I'm 32 years old, and I want to have a home. But perhaps I'm really too old for that. I've tried everything, yet I still can't conceive a child. However, Zhou Minghao's mother is pregnant. Zhou Minghao's mother tells him, "You have two options. The first option is to break up. You can keep your share of this house, and your dad will arrange a government job for you." "The second option is that you can stay together. But from now on, everything in this house will belong to your brother, and you'll have to figure out your own way of living from then on." My partner, Zhou Minghao, which one will you choose?

Chapter 1

I was 32 years old and I was longing for a family.

However, perhaps I was truly getting on in years.

Nevertheless, I had tried every possible way, but still couldn't conceive a child.

However, Kevin Todd's mother was pregnant.

Kevin's mother said to him, "You have two choices. The first one is to break up with her. You'll still own a house here, and your father will arrange a job in a government department for you. The second option is that you can stay together with her. But in that case, everything in the family will go to your younger brother, and you'll have to figure out how to live your life on your own."

My love, Kevin, which one will you choose?

In our cozy little cottage, Kevin and I kept discussing and daydreaming.

We pictured what our baby would look like in the future, whether it would take after him more or me, whether it would be a boy or a girl, and what name we should give it.

We even pictured what their wedding would be like in the future and made plans for the ceremony.

We were going to get married soon, because Kevi's mother had finally consented to our marriage.

Once I got pregnant, Kevin and I could get married right away.

One month, two months... half a year passed.

I went into the bathroom again, waiting nervously for the verdict of fate.

"Ava, How's it going this time?" Kevin waited eagerly outside the bathroom door.

I shook my head, threw the test strip into the trash bin, and sat down on the bed again.

"Ava, Maybe this one is defective," he said with a smile. "There are still a few more here. Let's wait for a few days and test again. Maybe it's too early. Look, I bought this one from abroad. It must be effective."

I swatted away the pregnancy test strip he was holding and covered my face, bursting into tears.

I was 31 years old; perhaps I was truly getting on in years.

Kevin sat down beside me and gently put his arm around me.

"Don't worry," he kissed the top of my head. "I heard from my dad that there's an old specialist who's retired and really knows his stuff."

"We'll surely have a child. Remember, you got pregnant before, but it ended in a chemical pregnancy."

I didn't feel like talking and just kept crying.

I hated myself for being so useless. Despite spending so much money and enduring so much pain, I still couldn't give Kevin a child.

Kevin held me in his arms, staying with me and gently comforting me. "Ava, We're still young. There's no need to rush. It'll come in due time."

Then Kevin's phone rang. It was his father calling.

After answering the call, Kevin looked bewildered, as if the information on the phone was truly astonishing.

"Ava, My dad wants us to go home together. He said my mom has something to tell us."

He scratched his head. "From my dad's tone, he seemed really cheerful."

Kevin thought for a moment, "It must be because we've been spending quality time with them every holiday."

"Maybe this time my mom agreed to our marriage." Kevin became more and more excited as he said this.

"We're getting married! Hard work pays off. Even though you are not pregnant yet, hasn't my family agreed already?"

I also recalled his mother's attitude towards me, which had indeed changed a lot in the past half year.

"It must be because we told my dad long ago that we were planning to have a baby." He looked quite proud, "My mom may not say it out loud, but she's actually eager to have a grandchild."

Yes, since then, Kevin's mother no longer had a stern look on her face when she saw me and often smiled instead.

Sometimes, she even talked with me about tips for pregnancy preparation.

And every time Kevin and I went to his parents' home for dinner, the dishes were prepared with great care.

There was nothing that pregnant women shouldn't eat. Instead, all the food was nutritious and good for pregnancy and maintaining the fetus.

"Don't worry. They know how hard we've been trying to prepare for pregnancy. They must know that we truly love each other." Kevin happily picked me up in his arms. "They'll surely agree to our marriage."

"Yes," I nodded vigorously. "Let's buy some milk to take back home."

"Alright."
