"Which camera sir? " I asked with an innocent face, unaware of all the issues. As if I didn't know anything and I didn't do anything. Although yesterday's incident was completely dominant in the mind. I was thinking that if the director What punishment will they decide if they even get an inkling.

I saw two friends Bantu and Ravish standing on either side of me. They both suffered more than me.

My last day at "Krishna Institute of Engineering & Technology" and I i.e. "Kartik" stood in the director's cabin after the convocation to listen to the scolding like a criminal being put in the dock.

Intelligence cameras have been fitted everywhere in the college corridors, in the classrooms, in the library, even on the terrace. So that all the activities of the college can be monitored. Because of that hidden camera, I often had to listen to the director's scolding. Because I was the naughty student of MBA. And yesterday evening unknowingly I broke the main door of the college. Which was recorded in the camera. So I thought, why not make the cameras disappear? I, along with Bantu and Ravish , took out all the spy cameras, and took them and hid them in the CPU box of the computer kept in the library. But missed one place. That was the camera above the director's terrace, in which everything was being recorded. I was enjoying the ceremony with friends in peace. Thinking I got out of trouble. Whereas the truth was that I had invited trouble by puffing my chest.

"Mr Kartik, just look at this" said the director showing the laptop to me.

My friends and I looked at the laptop screen. The view of all my condos was playing on the screen.

This was very wrong. This should not have happened. I had removed all the cameras, then how did this happen? I opened my eyes and saw the director. Who was staring at me with a stern expression.

"Nonsense, what made you think I wouldn't be aware of all this?" he said, resting his chin on the table.

"You wouldn't have thought that there was a camera on the terrace and also in the cabin. It was recording everything and you guys left it as evidence," he said with a sly smile. My legs were trembling "and" my brain became numb for a moment.

"Mr. Kartik, would you like to say something in your defense?" The director said, with emphasis on the last sentence.

"Sir, we didn't break the door intentionally, sorry sir" I said.

"Do you have a concoction to hide the cameras too?" He turned off the laptop and stared at me. I wanted to say that now this will not happen again. But could not say, because today was our last day in college anyway. After this, where was there going to be an opportunity to repeat the mistake? I kept my eyes down, waiting to hear the director's rebuke.

"Where's the camera? Where's the camera?" At last my wait was over, and his rebuke echoed in the large cabin.

"Sorry Sir" I said and looked at Sir with the hope that maybe he would take pity on us.

"Mr Kartik, I am asking for the last time when is the camera"? They shouted again.

"Sir...that" was all I could say at last. I was a little scared by his loud voice and started thinking, what is going to happen next? Maybe I have to listen to father's scolding? Or is it also possible that my degree will be withheld? No, no it can't be, I have to return the camera.

"Why are you silent? Why don't you tell where the camera is?" Once again my sleep was broken by the loud voice of the head.

"That in the CPU of the computer in the library room," I said nervously.

"What? In CPU"? He was startled and stared at me as if I had done the impossible.

The next moment we were in the library room. I was busy fiddling with the bolts and nuts of the CPU , and heads were watching my movements. Eventually I managed to get the cameras out.

"Sir took this" I said while holding the camera head.

"You should have been an engineer, why did you take admission in MBA"? Sir said in a tone of sarcasm.

"You may leave now. Best wishes for the future," he said in a tone as if he was saying goodbye to us in his heart. Of course, it was a matter of happiness for him. In these three years we tortured him so much. My heart swelled up. Not because we had tortured them ,but because now we will not be able to enjoy torturing them. The director had gone to his cabin. All three of us looked at each other and moved towards the corridor from the library. There was a crowd of students outside the corridor. They were all on strike. I was surprised to see him on strike.

"But why are these strikes happening?" I asked, looking at Ravish.

Seeing the expressions on his face, it seemed that he also did not know anything.

"Sooraj Makhija's eye has fallen on this college," Bantu said while holding the notebook in his hand, rotating it at a circular angle.

Meaning? Ravish was startled. I, too, looked at Bantu with surprise.

" who is this ?" I said .

" Suraj Makhija is a big name in the business industry, Suraj Makhija's name is at the top of all illegal businesses. He has his eye on this college." Bantu said and took a long breath. He looked at the crowd once and then started speaking "Actually, he wants to establish his eighth industry on the land of this college, so the students had to go on strike".

"But saving the college is the responsibility of the honor of this college, what is his reaction?" I furrowed my brows, asking.

The owner of this college was Jimmy Jain. Jimmy Jain was a powerful and successful industrialist. He was killed under some conspiracy. After his death, this college is running under the supervision of his father, Mystery Jain. Mystery Jain is also a powerful businessman." Bantu said."

Have you heard that Jimmy Jain had a son too? When Ravish asked, wrinkles appeared on his forehead.

"Yes, but whether he is alive or not, where is he? No one knows this" Bantu breathed while ending the conversation.

"This is wrong. Like this, how can anyone capture it? We will not let this happen at all," I said as I stepped towards the crowd.

"Where are you going now"? Ravish shouted.

"With them" I said.

"Have you gone mad? Let us not get involved in this argument, anyway we are alumni now. We should go home." Bantu held my hand and gestured for me to walk ahead.

"But Bantu" I tried to stop him but failed. All three of us came out of college.

As soon as he stepped into the locality, he saw Baby Aunty. Who was peeping in the boundary of my house from her terrace. His story has become every day. His eyes keep hovering around my house. Not for me, but for my father. As a matter of fact, Baby Aunty was single even at the age of fifty and lived with her niece in the house opposite to mine. But why she used to hang around my father even at this age, I don't know. But my father always ignored them. I lived alone with my father. I have never seen my mother, I don't know who my mother was, what she used to look like. I could never gather the courage to ask my father about my mother.

The roads were wet from the recent rain. The drains were full of water. And the frogs were jumping. As if they are celebrating this monsoon.

When the sliding door of the house was opened, rain water was collected in the boundary.

"Oh, how can water collect in this boundary?" I mumbled and took my steps forward slowly, so that the water splashes don't reach my pants.

"What papa? Are you eating dumplings? You have blood pressure, don't you?" I said and put a piece of dumpling in my mouth.

"Yes, it is"

" Even then ?" I said .

"Hey, what should I do? How long should I keep abstaining from these delicious dishes? I will take medicines later," said Papa and turned up the TV's volume.

"How was your graduation ceremony?"

"Yes, well done," I said, looking at the raindrops dripping from the window sills.

"What happened? Why are you sad? Papa saw the sudden sadness on my face.

"Nothing." I shook my head, smiling.

"No, there is something wrong, don't tell me what is the matter?" Papa put his hand on my head with great affection.

"Someone said something"? He again questioned my silence.

′′ I was thinking that now where will I have to wander for a job? Finally, I expressed my anxiety.

"Job and you? What are you talking about? Hey, you are a king, why do you need a job?" Papa again repeated his same old raga lap.

"Papa, I have been hearing this from your mouth since childhood, that you are a king. You don't have a bungalow, you don't have a car, you don't have a lot of money, from where you are a king?" I looked at my father with a sarcastic smile.

Papa looked at me with tears, "You don't even know who you are?" Muttered, he turned his attention back to the TV. I looked at my father for a moment and thought that I wish! There was even one percent truth in his words. But there is only one truth of my life that I am from a middle class family, and my family consists of me and my father.

It was nine o'clock in the night. I was sitting on the terrace looking at the stars. The sound of music was heard from Baby Aunty's terrace. I saw a girl dancing to the beat of the music. She was in a black tracksuit.

"Is this baby Auntie's niece? Who else could it be?" I scolded myself. I looked carefully, brown, silky open hair, wheatish complexion and height - saddle was fine. My eyes got stuck on his face only.

"Wonderful, I am seeing her for the first time today, such a beautiful girl lives in my street, why haven't I seen her before" I muttered. Longing to see her a little closer, I took a step forward.

′′ Rani beta ′′ Baby Aunty called and she left.

"Damn, I couldn't even get a close look at her." I stomped my feet in despair. Then I remembered that I have an interview in a company tomorrow. For which one has to wake up early in the morning. So for the time being I controlled my mind and went to my room to sleep.

′′ Kartik o Kartik ′′ eyes opened at six in the morning with father's loud voice. I found myself lying flat on a random bed with my arms propped up on the pillow. When I came out of the corridor with half-open eyes, suddenly there was some movement in my brain. And I remembered that today is my interview. After that, I increased my pace and got ready and saw myself in the mirror. I saw a tall, fair, handsome young man in the mirror. Whose eyes were intoxicating, and, the map was carved. "Wow, I look like a king now." I craned my neck and smiled.

"I always tell you that you are the king, but you do not believe," said father.

"O come papa, now, don't start again." I picked up the file of documents and touched father's feet and left for a new struggle.

Around eight o'clock, I was standing at the bus stop waiting for the bus. I saw a girl in a white suit stop her scotty in front of me.

She was waiting for the green signal, sitting on the scooty in front of me. I looked carefully, "This is the same girl, Baby Aunty's niece, Rani".

"She's really beautiful," I muttered and gazed at her absent-mindedly as long as she remained in front of me.

"Let's go, brother," the call of a gentleman standing near me broke my sleep. Saw the bus was standing there, and the queen had gone. I came out of Rani's thoughts and boarded the bus.

The weather was hazy when I left Vaishali towards Vikram Towers. There was enough time now. Still, I was worried because of the weather. Because the clouds were covered in such a way that it felt like seeing them. As if it is going to rain heavily for a few hours.

I prayed to God that the weather should be clear, otherwise my very special dressing would be a waste. Anyway, if it was a matter of another day, of course there was nothing to worry about. But today is my interview. How can I go for an interview getting wet in the rain?

S to me Had to go to S Group's headquarter. It was a huge building made of white sandstone. Which was really beautiful to see. I s. Stepped into the lobby of S Group around nine o'clock. The lobby was very clean and cool. The dampness of the AC was spread throughout the lobby.

A girl in a white pant suit was sitting behind a desk on the left. who was busy with her work.

"Yes I am Kartik here for interview" I said to the girl and looked at her expecting an answer.

He checked my name in the computer.

"Mr Kartik please sit there" she gestured to sit on the sofa in front of him. Where three more candidates were sitting for the interview.

I thanked him and went between the three of them and sat on the empty sofa. Heaved a sigh of relief and waited for the interview.

I looked at the boy sitting on my right. He was looking at me with strange eyes. Of course he was laughing to himself at my clumsy dress. He raised one eyebrow while staring at me and I hesitantly looked at him. I started thinking that I wish I had asked for Ravish's formal dress instead of wearing this flimsy shirt. I wore black pants and a pink tie with this swingy shirt with great preparation. I controlled my expressions and pretended that I was not nervous at all.

"Mr. Kartik, please go inside," said the girl at the desk. I got up, knotted my tie and headed towards the cabin. "Interview Room" was clearly written on the board of the cabin.

My nervousness increased as soon as I opened the cabin door. My feet were trembling.

"Good morning" I said and looked at the four elders. To show that I said good morning to all four at the same time. There was also a woman among them who looked like former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. But she was looking like a royal family in golden colored saree.

′′ Sit down please ′′ An elderly sir asked to sit on the couch kept in front of him.

That was the first interview of my life. I passed my documents to him and now I was at the front.

"Mr Karthik you are MBA holder but you are fresher while we are getting experienced candidates. Then why should we hire you?" Said the old man sitting right in front of me. Which looked very polite. I started thinking that how can such a simple person ask such a complicated question?

"Sir, for success, more than a person's experience, it is necessary to have talent. And it is not necessary that every experienced person has talent" I said.

"The ones you have?" The second elder asked.

"Yes, of course"

′′ Well then you sell this water bottle outside our cabin ′′ Finally the third old man said pointing to the bottle kept on the desk.

I took the bottle in my hand. And started thinking that there would be hardly ten people here. Why would any of them want to have this bottle? , While they have a better option than this in the office,. I presented myself as if I could do this work in a second. Although actually I was very nervous inside. I was just about to get up from the couch to go out when the elderly woman suddenly coughed. I thought there is no other bottle here and the woman needs water, so why not give this bottle to this woman.

′′ Madam take this water ′′ I said while extending the water bottle towards the elderly woman.

The old woman quickly took a bottle of water and looked at me kindly.

I looked at the male elders. His facial expressions were telling that he was trying to understand the incident. I took out twenty rupees from my pocket and gave it to him.

"Sir, you asked to sell the bottle and the bottle was sold, the price of which I also gave you". I said and looked at him with a slight smile.

He stared at me in astonishment for a few moments.

Oh I can't seem to find words. He was probably trying to praise me. At least that's what I assumed.

"Mr Karthik, what salary would you like to take?" asked the old man sitting in front of me.

"What? Am I selected? My heart fluttered. It's really amazing." "Yes sir" I shrugged and looked in astonishment.

He smiled "Mr Karthik you are really amazing".

Really, my happiness knew no bounds after hearing these words. He gave me a letter and asked me to meet the director of the company. I shook hands with all of them and came out of the interview room. I came back to the girl at the desk.

"Where's the director's cabin?" When I asked the girl at the desk, she turned her attention away from the computer and looked at me with a raised brow.

"You go to the last lift on the right and press the button for the seventh floor," he said and then looked closely at the awkwardly dressed man.

Oh no, it seems she is also making fun of my dress. I thought it appropriate to leave as soon as possible and stepped towards the corridor on the right. The lift showed full agility in going up to the seventh floor. As soon as the door opened, I came to another lobby. SHRIRAM SINGHANIA was written in big and clear letters on the door of the cabin.

I stepped forward with trembling legs. Pushed open the door and found a senior senior director in front of me.

"May I come in sir?"

"Please come in," he said while raising his glasses.

"My name is Kartik," I said in a staggered voice, hoping that they might ask me for a file of documents.

"Mr. Kartik please sit down," he said simply. I sat on the L shaped brown couch in front and felt the coolness of the AC.

The office was big enough for one person. There were big glass windows in front and a square shaped table, on which diary, pen stand, laptop bottle were all kept very neatly. The color of the table, the wall and the doors were all in cream shade. The office looked cool and clean. There were some paintings on the wall near the window which looked very beautiful and special. I looked closely and one of the pictures looked somewhat familiar.

"It's Jimmy Zain," I muttered.

"Yes, this is Jimmy Jain, the famous industrialist and standing with him is his close friend Sumit Singhania." While saying he looked at me with cold eyes. Stopped for a moment and then started speaking "SS group is a partnership between these two".

"But Jimmy Jain is no longer in this world, isn't he?" ,

He stared at me at my curious question. Oops, seems to have asked the wrong question at the wrong time. At least think before saying something stupid, I reprimanded myself.

Yes, both are no more, their friendship was probably so deep that even the one above had mercy on them and both of them said goodbye to the world together. He said and looked at me once again.

"Well, now let's talk about today, this is your joining letter, you can join this company from Monday Mr. Kartik"

′′ Thank you sir, thank you very much ′′ I smiled while taking the letter from his hand as if I had found the key to the treasure. When I got up from the couch, he extended his hand "Mr. Kartik".

"See you soon sir" I said shaking hands.

He picked up his file of documents and stepped towards the door. When I entered the lobby, my throat felt dry. "I need a drink of water," I muttered, and made my way to the left corridor. A cabin was seen in front of which there was a system of cold water. "Wow such cold water, wonder of a utilitarian refrigerator. I drank the water and looked around. The whole corridor looked cool, clean and clinical. Seriously this company must have cost billions. How grand and beautifully made." Today I am able to understand better why Jimmy Jain's name is taken on top in the category of industrialists. Surely there must have been something different in that person.

As soon as I took a step forward to return. I saw a glimpse of someone in the cabin. I turned to the cabin. A girl was struggling with shelves full of documents. Maybe she was looking for something. For five minutes she kept searching and I kept watching her. Although could not see his face. But could not understand why there was so much eagerness to see him. I was getting restless in my mind to see her. How long should I stand to see a girl? I must go now, came a voice from inside me. Before I could leave, she turned around with a file in her hands. I was surprised to see her, "Queen" was the only word that came out of my mouth.

"Is this the queen who lives in my neighborhood? Yes, she is the one whom I was watching with great love from the terrace while dancing in the night." I took it a step further by answering my own questions.

Then someone called me from outside.

"Hello mister, what are you doing here?"

Oh it seems the entry of strangers is prohibited here.

"I came here for the interview" I said to the middle aged man standing in front of me who appeared to be the staff.

"I'm leaving now" I said in a low voice. As if I have committed a big crime.

"The way out is over there," she pointed with her manicured fingers.

"Yes" I smiled and headed towards the lift. I was thinking that what is a modest looking girl like Rani doing in such a big company? Looking at her, doesn't it seem that she would be the owner of this company, then obviously she would also be working here. Really she is very beautiful. Whenever I see her my heart skips a beat.
