"You look absolutely stunning, darling. You really cannot wait to reunite with your lover, huh?" Aunt Emilia said with a grin which spread from ear to ear.I nodded happily at her words and turned back to the mirror as if to confirm what she just said.I returned my gaze at her, my smile radiant. "Thank you, aunt." I said in a shy tone. "Of course, I can't wait to see him. He means just so much to me, and I can't trade our love for anything.""Uhh... I see. Someone is in love here." She teased and we both burst out in laughter at the joke.
Then her smile suddenly faltered, her face squeezed into a pale, sad look.I walked up to her and crouched beside her as soon as I noticed the sudden switch in her countenance. "What's going on, aunt? You don't seem happy." I asked, worried.I couldn't get myself to sit back and watch her in that mood. Aunt Emilia has been everything for me ever since my parents died. She had taken me in her arms, tending to every one of my needs like a mother would do to her daughter. She was the absolute best thing that ever happened to me after my parents demise, and right now, I was willing to repay her in a thousand fold. I didn't want her to feel any kind of pain- not even the slightest pain. She sniffed and lowered her head. Her face dug into her palms as she let out muffled sobs. Then she raised her head up at me, tears clouding her eyes."I wish my sister and her husband were here to witness the success of their only daughter. They suffered so much for this day, but they are not here to witness it." She said, tearing up even more.My blood went shrill, my emotions rising. I wrapped my hand around her shoulder, fighting back the tears which tried to force its way out of my eyes.I patted her on the back, feigning a smile. "Everything is going to be fine, aunt. I just need you to stop bothering your heart with the past events of our lives. Everything is in the past now and I know for sure that my parents are proud of me - even in death.""No, you don't seem to get it, Georgia." She said, now turning to face me. She gripped my hands in hers. "Your parents were the best supporters. They always prayed for this day, but now that it's here, they are not alive to witness it. It sucks...it really does."A teardrop escaped from her eyes, falling on my wrist. I opened my arms and embraced her in a tight hug, feeling her warmth in mine.Watching her look that way only heightened my emotions, and I sure wasn't in the mood to be sad-not yet. It was my big moment and that was enough reason already to be happy."I understand you perfectly well and I can tell exactly how you feel. But at the same time, I don't want you to harm yourself."She nodded and offered me a little smile. "Alright, I've heard you." She said and wiped off the tears on her face. "What next right now?""Oh, I was just getting my luggage ready. I will be leaving in an hour so I don't miss the flight.""Okay... Make it snappy then. I can't afford to let you miss this opportunity to see the one dear to you." ~As soon as it was 3pm, I picked up my luggages and took it into the trunk of the car. Aunt Emilia got into the driver's seat, gearing the car to life.I got into the car shortly, and she zoomed off without saying a word to me. There was an awkward silence between us as we only exchanged occasional glances at each other.Aunt Emilia's eyes filled with emotions, and even though she tried to hide it, I could tell that my journey to an entirely different country was going to affect her deeply. As we pulled up at the airport, she got out quickly and hurried to my side, opening the door with care. She held it ajar until I had fully stepped out of the car.Afterwards, she headed towards the trunk to get the luggages. I couldn't help but admire her enthusiasm despite the fact that she didn't seem to look so happy earlier. We got into the airport lounge, and I approached the checkpoint with my luggage. I waved my last goodbye to Aunt Emilia as she drove off, and that was when I realized that I was actually more attached to her than I could imagine.A wave of loneliness engulfed me as soon as she was gone. All through the flight, I kept to myself, thinking about everything she had told me before leaving. In less than three hours, we finally arrived at our destination.I checked out from the airport and booked a ride to Steven's house. As the car sped by the busy road, I couldn't help but admire the beauty of the city.Everything seemed to have changed in just two years of being away.I had only been away for two years but it felt like I was gone for an eternity. I could only imagine what Steven's reaction would be as soon as he saw me.My grin spread from ear to ear at the mere thought of seeing him again. I got to his estate, and the security welcomed me in, and the car sped on to his apartment.Alighting from the car, I paid the driver and took out the luggages in the car's trunk. Excited, I headed straight for Steven's room but stopped in my tracks when a certain voice danced into my ears. My heart skipped a beat, and I leaned against the narrow walls to get a grip on myself."Oh yes! Steve! Right there!" A woman's erotic voice filled the air, and I froze at the spot.
