Tainted mate

A cold shiver went through me as I stood in front of my Luna and two council members.

"she is not worthy of such inheritance and you all know it" said council Brent in disdain.

"this isn't about her being worthy, it is about keeping the bloodline secured" said Luna Eva in her usual gentle manner.

"Her great aunt is dead" she continued " and she is the only blood related relative left"

" Luna Eva is right" said council James " but we cannot forget the fact that she is an abnormal wolf. Francis, do tell us what happened on your sixteenth birthday"

my throat suddenly went dry at the question. Everyone in the whole wolf world might have heard of me by now.

"I.......I....did not turn" I said weakly.

"please be more audible Francis" council James urged.

of course he could hear me. They all had wolf hearing he just wanted me to say it to prove his point. old bastard.

"I did not turn" I said.

"do you hear that Luna Eva" said council James mockingly

"There is no need to remind the child of what we already know" said Luna Eva

"remind her you say! this is a serious matter and it seems you are taking it too lightly!" council Brent said in anger

" do you think I do not know what is at stake here council members!. I understand completely that an important bloodline is about to be wiped out completely from history and all you all care about is if she is Worthy!!" Luna Eva ranted in rage.

Luna Eva rarely got angry, if she ever did it was always reasonable. I have always admired her sense of self control, while I was the complete opposite.

"arguments will solve nothing Luna Eva, we have already made our decision" said council James

"Celeste morellis, your great aunt left big shoes that cannot be filled by anyone. She wasn't just a beta born wolf, she was a bridge keeper chosen by the gods of the deep. she kept the balance between all the realms until her untimely death. you on the other hand are an Omega who did not turn on her sixteenth year." council Brent said

"if you did not smell like a wolf I would have doubted you being one of us considering the circumstances sorrounding your birth." said council James in a disgusted manner

"on behalf of the council of the five" council Brent continued eagerly " Francis nevara, you are hereby rejected from inheriting the position of bridge keeper by blood"

I already knew that I would be rejected by the council, but I still felt a sting in my chest. who was I kidding? I could never amount to anything to them. I would always be the wolfless red eyed bitch to them. I felt a tear trickle down my cheek, and from the corner of my eye I saw Luna Eva look at me with pity.

"council members! Luna Eva!" came the voice of a gaurd . " alpha Dominique Sullivan is here."

An audible gasp left the lips of everyone. alpha Dominique Sullivan was here? as in here in the blue river pack?

Alpha Dominique Sullivan was the most feared alpha in the wolf realm. He had turned at age twelve and was already ruling over the red sun pack at age fifteen. He had turned a low ranking pack into the strongest pack in the world by the time he was twenty one. But he gave it all up to his younger brother when he was chosen by the gods of the deep to be the leader of the bridge keepers. now he has armies of not just wolves but witches and vampires.

"why is he here? go back and tell him we have already handled the matter. The uhh....issue has been resolved" said council Brent.

"with all due respect council members, this is my pack. in my husband's absence, I am in charge so I decide who stays and who goes. Tell the gaurds at the borders to let him in" said Luna Eva

Luna Eva has always been a badass wolf to me. she was like a mother to me and I had always secretly wished that she was.

The moment he walked into the pack house, I somehow knew that he had. A sudden knot began to tie itself in my stomach and I felt like I was about to open a Christmas present. The most amazing scent filled my nostrils and I wondered if the council members could smell it too.

"council members, this matter has been officially removed from your hands" came a powerful voice.

I didn't need any introduction to know that this was alpha Dominique Sullivan. His whole aura screamed power. I quickly bowed my head to show respect, the council members bowed too. only Luna Eva stood straight because she had alpha blood in her veins.

" There is no need to dwell on the issue, we have already handled it alpha Dominique" said council James

"whatever conclusion you had made is hereby null and void." said alpha Dominique Sullivan

"what?" said council Brent in disbelief. " we are members of the council of the five! you may be in charge of keeping the balance between realms, but we keep the wolf realm in check boy! This matter is more than our concern!" council Brent was more than angry.

Alpha Dominique Sullivan did not even flinch at his words. He stared at council Brent in the eye and said " This is a matter that concerns bridge keepers alone, council Brent"

"you dare challenge me!" yelled council Brent in rage

" you dare challenge the gods of the deep!" alpha Dominique Sullivan yelled back in his alpha voice.

At his words I felt the whole building shake. I have never felt so much power from anyone before, not even my own alpha. my head was already bowed but I felt the need to bow even more and it was evident I wasn't the only one that felt so too.

" she is the only surviving member of the morellis bloodline and that makes her important." said alpha Dominique Sullivan

"she is a lowly omega that hasn't even turned at age nineteen" said council James who was seething in rage.

" That is not your judgement to make council James." in a voice that had authority, he said " as the leader of the bridge keepers and former alpha of the red sun pack, I Dominique Sullivan accept Francis nevara as a bridge keeper".

I stood there in disbelief. my head was bowed but my jaw was wideæ open.

"how dare you taint Celeste morellis legacy with this omega" said council James in disgust.

" you will regret this alpha dominique! mark my words!" said council brent

They both got up and stormed out of the room. A heavy breath I didn't realize I was holding left my lips.

" Francis nevara, congratulations on being a bridge keeper" said alpha Dominique

I stood frozen still with my head still bowed. he moved closer to me and the scent and power that he exudes was so overwhelming that I felt light headed.

" look at me when I speak to you Francis" he said. He didn't use an alpha voice but I obeyed as if he had.

I raised my head to stare at his face and the moment our eyes met I felt my self be utterly consumed by him.
