Chapter 1 Episode One

Seraphine's POV

You don't deserve to be my wife or be the Luna of Frost Wind clan pack; you disgust me! "This is a statement I'm used to hearing from my husband, Alpha Orion, who couldn't reject me as his mate because, as the newly chosen Alpha of the Frost Wind clan pack, he has to be married to prove to the pack he's capable of leading the pack.

Growing up without parents, my childhood dream was to have a beautiful life. But everything changed when I was unexpectedly chosen as the Alpha's fated mate.

My uncle, who raised me after my parents' death, never encouraged me to develop my wolf skills. Despite my eagerness to train with my cousin, he insisted I was "special" and didn't need to hone my abilities. As time passed, I lost interest in training and never gave it much thought.

However, my life changed for the worse when I married Alpha Orion of the Frostwind Clan pack, our pack. He constantly criticized my weakness, mocking me in front of the enforcers and younger wolves who worked in our mansion. His relentless jabs made me feel like a laughingstock.

My cousin Selene has been a constant source of comfort and strength in my life. Growing up together was a blessing, as she always protected me from bullies and any other harm at all. Her father, my uncle, trained her well, and she grew into a powerful and skilled wolf.

When the news spread that the moon goddess had chosen a mate from our family, everyone assumed it would be Selene. She was the obvious choice, with her strength, beauty, and courage, but shockingly, I was revealed to be his fated mate.

I wish I wasn't.

Even if Selene wasn't chosen, she didn't stop loving me. She stood by me, becoming my closest confidant.

I gazed out the window, the gentle breeze carried the whispers of the trees. I had spent the morning doing countless chores; after it was all done, I decided to rest for a while, so I retired to my room.

But my sleep didn't last. I heard a loud bang on the door that startled me awake and I sat up quickly. The door opened, and Alpha Orion came in, staring at me angrily.

His eyes were blazing with fury and his face was twisted. He was breathing hard. I could tell that I was in trouble, again.

He walked right to me as though he'd pounce on me and scold me. "You're a wolf-less wolf, without any ability," he spat. "Your presence disgusts me! I want you out of this mansion, relocated to one of my smaller estates. Seeing you every day is a steady reminder of my disappointment."

"Ahh..." I muttered softly, feeling my heart ache. I had given him my all; I did everything to change his mind about me and, at least, see me as his mate, but I failed. He hated me even more. Sometimes, I cry and yell at the moon goddess for making me unfortunate.

I was bad luck itself.

Alpha Orion's anger seemed to boil over as he saw tears slightly trickling down my cheek. He swiped his hands across my face, and my chooks burned. He slapped quite hard. I stared at him in shock. Wondering what I had done to deserve this, I mean, I did all the chores, so why this?

"Why are you so shocked?" He asked angrily. "I only tolerate you because the moon goddess forced you on me, and I thought that maybe... just maybe, you might prove useful someday. But it's clear now that you're a waste of space here; you can't be anything like my Luna; you act exactly like a slave, just as you were born to be."

I felt winded like I'd been slammed into a wall. My words stuck in my throat.

My gaze fell and I fought very hard to hold back myself from wailing. I had reached my breaking point. But I held myself, trying to put my act together, I didn't want things to get messy.

"Okay," I whispered.

That was the only word I could find at that moment. I took a step, wanting to start packing, but I felt a force holding me back, pushing me to at least, for once, speak up for myself, ask questions, and not just be as obedient as a slave. Maybe he'll find me brave and change his mind.

"Why must I leave the mansion?" I asked, my voice trembling with fear. "As Luna, don't I deserve to stay here? Is there another reason you're forcing me out?"

I didn't dare meet his gaze, aware of the gravity of my actions. I had crossed a line, one he had drawn when I became Luna: never question him, never talk back, just obey. But this time, I didn't want to just obey, I needed an answer.

Alpha Orion's eyes blazed with fury, his face purpling with rage. "What!? How dare you question me?" he thundered. "I am your Alpha, and you owe me respect! You owe me every fucking thing! Including your body, soul, and spirit. Even your useless life! !" His words sent shivers down my spine and I began to tremble.

He stepped closer to me, and his warm breath danced across my skin; I immediately started to sweat profusely, my entire body quivering. I knew what I had gotten myself into and I wasn't ready to dance to it. I swiped at my sweaty face with the back of my palm, feeling a trickle of fear run down my spine. I dropped to my knees, the words "I'm sorry" tumbling out of my mouth before I knew it.

"P...please, Alpha Orion, forgive me," I begged, my voice shaking uncontrollably. "I... I... I didn't mean to question your authority. It won't happen again, I promise."

Tears streamed down my face as I spoke, my body shuddering with fear. I could feel his anger radiating towards me, and I knew I had to appease him.

"Forgive me, please," I repeated, my voice cracking with desperation. "I'll do anything, just please don't hurt me."

He didn't say a word, he just stared at me as though he'd tear me apart any moment, and next, he just clenched his fist and slammed it into the wall, the sound echoing through the room.

A warm trickle of urine spread through my pants.

At that moment, I knew I was done for and could lose my life any minute. I darted to my massive wardrobe and began packing my clothes and essentials into a bag, my focus laser-sharp. It was as if I was the only person in the room, and I deliberately avoided looking up to see if Alpha Orion had left.

I did a mental calculation on how I'll survive there. The shame and humiliation accompanied by the life of a Luna sent out of her lair was disheartening, and the fact that I argued with him even made it worse.

"You're forbidden from setting foot in this mansion again," he declared. "My mistress will be moving in with me." He added.

Immediately he said those words, my heart dropped into my stomach. My mouth widened in shock. I tried to get words out but they couldn't flow through. I felt like something was stuffed down my throat.

Damn!
