It's been 20 years since the demise of the Kingdom of Aurian, a royal family eradicated... or is there one that may have survived?

Chapter 1 My Name is....

It's late October the crisp wind is seeping through the small gaps on the window, I press my sleeve against the glass pane wiping away a small area of droplets to see what the early morning brings.

It's peaceful here just on the edge of Farimere, it's just one of the three fae kingdoms, the smallest of them which is governed by Lord Emeris I've only met him a handful of times and well let's just say not the most pleasant.

my family are one of the few where our homestead lays just beyond the boundaries where our farm provides food for the small city

, it sits within a valley with some dense shrubbery scattered surrounding the City, it's not really much to admire with dull grey stone walls and ivy clinging to majority of it with parts crumbing from wars that happened years ago, which is still yet to be rebuilt, most of the buildings inside are the same simple yet homely with open fires and herbs usually drying just above the flames that are then placed pretty much everywhere inside. Even though everything looks consistently the same there is one large building directly in the center which houses the main hall it's also where Lord Eremis resides. The building itself is much more well kept where lanterns surround the path ways, rich vibrant flowers, truly a stark difference from the rest of the place.

But the fae are rather simple people, they are born with the magic to be connected to nature. Much like other species within the world their appearance is usually quite telling, with red hair, fair skin and pointed ears which is how you can differentiate between them and witches.

My family are quite obvious fae, my mother with long red curls stopping just at her breast bone and bright emerald eyes, catching many a man's attraction... true beauty amongst the fae.

My father is a broad man who's height is a similar to my mothers about 5'5, they were blessed with two children my older sister and me, my sister is pretty much my mother just younger and slimmer and then there's me.... My parents always told me I was unique or some would state a misfotune to them, I have long white blonde waves flowing down my back reaching just above my bottom, with ice blue eyes, tanned skin and I tower pretty much above everyone a stark difference to my family or any one I've ever seen. My mother says I was a gift from nature and almost 16 years ago to this day she found me unconscious bundled over a log slowly going down the river, I was nearing the brink of death when they found me and healed me, the only thing they knew was my name...

carved into a necklace that clung around my neck,

'Azalea' the only knowlege that I have of a life that I cannot recall before this, but one I have always longed to find out.

My world revolved around Jax Harding, my older brother's captivating rockstar friend. From sixteen, I adored him; at eighteen, I clung to his casual promise: "When you're 22, maybe I'll settle down." That offhand comment became my life's beacon, guiding every choice, meticulously planning my twenty-second birthday as our destiny. But on that pivotal day in a Lower East Side bar, clutching my gift, my dream exploded. I overheard Jax' s cold voice: "Can't believe Savvy's showing up. She' s still hung up on that stupid thing I said." Then the crushing plot: "We' re gonna tell Savvy I' m engaged to Chloe, maybe even hint she' s pregnant. That should scare her off." My gift, my future, slipped from my numb fingers. I fled into the cold New York rain, devastated by betrayal. Later, Jax introduced Chloe as his "fiancée" while his bandmates mocked my "adorable crush"-he did nothing. As an art installation fell, he saved Chloe, abandoning me to severe injury. In the hospital, he came for "damage control," then shockingly shoved me into a fountain, leaving me to bleed, calling me a "jealous psycho." How could the man I loved, who once saved me, become this cruel and publicly humiliate me? Why was my devotion seen as an annoyance to be brutally extinguished with lies and assault? Was I just a problem, my loyalty met with hatred? I would not be his victim. Injured and betrayed, I made an unshakeable vow: I was done. I blocked his number and everyone connected to him, severing ties. This was not an escape; this was my rebirth. Florence awaited, a new life on my terms, unburdened by broken promises.
