Chapter 1 The Ordinary girl

Lily woke up to the sound of her blaring alarm. She was set to begin work with one of the biggest Advertising Companies in San Francisco. With messy hair and eyes that still wanted to close, She pulled herself together because she had looked forward to this day for a very long time.

She stretched a bit and got out of bed. "Today is going to be a good day, I can just feel it!" she grinned from ear to ear as she made her way to the bathroom to have a shower and get ready.

She wasn't one to be shabby so she made an extra effort and dressed the part. She wore a Brown knee length Skirt, a black Satin blouse, pantyhose that matched her skin tone and her favorite pair of black Zara. She was naturally gorgeous with big blue eyes, so she didn't have to do too much with make-up, she opted for a nice shade of red lipstick and brought the look together with a Nice light beige Trench coat because it was Fall.

As she sauntered out of her room, she could hear her best friend since High school talking in the dining area. She was in a Zoom meeting as she worked from home on some days. Lily moved towards her and gave her a peck on her head.

"Hi mama," Janice whispered, making motions on her laptop to mute herself. " Sleep okay?"

"Yes!!" Lily sharply blurted out "Like a baby".

"I know you're ready for today, My smart, ambitious queen. Have a wonderful first day and show them what a great addition you are to their company."

Lily hugged Janice and made her way out, before stopping to say "Have a great day today, Love you."

She had time, she has always been a punctual young lady as she made her way to catch her bus. "Today is the beginning of the rest of my life," she whispered.

Lily Bennett was the only child of her parents, they were an average but happy family, her parents loved her very much, but tragedy struck when both her dad and her mum were involved in a ghastly accident that claimed both their lives, she was just 15 years old.

She was sent off to live with her Distant relative who didn't care for Lily, she maltreated her, scolded her and even hit her a few times when she got the chance.

Lily had learned the hard way that she must always think of herself, she had made a promise on the graves of her parents that she would lead a good life, she will achieve all her dreams and aspirations and make sure she made them proud.

And this was a proud moment for her and her deceased parents. She breathed out slowly as the bus made its way towards her new office.

"This would be your new working space," Miss Rach said nicely while gesturing to a table and chair with a desktop on it. "You are such a great addition to the team and I look forward to working with you!"

'Thank you so much, Miss Ruth, I look forward to working with you and this great establishment too."

"We are taking on a new client," announced Mr Jacob Franky. "He is a real estate mogul, I'm sure you guys have heard about him."

Mr Nathan had walked in with his assistant and another employee of his.

"It will be a pleasure to work with your company as I know you are one of the major top advertising companies in Silicon Valley." He said while grinning.

"Yes of course we are, we will make sure we meet your business goals," in that same light he turned swiftly to Lily "Mr Nathan will be your new client, help him in whatever way you can."

"Yes sir," Lily tried to mumble as she was not expecting to take up any new clients so soon, but she was ready, she swore she was ready. She straightened her back and walked briskly towards where Mr Nathan and his people stood.

"Glad to have you onboard, sir, I look forward to working with you and smashing your business goals." She stretched out her hand to shake him, he took her hand in his and smiled.

"Well, me too," he chuckled softly,

" In that case, first order of business, would you like to accompany me to an exclusive gala?"
