamber halted, when faint whispers echoed from the dark alleyway adjacent to the corridor.

She'd never tried to venture out of those regions. But now, the unexplored path, shrouded in mystery, beckoned her. Tentative steps led her towards the unknown, as curiosity ignited within her.

Despite the darkness emanating from the room, she felt an inexplicable pull to proceed. As she ventured deeper, a sliver of light appeared at the far end of the alleyway. The passageway, much to her surprise, led to the palace's rear, and she stepped into the open space involuntarily, in search of something more.

That's when, her search came to an end. Two dark figures caught her attention. One knelt, while the other loomed over the previous one.

As she drew closer, her heart sank, since she realised that the kneeling figure was her father and before she could recognise the other one-

A loud gasp escaped her mouth.

The standing one, shrouded in shadows, plunged a customised dagger into her father's back.

Her shocked sound echoed through the air, alerting the two men to her presence. Both of them turned to look at her. One with pain and grief, another with a scorching eyes.

Her father, struggling to breathe, cried out, " Run, Asteria! " no more words came out, as he choked on his own blood and collapsed on the ground with a low thud.

Asteria's heart shattered at her father's fate, but instinct urged her to flee. Before she could gather her wits, the dark figure closed in.

In an instant, the world around her dissolved into chaos. A dull haze enveloped her senses, leaving only the echoes of a piercing ring in her ears and a searing ache at the base of her skull.

"Carroll Brown is dead! But you have to marry him in your sister's name." My mother said to me in a cold tone. My sister was engaged to the hottest billionaire. It should have been a perfect marriage. Unexpectedly, Carroll was dead in an accident. My sister didn't want to become a widow, so she forced me to marry her dead fiance. And I had no right to refuse her. Actually, I was the biological daughter of the Smith family. My sister was an adoptive one. My sister and I had been swapped at the hospital when we were just born. My parents had already had a deep relationship with her. So they chose to sacrifice me. On the wedding day, I was taken to the mourning hall. "Ma'am, please keep Master company and let him feel warm." The housekeeper said with a cold expression. I couldn't help but look up at the portrait above the coffin, and my heart skipped a beat at this glance. The man in the portrait was more handsome than the superstars in Hollywood. Carroll Brown? My dead husband? Wow, he was really handsome! I didn't know how long had passed when my stomach began to rebel. After one glance at the coffin, I swallowed my saliva and then begged with my fingers crossed. "Mr. Carroll, I'm starving! May I eat your pastries? You don't mind, do you?" "I do." "Ah!" Scared, I broke out in a cold sweat. My legs went limp, and I fell to the ground. I shouted, "Ghost!" Carroll curled his lips, leaned over, and touched the black coffin. "Mr. Carroll has risen from the dead. What do you think of this headline tomorrow?"
