Chapter 1 The Perfect life
Emily Wilson gazed lovingly at the diamond engagement ring on her finger, feeling like the luckiest woman alive. She and her fiance Jack have been together since college and their relationship has been a whirl wind romance from the start.
As he began to prepare dinner in their cozy apartment, Emily's mind wandered to their upcoming wedding. They had planned a beautiful summer ceremony at a vineyard, surrounded by their closet friends and family . . . Emily's sister, Sarah,was going to be the maid of Honor and Jack's best friend,Alex, would be
standing by his side as the best man.
The door opened, and Jack walked in, flashing his charming smile. "Hey, beautiful," he said, dropping a kiss on Emily's cheek." How was your day?"
Emily turned to face him, feeling a flutter in her chest."it was great', she replied. " I finalized the wedding flowers and confirmed the catering. Everything is coming together perfectly."
Jack's eyes sparkled with excitement."I knew you'd make an amazing wedding planner," he said, pulling Emily into a hug."I'm the luckiest man alive to have you as my fiancee"
As they hugged, Emily felt a sense of contentment wash over her
Jack pulled back and smiled at her and said
" I need to make a quick call"
Emily nodded and continued preparing dinner as Jack stepped into the living room to make his call.she hummed to herself as she chopped the vegetables and stirred the pot, feeling grateful for this wonderful life she had built with Jack.
As she worked, Emily couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and accomplishment.she and Jack has come a long way since their college days, and their future looked brighter than ever.
But as minutes tickled by, Emily began to notice that Jack's call was taking longer than expected. She glanced over at him, wondering who he was talking to, but he was too engrossed in his conversation to notice her. Emily's curiosity got the better of her. She wiped her hands on a towel and walked over to the living room,where Jack was still deeply engrossed in his conversation.
" Hey,is everything okay?" She asked trying to sound casual despite her growing anxiety.
Jack held up a finger, indicating that he was almost done with his call. Emily nodded and walked back to the kitchen.
A few minutes later, Jack walked into the kitchen,his phone still clutched in his hand." Sorry about that", he said, giving Emily a quick kiss on the cheek. " I had to take care of some work stuff".
Emily nodded, trying to brush off her concerns." No worries," she said." Dinner's almost ready".
As the sat down to ear, Emily couldn't help but notice that jack seemed a bit distant. He was quiet and preoccupied, and and Emily found herself Wondering if everything was okay.
But as the evening wore on, jack seemed to relax, and they spent the rest of the night watching TV and laughing together. Emily's concerns were forgotten, and she drifted off to sleep feeling happy and content.
The next morning, Emily woke up feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.dhe got dressed and headed to the kitchen to start breakfast. As she was cracking the eggs into a bowl,she noticed that jack was already up and getting ready for work.
" Hey, good morning," Emily said, giving jack a kiss on the cheek." How are you feeling today?"
" I'm good"jack replied,smiling. " Just a bit busy today. I have a lot of meetings scheduled".
Emily nodded sympathetically." Okay,well,be careful and have a good day".
As Jack headed out of the door, Emily couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and admiration for her fiance. He was a hard worker and was always striving to be the best version of himself.
After jack left, Emily finished making breakfast and then sat down to eat. As she was scrolling through her phone, she noticed that she had a text message from her sister,sarah.
" Hey sis,I haven't talked to you in a while" the message read. "What's up? I haven't talked to you in a while"
Emily smiled as she read the message. She and her sister were close, and they always made it a point to stay in touch.
As she was typing out a response to her sister's message, Emily's mind began to wander. She thought about her upcoming wedding and all of the things that she still needed to do to prepare.she thought about her fiance and how much she loved him.
But as Emily was lost in thought, jack was contemplating on how to text her sister.
