Chapter 1 He broke my heart!

"He broke my heart!" She sobbed, wiping her tears with the white paper she had in her hand. Anita had heard of my expertise as a therapist, she was going through a heart break and got recommendations about me.

Sitting in my office, she told me her story, as shocked as I was, I still had to do my job. I outlined the steps she needed to take to get through it, entertained her questions and buttressed on all the points I had already made.

Slowly, the day was coming to a close, I was starting to round up with all the job I had to do for the day, countless files scattered all over in my office, my secretary, Jane sat quietly, matching the missing files to the right folder.

We worked on for the following minutes, until my phone buzzed, it was a text from Brenda, my best friend.

'Let's meet up this evening, I've got some business deals to discuss.' it read, she knew already, I was never one to sleep on anything that had to do with fruitful business deals.

'It's evening already. Do I just make my way down or what?' I texted back. 'Oh! That would be even better' she texted.

"Jane, you can close early today, once you're done with arranging the files, you can retire for the day," I instructed, grabbing my hand bag and car keys and dashing out.

I was in so much of a hurry, I didn't realize I had forgotten something. I saw Jane coming after me, as I walked down the hallway, she was waving for me to wait, but I waved back, indicating to her that whatever it was could wait.

She had tried calling repeatedly, but I wasn't taking my calls. I dashed into my car, driving off. I had barely gone any farther, when I noticed that I was out of fuel, the arrow was already ticking red.

I managed to get to the closest fueling station, luckily I had a little cash on me, it was then I noticed I wasn't with my credit card.

I then remembered the moment Jane had been calling out to me. I was fortunately able to get the fuel. Silly me! I was this in a rush because I didn't want to be even a minute late for the deal she wanted to talk about.

I reversed my car, trying to head back onto the road, when I heard a crashing sound, my car had been hit from behind.

"Damn it! Who the hell is this!?" I soliloquized, anger rising within me, I tried to calm myself down, remembering I was a psycotherapist, I shouldn't be seen in public throwing tantrums.

Storming out of my car, I walked in the direction of the car that had just hit my car from behind, a man was already standing in front of the car, as if waiting for me.

He wore what appeared to be a driver's uniform, I could already tell from his countenance that he was sorry.

"Sincere apologies, Ma'am for the hit." He said, waiting for an answer from me. I knew fully well that it was my fault, but I didn't want to be in the wrong.

"It's alright." I let out, pacified already by his calm demeanor. I didn't see the need to speak further, I was walking back to my car when I saw the driver guy coming after me.

"Excuse me Miss!" He called out, desperately wishing I'll storm, turning elegantly, I looked at him, "how may I help you? Please." I said, trying to sound as polite as possible, I was already getting irritated, I had a business deal to discuss.

"I'm very... Sorry I had to stop you in the way. My boss... My boss wishes to speak to you, Ma'am." He said, looking in the direction of the parked car.

"Oh I see, what is the matter? Any concerns? I already said it's alright. So there's no point or need for me to speak with your boss." I said, almost walking away.

"No... No... Ma'am, it's not about that. He wants to see you for a different reason." He said.

"Okay. I don't mean this the wrong way, but please tell your boss with all due respect, that I won't be able to see him now, as I have a meeting to catch up with." I said, a polite facial expression pasted on my face.

I was yet again, about to walk away, "Okay... Ma'am, he asked to give you his card, just incase you might be too busy.... To... You ...know...." He said, "Nothing serious, just a little chit chat." He added.

"I understand, thank you." I said, taking the card without giving it a look. I tossed it into my bag and forgot about it.

My phone was buzzing relentlessly, Brenda had been calling, she was wondering why I had taken so long.

I finally arrived at the venue, I slid into my silver stoned pink heels, applied some lude lipstick to my lips, gave my face a powder pat, brushed my long black hair, all before stepping out of my car.

I returned to the car to get a few puffs of my exotic, feminine scented perfume, and take one last look at myself before going into the restaurant. I had on, a black, skin tight gown with matching pink earrings and a pink necklace.

I cat walked into the restaurant, welcomed by the sweet signature aroma of delicious, well cooked, baked, grilled and fried foods. I saw Brenda sitting comfy in the company of a drop dead gorgeous man, I guessed it'll be the business partner with whom we were to discuss the business deal.

Unsure, I picked my phone to text her, 'Is that the business partner?' I texted, looking at my phone as I walked towards the table where they sat.

'Yes, you're lucky, you arrived few seconds after he did!' she texted, with an emoji depictive of surprise.
