Celine has had bad luck in relationships, so her sister steps in to deal with the jerk.

Chapter 1 The Ice-Cold Charmer

It was the weekend when I got a call from my elder sister, Celine Payne. She told me that her husband, Roderick Payne, had quit his job.

I was shocked. My brother-in-law had been working as a sales manager at a publicly traded company, climbing the ranks for years. His salary was impressive, and he was set to be promoted to director this year. Why would he resign so suddenly?

My sister explained it was all because of "The Wolf." "The Wolf," whose real name was Andres Woolf, held the same position as Roderick, managing another regional sales team. For years, the two had been fierce rivals, constantly competing against each other. Andres was known for his commanding presence-intimidating without saying a word. People said that interacting with him could make you break out in a cold sweat, which was how he earned the nickname "The Wolf."

The promotion to director was a two-man race between "The Wolf" and Roderick. Their battle had reached a fever pitch recently, and now that Roderick had left, I didn't need my sister to spell it out. It was obvious: her husband had lost, and "The Wolf" had taken the crown.

After comforting my sister, I made a quick decision: I'd join Helion Enterprises tomorrow.

I had just finished my master's degree abroad, graduating with honors. I'd received offers from two industry giants, one of which was Helion Enterprises-the same company where Roderick had worked. Before the call, I'd been torn about which offer to accept. But now the choice was clear. I was going to Helion Enterprises, if only to see what this Mr. Woolf was made of-the man who'd managed to edge out my sharp, capable brother-in-law.

On my first day at work, I met Charlee Murray from the sales department.

Charlee was stunning, with her slim figure, almond-shaped face, and big, expressive eyes. She was not only beautiful but also warm and approachable, showing none of the arrogance one might expect.

When she found out I hadn't had breakfast, she took me to the conference room and generously offered me half of her takeout.

I felt a bit embarrassed, but Charlee pressed the sandwich into my hand. "Don't be shy! The moment I saw you, I just knew we'd get along."

After breakfast, she enthusiastically showed me around the office. As we passed a certain room, I noticed a small brass plaque on the door that read, "Sales Director." The door wasn't fully closed, and I could see a man inside talking on the phone. From where I stood, I could only see his back.

Before I could get a better look, Charlee pulled me away. After a tour of the office, we looped back around, and this time, the door to the Sales Director's office opened. A tall man stepped out.

Charlee hurried forward to introduce us. "Good morning, Mr. Woolf. This is Maggie Walsh, our new hire in the Marketing Department. Maggie, this is Mr. Woolf from Sales."

"Nice to meet you, Mr. Woolf," I said politely, though inwardly I was gritting my teeth.

So, this was Mr. Woolf-the infamous "Wolf." What a coincidence. Fate sure liked to mess with me.

I looked up, intending to size him up, but I froze in place.

This man was... stunning. He looked far younger than I'd expected-probably not even thirty. He wore a blue shirt and beige trousers that highlighted his perfectly toned physique. He clearly worked out regularly, and the way he carried himself was effortlessly elegant. Just standing there, he looked like he belonged on the cover of a fashion magazine.

Hearing my greeting, he glanced at me. His eyes were amber, cool and aloof. His expression was as icy as his demeanor, and the phrase "ice-cold charmer" immediately popped into my head. After a quick, indifferent glance, he said flatly, "Welcome aboard."

The words were polite, but his tone and demeanor were so frosty that I couldn't feel even a shred of warmth.

Wasn't a Sales Director supposed to be charismatic and approachable, someone who could win people over effortlessly? How did someone this cold manage to climb the ranks in sales? I couldn't wrap my head around it.

As he walked away, I finally snapped out of it and muttered, "Mr. Woolf is so distant. What a mystery."
