FATED TO THE LYCAN ALPHA

Heavy pants could be heard and the shuffling of feets as Hazel ran through a lonely path in the pack. She was being chased by some guards who were throwing stones at her as well as reigning curses on her. That was how it was anytime she tried moving around in the pack.

Soon, the guards lost track of her, Hazel glanced around suspiciously trying to stay clear from people's path. She didn't want to come in contact with anyone to avoid insults. She had heard enough of that and she wasn't willing to hear more.

Was it her fault that she was yet to discover her supernatural powers?? She dares not walk around the town freely without having to dodge people.

However, no matter how unnoticed she tried to be, she still got noticed by some maidens who began lashing her with mean words.

"Here comes the cursed witch." One said with digust. "She does not deserve to live amongst us." Another lady fired and more mean remarks kept coming.

Soon, they began chasing after her as they threw dirts on her. She ducked behind a corner and they ran past her.

She was breathing hard already as she watched the girls running to another direction until they disappeared from her sight. She came out of her hiding place as she took to her heels, running to the woods where she planned on meeting with Tatiana, her only friend.

She jumped over a fallen trunk of a tree and she hid behind a tree as she watched few wolves who just returned from their hunt, transform into their human self.

She couldn't help but marvel at the scene. She envied them and hoped she could also make her first shift one day.

Soon, they left and she came out of her hiding place and just then she heard a loud growl behind her and she leaped forward horrifically.

Tatiana immediately transforms back to her human self and she bursts into laughter. Tatiana is the sister to the next alpha of the pack but a close friend of Hazel's. Their friendship is a secret.

"You scared the shit out of me." Hazel whined, her hands placed on her chest.

"Don't be such a scary cat." Tatiana said admist fit of laughter.

"I can't help it." Hazel said and she sat down on a trunk, staring blankly into space.

Tatiana furrows her brows and she went to sit beside her. "What's on your mind?"

"Lot of things, Tatiana. Why is the moon goddess refusing to say anything concerning my case yet? Or am I really cursed?? Why does everyone treats me like an outcast including my own family. What did I ever do to deserve this cruel fate?" Hazel blurts out dejectedly.

"Shh....don't say that...you aren't cursed." Tatiana shunned, her hands placed on Hazel's lips as a sign to shut her up.

"You are a rare kind, Hazel. Don't ever think you are cursed. Don't worry, things will fall into place, trust me." Tatiana assures her.

"How I wish everyone thought the same way. What would I ever do with you, Tatiana. You're the best." Hazel muttered and she wrapoed her arms around her, engulfing her in a tight hug.

"Now, enough of the dullness. I've got juicy news." Tatiana said.

"Tell me about it." Hazel said, her mood brightening.

"You remember Killian?" Tatiana asked and Hazel looked distant for a while, muttering the name slowly.

"My brother." Tatiana reminded her and it was then she recalled.

"Oh! yes, the next alpha of this pack." Hazel added.

"What about him?" Hazel asked.

"He will return before the next full moon to choose his Luna and get formally crowned as the alpha of Raven Streak." Tatiana announced and Hazel's eyes almost bulged out of his sockets.

It was surprising because he had been gone for a really long time and much news wasn't heard from him ever since he left. The pack members had long forgotten about him, his return will surely come as a shock to everyone.

"Wow...its being a while we heard any news from him." Hazel pointed out.

"Yes, so like I said....he would be returning before the next full moon and then it is assumed that he would choose his Luna during the full moon." Tatiana explained further.

"Ok, but where has he been all this while." Hazel asked, her curiosity getting the best part of her.

"You would know once he returns." Tatiana muttered.

"Ok." Hazel replied simply, not wanting to push in the question further.

Tatiana suddenly sits up at alert, causing Hazel to crease her brows slightly.

"Hide!!" She blurts out and Hazel shook her head in understanding.

Hazel immediately stood up and ran to another part of the woods and she hid behind a huge tree, watching the scene from a distance.

A guard approached Tatiana, turns out she heard his footsteps, coming towards them from afar and she had to tell Hazel to hide so as to avoid being seen by the guard.

"The queen mother seeks your presence, My lady." The guard announced.

"Where is she?" She asked non challantly.

"In her chambers, My lady." The guard replied and he bowed respectfully.

"Ok." Tatiana said as she stood up and sashayed out of the place with the guard following closely behind her.

As soon as they left, she came out of her hiding place, puffing out breath from her mouth.

She always had to this everytime and she was getting tired of it, hiding herself from the pack members because she wants to avoid humiliation.

Thunder clapped and the cloud became dark with rain. Hazel began making her way in the dark, knowing it was time to return home.

When she got home, she was about sneaking in when the arguments from parents stopped her.

"If the moon goddess doesn't say anything about Hazel's case, the leaders will surely take action." Akash--her father said.

"What action??" Vivian--her mother asked.

"She would either be banished or killed."Akash revealed and Vivian mouth opens agape in shock.

Her father's revelation hits her so hard as she took two steps backward.

Without much thought, she turned around and took to her heels. Her tears mixed with the rain as she ran without looking back.

She soon finds herself back in the woods as she sat on the floor, crying her eyes out.

"Why does fate have to be so cruel to me??" She cried out in a loud voice as they rain kept pouring down on her in large torrents.

"This pain is too much to bear!!" She screams out.

At that moment, she felt the presence of someone and she glanced around.

Lo and behold! a wolf with a silver glistening fur stood under the rain, watching her from a distance and she sprang up on her feet, her heart racing madly in fear....
