Chapter 1 A Surprise for My Husband

Chapter :001

It was one of those bright, warm afternoons when I just decided to surprise my husband at the office. My heart full of excitement, I went into the kitchen and prepared his favorite meal: jollof rice and crispy chicken. In no time, the fragrance filled the house, and I couldn't help but smile, with the delight on his face when he saw what I had made. I whispered to myself, "He's going to love this.

By this time, my little daughter Arianna skipped into the kitchen with her wide inquisitive eyes and said, "Mom, you made all of this for Dad?" I smiled and nodded, "Yes, darling, but you too are going to have some; Jollof rice and chicken are your dad's favorite, remember?

When I was done cooking, the kitchen became a flurry of activities, but I made sure to clean up in record time. I packed my husband's portion into a food flask and then dished up a plate for Arianna, who promptly dug in. I couldn't eat; I was too excited to see my husband. "Princess," I asked her, "would you like to go with me to Daddy's office?" She smiled, her eyes sparkling, "Yes, Mommy, I'll go with you!

I carefully dressed Arianna in a sweet pink gown and matching black shoes and brushed her hair into a decent style. Me, simple and elegant, a wife on a mission, so to say. We were ready. I locked the door behind us and headed for the car. I hadn't told my husband I was coming-this was going to be a surprise.

.I drove off, my heart racing with anticipation of the expression that would show up on his face when I appeared, my daughter tagging along. There's traffic on the road, the journey took us two hours instead of an hour. I whispered to myself I can't wait to see my love. My daughter is so excited,Arianna said I can't wait to see daddy in his office .

My car turn on,the gatekeeper opened the gate,I drove my car to the compound. We exchange greetings,Arianna was so eager to see her dad's.Mom I can't wait to see daddy, she smiled. We arrives at his office and is greeted by the receptionist. I introduced myself, I'm Mrs Lucy George the wife of the CEO. I was surprised to learn that none of the staff know about me, as my husband, Jude, has never mentioned being married. Additionally, the receptionist informs me that Jude has no scheduled appointments for the day, which adds to my shock and confusion. This suggests a possible secret or hidden aspect of Jude's life that I was unaware of.I was surprised to hear that Jude always tells his staff he is a married man. Arianna asks me if something is wrong, but I reassure her that everything is fine. Then the receptionist initially refused to let me into Jude's office, but I insisted on being allowed in.

When I walked into my husband office,I was taken aback by what I saw he was kissing one of his staff members,my heart sank ,and I felt a rush of emotions ,shock, betrayal and confusion all at once.I stood there for a moment frozen a disbelief, trying to process, the scenes before me.It was a moment I never expected to witness and it left me questioning everything I thought I knew about relationship.Tears rolled down my cheeks as disbelief consumed me. My voice trembled as I shouted his name, "Jude!" He stood frozen, shock written all over his face. The woman beside him gasped before turning on her heels and running away.

Without another word, I grabbed my daughter's hand, my heart pounding with emotions I couldn't name. We hurried downstairs, each step heavy with pain. I slid into the driver's seat, my fingers gripping the wheel tightly as I drove home, my mind swirling with thoughts too overwhelming to process.

---

He told the gatekeeper, "Don't open the gate!" He ran after me, calling my name, but I didn't listen. Everyone around looked suspicious, their eyes filled with doubt and fear.As I drove away ,tears streamed down my face.My hands trembled on the steering wheel "Jude!Jude! How could you do this to me? "I screamed,my voice Breaking with anguish.

"My little princess, Arianna," Mom said. "Stop crying."I used a handkerchief to clean my face.I didn't know what to do.Overwhelmed,I pulled my car to the side of the road and rested my head on the steering wheel. My phone buzzed .He was calling .I saw his name flash on the screen, but I could bring myself to answer.I let it ring,my heart heavy with emotions I couldn't explain.I grabbed the steering wheel and continued driving home. When I arrived, I rushed to my room and wept. By the time we got home, Arianna had already fallen asleep. An hour after I arrived, he came in. He walked into my room, pleading with me, but I refused to listen to his explanation. He cried and held my hands, but I pulled away. I left the room and went downstairs to the living room. Sitting there, I told myself, He knew what he did was wrong

I said to myself, Why is Jude always doing this to me? I'm not beautiful. He is cheating on me with a dirty staff member. I nodded and continued weeping, my ears burning red with frustration.

I didn't have the strength to stress over it any longer. I entered the bathroom and took a shower. As I was about to go to bed around 7 p.m., I suddenly remembered-my child would need to eat when she woke up. I quickly prepared Golden Morn with milk for her.

When she woke up, I bathed her, and she ate. We lay down together and slept in our room.

Jude knew what he had done was wrong. Guilt weighed heavily on him. He knocked on my door.

"Babe, please, I want to talk to you," he said.

I didn't respond. I just lay there in silence. The following morning, I woke up and took a bath, then bathed Arianna as well. Afterward, I prepared noodles and chicken for breakfast, and we ate together. It was the weekend, so Arianna didn't have to go to school, and Jude didn't go to work-he was too ashamed of himself.

Arianna went inside the room, leaving us alone. Jude fell to his knees, prostrating himself before me, his eyes filled with remorse. With a trembling voice, he begged for my forgiveness. Tears welled up in my eyes as emotions overwhelmed me. We both cried, and in that moment, I chose to forgive him.

He claimed it was the devil's work. I responded, "I don't want to hear about it again." We chatted and had fun. Later, Ariana joined us. She said, "Dad, you offended me." He replied, "What did I do, princess?" She explained, "I came to your office, and you didn't buy me chocolate." "Oh! Please forgive me," he pleaded. "No, buy me chocolate," she insisted. Jude ordered chocolate, and upon its delivery, Ariana enjoyed it thoroughly.

"Babe, would you like to go on a trip, I mean, a vacation next weekend?" he asked. I replied, "Why not? Where do you prefer we go?" "Hmm, let's go to Canada since we're in the USA. For the next vacation, I'm considering the UK or an African country." "Oh, that's wonderful," I responded. "Wow," Ariana exclaimed, "I can't wait to go to Canada." We laughed.

He didn't want to care, despising his rapt fascination of the woman. She was in love with her abusive husband. She was married, bound by a contract to the Bratva's hitman. She was off-limits. But when Zefiro wanted something, it was with an intensity that bordered on madness. He obsessed, possessed, owned.
