Losing you, after falling in love with you, I picked up a billionaire CEO who pretended to be a runaway from a pyramid scheme, asking me for shelter. I accidentally saw her chat with her secretary: [Miss, everything is arranged, just waiting for your return.] [What are your plans regarding Miss Bi?] [The master said, if the young lady is truly interested, bringing her into the family is also possible.] Then came a voice message from Gu Yu, her tone icy. [Just an orphan, does she even deserve it?] [Just pay her a few million.] I cried. Gu Yu, you made me wait one hundred seventy-three days for this sentence. ......

Chapter 1

I lost her after I fell in love with her.

I found a billionaire CEO who pretended to be a runaway from an illegal pyramid scheme, asking me to take her in.

I secretly peeked at her chat with her secretary.

"Miss Howard, everything is arranged, just waiting for your return. What do you plan to do about Miss Lewis? Mr. Howard, if you are truly interested, bringing her in is possible." Her secretary said.

Then there was a voice message from Aimee Howard, her tone icy, "She's just an orphan. Does she deserve it? Just pay her a few million and be done with it."

I was overcome with emotion. These were the words Aimee made me wait for one hundred seventy-three days.

Within a week, managed to lose my bike, break my phone screen, and toss away a winning lottery ticket worth a thousand.

So, I visited a psychic.

The old man squinted his eyes and said, "Unimaginable fortune lies to the East."

Upon leaving, my eyes were drawn to East Park across the street.

But instead of finding a million dollars, I did pick up a beautiful woman in distress.

Her name was Aimee, and she said she had been trapped in an illegal pyramid scheme for eight years. She had just escaped to this town with nothing and was looking for a place to stay.

I was initially surprised, then secretly delighted. Didn't think the small town was out of touch. I just saw the news that Aimee Howard, the CEO of the billion-dollar Skia Group, had been in a car accident and fallen off a cliff.

Yet here this stunning beauty stood perfectly fine in front of me.

Playing role play, huh? Then I played along with the young lady, served her well, and our entire orphanage didn't have to worry about money for the rest of our lives.

The director, Corrie Finch, initially disagreed with letting an unknown person stay at the orphanage. After all, everyone at the orphanage was living on a tight budget. But Aimee was very good at lying through her teeth.

After Aimee cleaned up, she looked every bit as beautiful as a starlet.

Corrie nodded repeatedly, "Alright, she can stay and help out." and then she whispered to me, "Of all the kids who left our orphanage, you are the most promising."

I couldn't resist cracking a joke, bringing back a beauty made me promising?

I took great care of Aimee, not only because she would be the orphanage's golden goose but also because Skia Group wielded immense power. If I accidentally offended her and she held a grudge, Wouldn't I end up backfiring and losing everything?

The whole orphanage said Aimee was just a pretty face. I admitted, if I didn't have an agenda, I would be the first to send this beautiful but incredibly cold diva out.

The orphanage was already struggling to make ends meet, and Aimee's arrival only made things worse.

She first broke fifty plates while washing dishes, and I quickly said, "Just as well, the orphanage needed to get rid of some old stuff!"

Then she mistook salt for sugar while cooking, and I laughed it off, "The kids have been wanting something sweet for a long time."

Later, she dyed all the white sheets black while doing laundry, and I excitedly praised, "This pattern is so artistic!"

Finally, she made the kids cry while tutoring them, and I was indignant, "These little brats don't even know this, they deserve a scolding!"

Corrie gave me a strange look, "Katharine, do you like that woman?"

Even Aimee herself thought the same.

I quickly shook my head, "You're just kidding, Ms. Finch."

What I liked was her money, not her.

This level of CEO like her was ruthless, and I wouldn't let myself get caught up or played for a fool. From the first moment I saw her, I knew she was lying.

Secretly, I gathered all the information on Skia Group and Aimee. The pyramid scheme and orphan story were just excuses for Aimee to hide her identity. Only by being picked up by someone would her whereabouts not be tracked by big data.

Skia Group's biggest rival launched a business rivalry targeting Aimee, intending to bring down Skia Group and acquire it.

Aimee went along with the plan, pretending to have fallen off a cliff and died, while secretly gathering evidence to deliver a decisive blow to her rival. The leverage against the biggest rival had been right here in this small town.

Aimee seemed to have gotten used to the work at the orphanage, and the kids started affectionately calling her "Aimee."

But I was getting more anxious. Aimee was a billionaire CEO, and her company was being torn apart by rivals, how could she still have the mind to experience life here?

Until I saw her chat with her secretary, I was unusually excited; Aimee was finally about to close in on her prey!

But in the days that followed, Aimee showed no unusual behavior, and I was growing increasingly anxious.

My best friend, a C-list actress named Olivia White, advised me, "The more it comes to this, the more you need to act calm and normal."

But I wasn't a professional actress like her. While playing the piano for the kids at the orphanage that night, I still hit several wrong notes.

After the performance, Aimee frowned, her slender fingers pressing against her temples.

"What's wrong? Has the essential oil run out?" I naturally massaged her forehead gently.

Perhaps the billionaire CEO had too many worries, and migraines were her old problem. After I found out, I specially prepared a soothing essential oil for her, which was very effective.

Aimee hummed in enjoyment, her voice like a clear spring, then curiously asked, "Why were you so distracted tonight?"

After all, I had never made a mistake playing the piano.

I tugged at my lips, thinking about when she would give me a few million, but could I say that?

"I was wondering, how much do you like me?" I said.

I met her jet-black eyes and couldn't help but marvel once again at how beautiful she was, like a lily blooming quietly in the night.

Aimee was taken aback, clearly not expecting me to ask that.

"You're a creepy bastard." His eyes smolder me and his answering grin is nothing short of beautiful. Deadly. "Yet you hunger for me. Tell me, this appetite of yours, does it always tend toward 'creepy bastards'?" **** Widower and ex-boss to the Mafia, Zefiro Della Rocca, has an unhealthy fixation on the woman nextdoor. It began as a coincidence, growing into mere curiosity, and soon, it was an itch he couldn't ignore, like a quick fix of crack for an addict. He didn't know her name, but he knew every inch of her skin, how it flushed when she climaxed, her favourite novel and that every night she contemplated suicide. He didn't want to care, despising his rapt fascination of the woman. She was in love with her abusive husband. She was married, bound by a contract to the Bratva's hitman. She was off-limits. But when Zefiro wanted something, it was with an intensity that bordered on madness. He obsessed, possessed, owned. There'd be bloodshed if he touched her, but the sight of blood always did fascinate him. * When Susanna flees from her husband, she stumbles right into the arms of her devilishly handsome neighbour with a brooding glare. He couldn't stand her, but she needed him, if she was ever going to escape her husband who now wanted her dead. Better the devil you know than the angel you don't. She should have recalled that before hopping into Zefiro's car and letting him whisk her away to Italy. Maybe then, she wouldn't have started an affair with him.
