Nobody wants to see a loved one they care about pass away, especially if they are their parents. Kiro Jacob is a charming and generous man. His father desires for him to have a serene life. But everything changed when they killed his father, the only member of his family. His life was forever altered by the incident, which made him conceited, cold, and heartless. And he didn't stop until his father, Don Emilio, received justice.
Kiro's POV
Having a complete family is the best gift from above. But I think he doesn't love me because he immediately took back the life of my father. I'm here right now at the park near my house, watching the children playing together with their parents. I'm so jealous even though I'm in my mid-20s. When I couldn't control my jealousy any longer, I went back home. And as soon as I arrived home, I went straight to my mini bar to get a drink.
I poured some beer into my glass; I sipped from my glass while looking at my father's portrait hanging on the wall. Before, he was the only person I could depend on, but now I'm by myself. He would still be with me now if only those evil bastards hadn't murdered him. I'm endeavoring to imitate him and wishing he were here right now.
I know he doesn't want me to be like him. He wants to give me a peaceful and happy life, very far from the miserable life he had before. But I believe that fate brought me here. Because my father did not raise me to be frail, I will exert every effort to follow him and bring justice to his death.
My cell phone rang unexpectedly as I was meditating, and when I looked at it, it was Rock, my buddy and cousin.
I picked up the phone. "Yes, Rock?"
"Kiro, I'm at the warehouse right now. I'm waiting for the delivery of the items," he stated. "If you want to you can come here."
"All right, I'll be there in a minute," I answered.
He didn't answer and hung up the call.
I drove to the warehouse where Rock is. The member guarding the gate bowed when they saw me and the other two opened the door for me.
"Where's Rock?" I asked them.
"He is in the basement boss," one of the members answered while bowing over.
Rock was smoking his cigarette there when I went down to the basement.
He came over to me and handed me a glass of liquor as soon as he saw me. He sat down on the couch and stated, "The items are on their way."
I also sat across from him. "How's the business?" I asked.
"It's great," Rock replied. "I got the deal from one of the Black Disciples holding groups."
We are progressively blocking the black disciples' transactions. Because they are one of our business rivals. When my father passed away, Uncle Roger was busy trying to find the person who killed my father, so he didn't manage the organization right away. As a result, the Black Disciples' gangs were able to complete the transaction that my father's group had. And now that our group is back in action, I will take back what is really for us.
"Rock, can you do me a favor?"
"Yeah, when did I say no to you?" he replied.
I sipped my drink and said, "I want to go to Dad's grave. Can you come with me?"
"Yes of course. When will it be?"
"Later, after we check the items," I stated.
While we were chatting, Rock's phone rang.
"Are they at last here?" Rock inquired.
"The goods are already in the back area, Kiro. Do you want to stay here, or do you want to come with me to check it out?" Rock enquired.
I leave the couch and get up. I then said, "Let's check it together."
We left the basement, and we went to the back area.
One of the boys approached and greeted us. "Good day boss," he said, bowing his head. "The items are all good and complete," he continued.
"Have you verified it correctly? You are aware that we don't want those products that aren't assured," said Rock.
"Yes sir, if you would like, we can examine it again one by one before the delivery truck departs."
"Can you open this particular box?" Rock gave the other member an order.
He did as Rock instructed, and they opened a box to show the bulk of the drugs to us. I simply observed them quietly from the side.
Rock examined it and then shut the box. "All right, Jonas, take care of it. Bring them inside."
"Copy boss," Jonas responded.
One of the men we trust most around here is Jonas. He is in control of managing this warehouse.
"Rock, why did they deliver us drugs in the first place? I believed they would send the firearms Don Felipe ordered from us," I asked Rock when we were returning to the basement.
Rock smirked, "They gave them to us even though they were intended for the black disciples since we are better at negotiating deals."
I chuckled at Rock's response. "Rock, I genuinely believe in you, you know that. You resemble Uncle Roger."
"You look like your father too Kiro. You seem to personify him, to me."
Rock noticed my unexpected silence. He patted my shoulder. "I am aware that you mourn your father, Kiro, but keep in mind the reason why we are here."
"I never forgot that, Rock. It's just that- nothing."
I may appear to be a monster, heartless, and haughty from the outside, yet every time I miss my father, my heart breaks.
Rock and I were shocked when someone suddenly entered the basement. "Sorry for interrupting my boss," he said. "We caught someone spying here in the warehouse," he added.
Rock and I looked at each other, and we stood together.
"Bring him to the gallows," Rock ordered.
The man quickly came out and we followed him.
I spoke out of the blue. "Whom the f*ck would send someone here?!"
"Where's the damn spy?" Rock asked angrily.
"He's already placed in the gallows sir," Jonas responded.
I approached Jonas and whispered something. And then I walked to the gallows to ask the spy.
I held his chin and lifted it. "Whom the f*ck send you here?!"
He didn't answer me, he just smirked.
When I noticed Jonas beside me, he opened the case where my gun and dagger were kept.
I took the dagger and rubbed it on the spy's face.
As I continued to press the dagger in his face, I asked, "Are you going to talk or do you want to taste it first?"
I saw blood flowing from his face. He didn't want to talk, so he would get the punishment he deserved.
"Even if I die, I will never say the reason or who's behind why I'm here," he answered.
I continued to rub the dagger into his face. I want to watch him slowly die with my precious dagger.
I heard some noises behind my back, and when I looked back, my man was carrying another man. "Boss, they caught his companion," Jonas said.
I heard the man on the gallows sigh. I looked again smirking. "That's why you have the courage not to speak because you are with someone who you think will be able to escape."
He just looked at me badly.
"Tie him beside that bastard," Rock ordered.
When he was tied, I approached him. "I will ask you the same question, who the f*ck send you here?!"
I stared him in the eyes, and I could feel that he was scared. I show him my dagger with blood stains. "If you don't confess right now, you will taste it too," I continued.
"Even if I want to talk, I still can't tell you who is behind it," he responded. "They have my family, so please let us go," he continued while crying.
The other man shouted, "Shut up Ruben."
I want to feel sorry for Ruben, but those who killed my father have no mercy. That's why I will lose mercy on these people too.
I stepped down from the gallows and handed my dagger to Jonas. "Keep it. And you know what will do to them," I stated and then left the room.
I noticed that Rock followed me. "Rock let's go to Father's grave," I said as I continued walking.
"The car was already in the back area," he answered.
We went to the back area, and as Rock said the two black cars were already there. One of the bodyguards opened the door for us. I was seated at the back, and Rock was seated in the passenger's seat.
Rock instructed the driver where we were going. There was silence in the car for a few minutes before Rock spoke.
"Are you okay, Kiro?"
"Yeah," I simply said.
"I was shocked by the way you held the dagger, you were acting like your father earlier," he stated while looking at me in the rearview mirror.
I smirked when I heard that statement. Rock knows how to lighten my mood.
"I study my father's movements. Like what I always say, I want to be like him."
"Just do the things you know are right for you. I know the time will come when you get better, or maybe the most dangerous mafia leader."
I grinned. "Let's see."
When we arrived at my father's grave, I put the flower that we brought, I also lit the candle.
Rock just stayed beside the car with the bodyguards.
I sat next to Dad's grave. "Dad, I miss you so much," I said with a teary eye. "I know that no matter what I do, you will never come back to me, but hopefully while I'm doing the things you left here, you'll still guide me."
I wiped the tears that escaped from my eyes. I only shed my tears here, in front of Dad. No one else knows that I'm crying. My members know that I'm a beast.
I got up to bid goodbye to my father. And when I turned my back on him, I felt a cold wind. I know this is my dad's answer. He is now allowing me to follow the fate that was intended for me.
I looked up to the sky, 'I will not let your hard work be ignored dad, I will continue everything you started.'
