Waking up to the sound of argument downstairs made blood rush to my veins as my anger rose I knew it was definitely my dad and his daily rants which our ears are now accustomed to as our morning alarm because it is definitely unavoidable every morning,looking sideway at my brother his eyes were still shut but he was obviously awake due the unending noise we both sighed at once because we knew what we were going to hear next, Beth my dad shouted from downstairs I didn't answer because I know it won't stop what's coming for me that morning he stormed up the stairs and threw his alcohol bottle a
t the door my brother Vincent flinched a bit but wasn't too surprised by my dad actions.
I stood up wore my puffy slippers given to me by my mom few months ago as a birthday gift I have always worn it around the house because I treasure i alot , Good morning dad I greeted as i opened the door but he didn't answer and was starring at me I felt a bit reluctant to look up at his face but I had no choice than to do that because I was waiting for his usual reply but he's taking too much time this particular morning
My face was met with a hot resounding slap from him as i lifted my head to look at him tears rushed to my eyes while my brother stood near me and held my left hand since I was holding my face with my right hand I didn't have the guts to raise my head anymore I definitely don't need another slap on my face
See how useless you have become Beth he shouted at me all you do is wake up eat and design those rags you call clothes let me see where those nonsense would take you he screamed and hissed at me,I am sorry dad I replied back without thinking twice because i badly wanted him to leave for his room and let us be that morning since it is a weekend my brother wasn't going to school that morning my brother squeezed my hands and murmured why are you apologizing when you clearly did nothing wrong of course he is right but i couldn't protest right there, what are you saying you useless boy my dad screamed at my brother this time but he didn't answer so he faced me and continued Beth I really don't see why I should keep feeding you and your useless mother and brother when I have other children doing well can't you just be like them and make me proud too? He asked me while still shouting, I didn't answer him which annoyed him he hissed and walked away to his room
Phew I breathed as i heard his door close pulling my brother alongside me we both ran down the stairs to see our mom sitting on the floor and crying her eyes out ,mom stop crying i and Vincent called out to her while kneeling down beside her to calm her down my mom had gotten yelled at again this morning which she is already used to but would still always cry every morning , he wasn't like this before I birthed you two she said to us while wiping her tears , we know mom we replied her back seeing my mom cry again this morning made me rage but i have no one to vent my anger on or say anything to i stoop up walked into the kitchen to prepare breakfast for all of us excluding my dad because I know him quite well he stopped eating from the house a very long time ago and we are all used to it now anyways
Finding it hard to concentrate on cooking I only prepared scotched egg and rice for breakfast this morning i went upstairs to take my bath walking around in my puffy slippers calmed me a little bit because the furs rubbing my foot was soothing, walking into the bathroom I took my towel from the hanger and wrapped myself in it almost forgetting to remove my slippers I almost ruined it with water
Shoot Beth what were you thinking I exclaimed loudly to myself while immediately removing it and locking the bathroom door since I and my brother shared it I know he might just walk in without knocking, sighting loudly I turned on the shower on my body I slowly rubbed my body and admired myself for a twenty one year old lady my shape was quite the catch I do thank my stars that I choose moms gene and physical features and nothing near my dads ,I stroked brown hair and washed up quickly and quietly because I needed every minute of alone time I can get and washing up gives me alone time to think about my life, for a twenty one year old I hated men in general excluding my younger brother tho because I love him after my mom yes I really love designing clothes but my dad calling my work rags was just out of it but who am I to object his words i walked out of the shower dried up and wore a simple joggers and crop top I knew eyes would be on me while walking down the street but who cares about that I was once in a situation where a woman murmured insults at me telling me all I do I seduce men with my clothes I only smiled that particular day because I wasn't even in the mood for argument's I just excused myself from one at home getting Into another one on the street would be quite thoughtless to do
After dressing up I ran down the stair's and saw my mom already eating I smiled at her and joined her on the table we quietly had our breakfast i really didn't know what to say
