Chapter 1 Life in the palace

Chapter One

Glasgow, Scotland, 1988

It was a cool night. Mishael lay on his bed, looking up at the ceiling of his room. Of course, this day was bound to come, he thought to herself.

It was a normal day, and by normal, he meant his usual routine of sitting calmly like a proper teenage boy should and stitching bloody parasols -- they were eventually bloody by the time he finished with them. He had never been able to manage through a complete stitching without pricking his finger so many times that whatever it was he was sowing had to be washed thoroughly by the servants before it could be used, or even thrown away.

Bloody hell!

He was supposed to be running around celebrating, he had just been accepted into the Helen Crowther academy for people with special abilities, both male and female, Noble and poor. He had won. He had always wanted to be a warrior and not some silly blushing boy who knew nothing more than stitch parasols and play silly tunes on pianofortes.

"I need rest" he thought to himself. He will be off in three days.

Tomorrow would be a big day, as expected, going to the dressmaker, also getting some boots for the battlefield, packing.

The light was off the next morning, Mishael wondered who dared turn it off as he knew everyone in that castle knows he likes his light being on all day for a peculiar reason he wouldn't announce to them.

He had instantly thought of telling them why he doesn't turn off his lights to sleep.

As you would think, Mishael isn't afraid of the dark.

Noo!!.. That would be belittling the dark, Mishael is terrified of the dark, so he keeps his lights on.

The reluctance he felt in having a bath was due not to today's running around only, but the fact he wouldn't be having a nice day for himself.

He quickly pulled off his clothes, as he ordered his servants to prepare him a warm bath.

Mishael had a towel wrapped around his little body as he thought of what to put on.

He looked at himself in the mirror one last time after he had put on little cream.

He usually doesn't do much, just the essential cream.

After Mishael was done, he glanced down at his phone,

" Shit!! 8:14 am", Father's going to scream his name in 5,4,3,2.

"Mishael! Mishael!. Get yourself down in this instance," Father shouted.

Mishael ran down the stairs almost immediately, and into the kitchen where he was met with a meal by his older sister.

Ellie had prepared him a special meal instead of a servant. He went back up to his bedroom as usual as he couldn't get sight of her.

Mishael had rushed his breakfast, eggs and warm milk then shouted back to his Father.

"Father, I'm ready, I'll be out front". Misahel said as he usually keeps his words short.

"Ok, Miles, meet us at the door front right now!" Father had said to his elder brother as he walked out the front door.

King Simone had a carriage out the lawn as soon as possible, as they rode around town in preparations for Mishaels new beginning. They had a maid and two servants accompany them. They continued the journey for about half the day, as the dressmaker had to perfect all Mishael's dresses.

The carriage had arrived back at King Simone's home just after the sun had gone down. The servants rushed to help out with the luggage they had brought back, and the servants followed him up to his room.

The servants had prepared him a bath and washed him, for as long as two hours, since he requested a massage after all.

As early as the first crow, Father had let the maids prepare Mishael the best they could, he wouldn't want his son's lateness to give him a bad reputation.

The maids went into Mishael's room and had him wide awake as they had prepared a nice bath for him. They also had his hair and his feet washed properly. As they dressed him up in an elegant way.

The son of a nobleman, they all had in mind. His father was the best warrior and the King of Ace Realm; the most strongest and powerful realm, no one dared mess with him and go Scot free.

People feared King Simone of Ace Realm. He was known to be ruthless as people from every nook and cranny of the countryside knew what he was like.

Mishael was dressed nobly, he didn't get to dress in a warrior dress not until the school of training had addressed them all. The maids had done a great job as his Father the King had an appealing look on his face as he came down the stairs with the servants and a maid behind him carrying all of his luggage to the carriage which was prepared to travel to them.

Mishael was out the door alongside his father the King, his older brother Miles, and his older sister Queen Ellie, as he said his quick goodbyes to them all and went back into the Ace castle even before they had left.

Prince Miles helped his brother up the carriage, as the maid helped with his clothes into the carriage. The servants had gotten all of their luggage into the carriage. They had left afterward. The journey took a while as Mishael looked out the carriage.

The sky was so blue. They had passed through a lake as he saw how nice the water was and he saw some swarms swimming. He loved the sight and wished he could be there staring at them for a while, but the carriage moved faster. He was so tired. He had a break during the journey as he closed her eyes and slept off for a while. His brother, Prince Miles had his head up his shoulder as he noticed he was feeling uncomfortable.

King Simone looked at the beautiful sight before him but had to do what he had to, let them go, it was for their good, their success he thought, he stared for a long time before thinking of something else. They had all gotten to the training school, and as the carriage moved to stop, Mishael woke up, he took a look at how huge and beautiful the school had looked before taking his brother's hand to let him down the carriage. The maid's servants had wanted to help him with his luggage to the dorm but he insisted on letting just him and his maid only, as he didn't want anyone noticing him with them.

He had had his family agree with him on keeping a low profile. He waved them goodbye as he struggled with his luggage to the front hall before going into his dorm. His maid was behind him.

Mishael had gotten in, realizing he was the only one in it, his supposed roommate hadn't arrived yet. He had instructed his maid to help him with unpacking hia luggage.

Miles had the servants carry his luggage to the males' dorm after Mishael had disappeared into his.

The servants had wanted to help him in unpacking, but he refused as he ushered them out back to his father. They were all ordered not to let any servants or maids stay with all who had come to the training school. The maid and servant had come back to the carriage and met with the King as they reported the state to him, he sighed and ordered they leave now.

Mishael had retired for the night as he was too tired to make any more arrangements. So he bathed himself and had a rest.

"This is so loud! What the heck was that!" Mishael had woken up to the sound of something unknown to him, just to realize it was no animal but a siren to help with their lateness and each person's laziness.

"Oh, well, great. Father hadn't told me the devilish side effect of this school". Mishael got out of bed as he did his morning routine with no servant's help to wash up or prepare, well as fast as he could this time, he did his best to do it alone and he succeeded.

Once done, he rushed out straight after getting his glasses and his spell book of course, as he tried to miss his step to fall, because he was hurriedly walking.

2 Hours Later;

With a heavy heartache, he had thought how nice the school would be if only they had written boldly on the letter of acceptance

"BEWARE OF THE SUICIDAL MISSION AS PART OF YOUR SCHOOL LIFE"

Mishael had grumbled silently, as his name still hadn't been called. Just then, he heard a small laugh behind him, he bowed his head as he felt embarrassed, blaming himself.

"I'm Lina, '' a female voice said from behind him. Mishael almost jumped out of lane, as he got scared by the voice.

"Don't do that" Mishael turned back with an angry face as he turned back to tell the girl.

Almost immediately, he heard his name being called out aloud.

"Mishael Khalid, Lina Gather" the storekeeper had called out as well as three more names Mishael didn't care about. He had no choice but to use "Khalid" as his surname.

Mishael rushed into the store and was met by the bookkeepers who ushered them in.

She had given him the list of his books, as well as his training room and all he would be needing.

After getting all he needed, he directed himself along with others to the training room and settled in and got to make friends, actually just friendly people who wished to talk with other people.
