"Just kill me please", Serena begged as cold chains tightened around her wrists. Born a Luna heir, she would rather die than serve a pack that brutally murdered her family. But when death denies her mercy, revenge becomes her only reason to live. Fate offers her a second chance as she is sent to serve the alpha family of her enemies, but Serena faces a tough choice: to continue on her quest for vengeance or surrender to a love she never expects.
Serena's POV
"Run Serena!!", is all I hear my mom scream as a black wolf lunges at her slicing through her chest.
I scream and run towards her, even when my wolf yells at me to run away.
I shake her repeatedly trying to bring her back, but she just lays there lifeless, heart ripped out of her chest.
Another scream leaves my lips but is drowned by the chaos and destruction around me. Houses set on fire, screams of agony in the air as black lethal wolves drag out my pack, mercilessly murdering them without giving them a chance to beg for mercy.
I could never have seen this coming, and now my whole family is dead, brutally murdered. I collapse on my mother's lifeless body, too weak to keep on crying.
"There's still someone out here", I hear one of the wolves cry out, and soon, I hear them running towards me.
They surround me, but at this point I have no willpower or strength to fight back. So I just lay there lifeless.
I think back to how it all started. This morning began like every other day. I was bored out of mind as usual and thought of running away from the manor again. As heir of Silverpine pack, life could get boring and monotone.
My days were filled with lessons upon lessons about the politics of the pack and how to lead the pack as future Luna. This morning, however, my father had informed me of a meeting between the elders of my pack and the Nythera pack.
Knowing that it would bore me to death, I ran away. Even when my little brothers had begged me to play with them, I ran away. I ran from my duty and responsibility and now everyone is dead.
If only I had stayed, I could have been able to do something, to fight to save my family , my little brothers, my people.
I have no idea what happened. I had gone to Silverpine peak to escape reality, and then I saw it. The manor was on fire, and I could see everyone running out.
I ran as fast as I could, lucky that my wolf is one of the fastest in the pack. Even at that, I was too late. My mother was the only person I could find.
The manor had been set on fire while the meeting was going on, and my father had rushed deeper into the house to rescue my brothers and I.
As soon as he came out carrying my brothers' lifeless bodies on his shoulder, we were surrounded by black wolves.
My father tried to protect us but failed as he was outnumbered, all he could do was buy us the time to run away. I could not even watch him die.
I burst into another fit of tears, this time I can only heave as there is no more strength in me and the tears in my eyes have run out.
"Is she alive?" one of the wolves asks, coming to poke me with his paws.
I remain silent, waiting to embrace death. It is the only thing that would end my suffering and stop the guilt from eating my insides.
"She's still breathing". I hear the same wolf say.
"What should we do with her, do we kill her?", one of the others asks.
"Not yet", someone else says and I feel my heart break.
"I have to make them kill me", I think to myself, trying to figure out a way to make them end my life.
Then it comes to me suddenly and I lift my head up and look at them. There are about seven of them and two of them looked like higher ranked wolves.
I look up at the moon, praying for strength one last time, and then I let my wolf out. She charges at one of them striking and landing a blow on his head. The others howl and charge at me, but I swiftly dodge.
I know I cannot keep this up, and I will not win and that's why I am doing this. If they consider me a threat, they would definitely want to get rid of me.
It does not take long before one of the high rank wolves lunge at me knocking the breath out of my lungs.
My wolf groans in pain but tries to get back up. If it were another circumstance, I would have been thrilled at her resilience.
As I try to steady my feet, I feel a blow on my head and I welcome the darkness, hoping it is enough to finish the job.
I feel it before my brain can comprehend what is happening.
A head lifts from between my legs mumbling something. My hands go to push his head back down.
I moan and suddenly jerk awake, realizing it's not a dream. I look down at my body in shock. I'm naked. I'm naked, and there's some guy rising from between my legs.
"Oh my god," I whisper" pushing him away.
He groans and pins me down, and I scream as loud as I can, hoping that someone comes to my rescue.
Fortunately, I hear voices outside and I guess he did as he pushes me away and runs out.
I fight back the tears threatening to spill and hurriedly dress up.
Two men enter the room and one of them smirks at me. "You've finally awaken, your majesty", he mocks.
The other one grabs me roughly, shoving me outside. As soon as I step outside, a rough hand tangles in my hair, forcing me to my knees.
"She's the Alpha's daughter," one of the men murmur.
"A waste of breath. Kill her." I hear a cloaked figure command.
I barely process the words before a blade is pressed against my throat. The steel is cold, and I smile, a whisper away from ending my suffering.
Yes let me die.
