I have been waiting a long time for Johnson to arrive, but he didn't. Today is Valentine, the day that the both of us had already prepared to meet a purse in love, filled with romances. I looked outside through the window, and saw how different couples both married and single were holding hands and walking together. Some of them were even walking and strolling along with their children. They were really having good times with themselves.

I picked up my phone and called Johnson's line, but he didn't pick. I called him again. But this time, my call didn't even go through.

What's happening?"I asked myself.

Why must it be now and today that things like this would be happening?"I kept on asking myself these questions, hoping to get answers. But no answers were given to me.

I stood up and started walking all through my room,hoping that something, possibly,might be changed. I kept looking at the gate whether I could see any traces of Johnson, or him coming in with his car. But all to no avail.

I immediately sat down on the bed and looking up, I was drawn to something. A wedding portrait of me and Johnson. Up Till today, I still don't believe that I was married to Johnson. Me meeting him in the first place,was something I never imagined and planned for. He was never in the list of the kind of man that I ever wish to get married to. But unfortunately for me, I ended up finding myself in this situation.

I kept on looking at our wedding portrait, and I suddenly discovered that Johnson never laughed or smiled. This sudden discovery has never come to my mind or consciousness before. Although merely looking at his face on the portrait, he looked like one who was smiling. But in the real sense, he wasn't.

Why haven't I noticed this before?. My eyes were probably blinded with love right?. Anyway, this isn't the issue on ground now. I really need to be with him to celebrate this year's Valentine. Ever since we got married, we have never celebrated one before. It has been five years now since we got married.

Johnson always complained about him not having a chance to celebrate lovers day with me. He hardly makes me feel like the woman I am. He gives me no time, respect and attention.

Honestly, I can't really say whether I have offended him or not and even if I had, he should have spoken to me about it.

I'm really hurt, depressed and neglected by his actions against me. He hardly introduces me as his lovely wife to people. Although,he has never laid his hands on me. He is always soft,but doesn't really want to have anything to do with me.

As I stood up,I could hear my phone ringing.

"Oh! Thank God. Johnson has finally called back"I said in my mind.

My heart trembled for joy, knowing that he was on the line. But as I pushed my hands closer to get my phone, my hopes were all lost. He wasn't the one calling. It was Anita, my best friend.

Why would she be calling me now?.I thought she said she would be having a date with one of her lovers?"I thought in my mind.

Anyway, what's my business in her affairs?. I finally pressed at the green button on my phone, accepting her call.

"Hello baby"I heard her saying, calling me by my nickname.

"Hi, Anita. Happy valentine"I responded, wishing her a sweet lovers day.

"Where are you right now?"She asked me, without even complimenting my sweet words. But I didn't count that as anything, anyway.

"I am all alone in the mansion,"I responded.

"Open the gate for me. I am outside the gate of your mansion"She informed me.

I was shocked to hear that. Something must be wrong for her to speak to me in this way. Ever since I became close and good friend with her, she has never acted like this before. Meanwhile, I didn't bother asking her many questions. I immediately gave a call to the officer at the gate, to open the gate for her, of which he quickly did.

When she entered, I quickly fixed my gaze on her, wondering what might be wrong. From the looks on her face, she wasn't happy.

"Is there any issue?"I asked her. But she kept silent, strolling her eyes in and out of me.

"Speak to me, Anita. I know that there is something wrong. Just feel free to tell me. After all, I am your friend"I demanded, trying to force her to speak. Truly, she has something to say to me, but she doesn't know how she would say it, or the manner in which she would present it to me.

She looked at me again, and flicked the front hairs of her head back. I was now ready to hear her out. She looked like one who had seen a masquerade.

"Get me a cup of cold water"She ordered.

I hurriedly brought it before her. She drank to her satisfaction, and dropped the cup.

"I have something to tell you,"She said.

"Go ahead dear"I said, nodding my head.

"By the way, where is your husband?"She asked me, while strolling her eyes and head all over the parlor, as if she was looking for someone.

"He is not around"I responded with a sad and low voice.

"I. I. I have something to tell you"She stammered.

"I am listening"I still replied, more ginger to hear what she has to say.

"But I wouldn't want to say it out just like that,"She said.

"How do you want to say it then?. Make me understand"I said to her.

She sighed, looking at me.

"You are my friend, and it will be very bad of me not to inform you, or to open your eyes on what has been happening in your marriage"She said.

"What!" I was shocked.

"Calm down. This is why I never wanted to meddle in this before"She said, standing up, and trying to leave.

I hurried towards her, and blocked her.

"I see that you are probably scared or something. Just tell me what you wanted to say to me"I said.

She turned to look at me,posing a sad face at me.

"Come with me to the Hilltop hotel.I want to show you something,"She said.

"Hilltop hotel?. You mean the hotel that is very close to this mansion?"I asked, suspiciously.

"Yes, the hotel,"She said.

I nodded my head. I trust her. She has gotten something to show me. Something that could even change my life.

Anyway, we went to the hilltop hotel, and met the clerk at the counter. Anita presented herself as the real estate agent that Johnson was expecting,of which the hotel clerk was aware of.

We went to the room where Johnson, my husband , was lodged. I was shocked to see him on top of a young lady. My heart was broken.
