(Laura's POV)
I stared blankly into the mirror, my mind reeling with the news that had shaken my world. The Alpha's guards, imposing figures, had arrived at my humble home with a message that left me breathless. The great Alpha Alexander of the Moon Pack sought my hand in marriage.
A shiver ran down my spine as I recalled the events that led to this proposal. I had run deep into the woods, my wolf Ori directing me as my mind sped with anger. The dense air blurred around me as I ran for hours, the rustling of leaves and snapping of twigs beneath my paws were the only sounds that filled the air.
Finally, I stopped to catch my breath, my chest heaving with exhaustion. As I gazed around, I realized that I had run farther than I thought. I had crossed into another pack's territory.
My tired claws sprang back to life as I prepared to return home, but it was too late. I was surrounded by a pack of wolves, their eyes fixed intensely on my white fur.
"I'm sorry for trespassing into your territory. I mean no harm," I apologized through the mind link, but I was met with a deafening silence.
Just as I thought things couldn't get any worse, a familiar scent lingered through the air. My wolf Ori cheers up with excitement. I felt an inexplicable jolt of recognition.
It was him. My mate.
I felt a surge of excitement and longing. The danger surrounding me melted away as I focused on the scent, my heart racing with anticipation.
That's when he appeared out of nowhere, a masculine handsome man with an undeniable aura of power."Leave her alone," he growled, his eyes fixed intently on me.
The other wolves looked at him in surprise, but he ignored them, His gaze locked on mine. I could feel it - he was my mate.
As we stood there, our eyes locked, we could smell each other's skin. The scent was intoxicating, and I felt myself drawn to him.He walked up to me,his eyes burning with intensity.
"You're mine," he whispered, his voice sending shivers down my spine.
I felt a spark of recognition, and I knew that I was his, too.
Then One of the wolves transformed back into human form and stepped forward, confronting the man. But Alpha, She's a white wolf, he growled, his voice low and menacing. "Remember, white wolves are forbidden from this pack. Their power could destroy us all."
The Alpha's gaze snapped back to the man, his eyes blazing with fury. "How dare you question me?" he thundered. "She is my mate, and she will be my Luna." that final. I could hardly believe it, my mate is the alpha. What!! And I will be his Luna.
Suddenly a shrill voice called through the air. It was my mum" Laura, come outside right now, the guards are waiting". She said as I jolted out of my thoughts.
I brushed my hair and put on my dress then headed outside to meet my mom.
The guards stared at me as I walked to them, then they bowed to me.Then one of them came forward to me and said to me in his husky voice; Luna the alpha has asked us to bring you to the palace.
I went forward into the ride that will take me to the moon pack.as the ride moved forward ,I wondered what fate awaits me in the moon pack.
Finally, after hours of the journey, we reached the Moon Pack and made our way to the entrance of the Alpha's residence.
As I stepped into the Alpha's residence, all eyes stared at me in disbelief.
"I can't believe the Alpha's mate turned out to be a white wolf," I could hear a lady whisper to her friend. "Yes, the moon goddess is unfair. I should have been his mate."
I felt really unsecured as they all stared and gossiped about me. After a walk that seemed like forever, I looked up and there I saw him at the beginning of the hallway, staring at me keenly.
Not taking his eyes off me, he stretched his hands out to me, offering to hold me. "I'm Alexander, but call me Xander," he whispered into my ear. "Let me take you to my private study to avoid this continuous staring from envious people."
I chuckled at his words. My mate was really one of a kind. I stretched out my hand to his, but out of nowhere, he carried me up in his arms and dashed into the study with me along the hallway.
As Xander carried me through the hallway, I couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and nervousness. The stares and whispers of the pack members still lingered in my mind, making me wonder what lay ahead.
We reached a beautifully crafted wooden door, adorned with intricate carvings of wolves and moons. Xander pushed the door open and stepped inside, still cradling me in his arms.
The room was cozy, with a warm fireplace crackling in the corner. The walls were lined with books, and a stunning wooden desk sat at the far end of the room.
Xander gently set me down on a plush couch, and I took a moment to absorb my surroundings.
"So, Laura," Xander began, his voice low and smooth, i know this is all a bit overwhelming. But I want you to know that I'm committed to making this work. You're my mate, and I'll do everything in my power to keep you safe and happy.
I looked up at him, searching for any sign of insincerity. But all I saw was genuine warmth and determination in his eyes.
"Thank you, Xander," I replied, my voice barely above a whisper. "I'm still trying to process everything. But I have to ask... what about the pack? They seem to have a problem with me being a white wolf."
Xander's expression turned pale, he nodded. "Yes, there are those who don't understand the significance of your heritage. But I assure you, Laura, i will not let anyone harm you. You are under my protection now."
I felt a surge of gratitude toward him, but also a sense of unease. What would happen if the pack refused to accept me? I asked him, my face pondering with confusion.
Xander reached out and gently brushed a strand of hair behind my ear. His touch sent shivers down my spine, and I knew that I was in this now then he whispered to me trust me Laura I would do anything to protect you.
