Chapter 1 THE MEETING

The air inside the lavish ballroom was heavy with anticipation, the kind that made Elena's heart race. She stood at the entrance, the glimmer of crystal chandeliers casting an ethereal light over the guests, who wore their wealth like armor. The gala was a spectacle of the Russo crime family, a celebration that masked the darker dealings that thrived beneath the surface. Elena had no business being here. Clad in a simple yet elegant dress, she felt out of place among the opulent gowns and tailored suits.

Her purpose was singular: to keep an eye on her brother, Marco, who had been pulled deeper into the mafia's grip than she could ever have imagined. With each passing moment, her gut twisted tighter, sensing danger lurking just beyond the glittering facade. As she scanned the crowd, her gaze landed on Luca Russo, the enigmatic heir of the family. He was a figure of both charm and intimidation, effortlessly commanding the attention of everyone around him. Their eyes locked, and for a fleeting moment, the world around them faded. It was a dangerous connection-one that could pull her into chaos. Just as she turned away, determined to blend into the background, a sudden commotion erupted near the bar. A man staggered backward, clutching his chest, eyes wide with terror. Gunshots rang out, echoing through the elegant hall as screams filled the air. Panic erupted as guests scrambled for the exits, the luxurious ambiance shattered in an instant. Elena's heart hammered in her chest as she instinctively searched for Marco. She spotted him across the room, frozen in shock, his eyes darting around. Fear coursed through her veins as she made her way through the chaos, weaving past terrified guests and fallen champagne flutes. She reached him just as the lights flickered ominously, plunging them into momentary darkness. "What's happening?" she shouted over the cacophony, gripping his arm tightly. Before he could answer, a shadowy figure emerged from the darkness, a gun trained on Marco. Elena's breath caught in her throat as she realized the figure was a hitman, the gun glinting ominously in the dim light. Instinct took over, and she pushed Marco aside, taking the bullet meant for him. The world around her faded to black as pain surged through her body. --- She awoke in a dimly lit room, her heart racing. Panic washed over her as she realized she wasn't in the ballroom anymore. She tried to sit up, but a wave of dizziness crashed over her. Blinking against the harsh light, she found herself bound to a chair, the harsh ropes digging into her skin. "Welcome back, princess," a voice drawled from the shadows. It was Luca. He stepped into view, concern etched on his handsome face, but there was also an unmistakable edge of danger. "You shouldn't have intervened." "What's going on?" she croaked, her throat dry and raw. He stepped closer, the tension between them thickening. "They were after you. After Marco. We need to figure out who betrayed us." She stared into his eyes, those piercing blues that seemed to wrestle with conflict. Just as she opened her mouth to speak, the door burst open, and a group of men in dark suits flooded the room. The lead man, with a scar running down his cheek, pointed a finger at Luca. "You've made a mistake letting her live," he spat. "She's a liability." Elena's heart raced. She was caught in the crossfire of a deadly game she never wanted to play. As chaos erupted around her, Luca's expression shifted from concern to defiance. "Get her out of here," he commanded, pushing her toward the exit. But just as they turned to run, a loud bang echoed through the air-the sound of a gunshot. Elena froze, fear clawing at her throat. She glanced back to see Luca stagger, a look of shock etched on his face. "Run!" he shouted, his voice strained as he fell to his knees. The chapter ended with Elena torn between loyalty and fear, her heart racing as she faced the darkness ahead. She could either flee to save herself or fight for the man who had just saved her life, leaving readers on the edge of their seats, unsure of what choice she would make.

I received a pornographic video. "Do you like this?" The man speaking in the video is my husband, Mark, whom I haven't seen for several months. He is naked, his shirt and pants scattered on the ground, thrusting forcefully on a woman whose face I can't see, her plump and round breasts bouncing vigorously. I can clearly hear the slapping sounds in the video, mixed with lustful moans and grunts. "Yes, yes, fuck me hard, baby," the woman screams ecstatically in response. "You naughty girl!" Mark stands up and flips her over, slapping her buttocks as he speaks. "Stick your ass up!" The woman giggles, turns around, sways her buttocks, and kneels on the bed. I feel like someone has poured a bucket of ice water on my head. It's bad enough that my husband is having an affair, but what's worse is that the other woman is my own sister, Bella. ************************************************************************************************************************ "I want to get a divorce, Mark," I repeated myself in case he didn't hear me the first time-even though I knew he'd heard me clearly. He stared at me with a frown before answering coldly, "It's not up to you! I'm very busy, don't waste my time with such boring topics, or try to attract my attention!" The last thing I was going to do was argue or bicker with him. "I will have the lawyer send you the divorce agreement," was all I said, as calmly as I could muster. He didn't even say another word after that and just went through the door he'd been standing in front of, slamming it harshly behind him. My eyes lingered on the knob of the door a bit absentmindedly before I pulled the wedding ring off my finger and placed it on the table. I grabbed my suitcase, which I'd already had my things packed in and headed out of the house.
