Sophia Kim's gaze drifted listlessly out the window, her eyes tracing the perfectly manicured lawns and gardens of her Aunt's estate.

The sun was setting, casting a warm orange glow over the opulent mansion, but Sophia felt no sense of peace or tranquility. She was trapped, a bird in a gilded cage.

The sound of footsteps echoed outside her room, and Sophia's heart sank. She knew who it was. Her Aunt she is staying with since she lost her parents.

"Sophia's Auntie entered the room and pushed Sophia out to continue with house chores.You are not allowed to enter inside your room during day time.

Sophia rushed into the kitchen and started re-cleaning what she had cleaned before so that the aunty would not get angry.

Sophia's hands moved mechanically as she scrubbed the already spotless countertops, her mind numb from the drudgery of her daily routine. She had lost count of the days since her parent's passing, when her aunt had taken her in.

With that, Sophia's aunt turned on her heel and left the kitchen, leaving Sophia feeling uneasy and foreboding.

Sophia's mind was racing with a series of questions as she finished up with the house chores,Who is Mrs Smith? Why is she coming to meet us tomorrow?

Sophia couldn't sleep at night, she was wondering what her aunt was up to this time around as she has threatened to sell her off if she sees opportunity because she claims that Sophia always finishes her

food.

The following morning, Sophia's auntie rushed into Sophia's room and woke her up, instructed her to have her bath and dress in her best attire she bought for her yesterday, that her best friend is coming to see her. Sophia's heart sank,as she realised that today was the mysterious meeting.

Sophia did as she was instructed, she dressed nice and came out and showed her auntie.Her aunty was impressed.Not quite long,Mrs Smith arrived in their estate.

They opened the door and ushered her in.

"Mrs Smith started discussing with Sophia's auntie, hope you have told her about the contract marriage? Because my son really needs it in order for him to claim his father's properties.

The court said he must be married. Any amount you want,we will pay you.just mention.

She has no choice, leave her to me, Am her aunt she must do as I said just leave her to me.

Mrs Smith's mind was at rest because of the response Sophia's auntie gave her so she demanded to see Sophia.

Sophia began to cry,and I am still too young to go into marriage . Please help me. I can't do it, Sophia's auntie gave her a chase she ran and left the parlour.

Mrs Smith handed over all the court documents to Sophia's auntie for Sophia to sign so that the court wedding will take place.

'Immediately Mrs Smith left,

Sophia's auntie rushed to Sophia's room, her face twisted in a scowl. "Sophia, come here right now!" she barked, her voice echoing through the hallway.

Sophia, still shaking with sobs, slowly emerged from her room. Her eyes were red and puffy, her face streaked with tears.

Her auntie grasped her arm, her grip like a vice. "You will sign these papers, Sophia," she hissed, holding up the court documents. "You will marry Mrs. Smith's son, and you will do it with a smile on your face."

Sophia tried to pull away, but her auntie held tight. "No, ma," Sophia pleaded, her voice shaking. "Please don't make me do this."

Her aunt's face turned purple with rage. "You will do as I say, Sophia," she spat. "You owe me, and this is how you'll repay me.

"I have been the only one taking care of you since your parents passed away,do you think it is easy? Now you have reached to fetch me money you are saying no don't dear me.

Sophia felt a surge of desperation.

Aunt, please I want to go to school, and you promised to train me in school.lf I get married now,I won't be able to go back to school since my parents are late.

Sophia's aunties eyes flicked towards Sophia,If you don't sign this document, you are leaving my house. You know you don't have anywhere else to go.

Sophia's auntie grabbed her hand, forcing her to hold the pen. "Sign it, Sophia," she hissed, her eyes blazing with anger. I will kill you in this house if you disobey me.

Sophia tried to pull her hand away, but her auntie's grip was too strong. "Please, ma," Sophia begged, tears streaming down her face. "Don't make me do this."

But her auntie was curious. She pushed Sophia's hand down, forcing her to sign it. Sophia's auntie didn't even allow her to go through it.

As soon as the pen touched the paper, Sophia felt a sense of despair wash over her. She had just signed away her freedom, her future, and her happiness.

Her auntie smiled, a cold, calculating smile. "It's done," she said, her voice dripping with satisfaction. "You're now married to Mrs. Smith's son."

Sophia felt like she was living in a nightmare. She was trapped, and she didn't know what to do.

As soon as the court wedding was over, Sophia moved to Alexander's mansion. She started staying with her husband.

At first, Alexander seemed distant but polite. But as the days went by, Sophia started to see a different side of him. He was cold, calculating, and ruthless.

Alexander would often criticize Sophia, making her feel worthless and less of herself.

and even humiliate her in front of his visitors.

He would yell at her for the smallest mistakes, always remind her how he paid her aunt millions to marry her.

He was still hitting her before the doorbell rang,he wasn't expecting anyone so he started having mixed feelings in opening the door.
