... "Mr Reynolds, she gave birth to twins." The nurse said to the handsome man standing by the side of the ward where the sleeping Ella lay. His lips curved up in a smirk. "Give one of the babies to me and the other to her mother... Also, don't let the mother know she gave birth to twins." The nurse was confused with the orders but had no choice but to follow them. She bowed respectfully "Yes, Mr. Reynolds" ... Betrayed by her family, her boyfriend, and best friend, Ella makes a stupid decision. She flirted her way into the top bar in the country and drank until she was completely and utterly drunk. She seduces the top billionaire and young CEO Noah Reynolds who got captivated and intrigued with her at first sight and had a night stand with him. When she woke up the next morning, he was gone, and the only thing he left was a thousand-dollar bill next to her bed. A few months later, Ella found out she was pregnant and decided to keep the baby. Unknowing to her, Noah Reynolds had been watching her from afar and also knew she was pregnant with his children. 6 years later, Ella and her daughter had an argument and made Kaila, Ella's daughter, run out in the rain but then she was hit by a really expensive car, and just before she passed out, she saw someone in the back seat of the car, who looked exactly like her!

Chapter 1 Frustrated

"Get out of here and never come back!" The landlord shouted, slamming the door in the faces of the mother and daughter. Their luggage had just been tossed unceremoniously onto the street.

"Please, p..." The little girl's pleas fell on deaf ears.

Some of their neighbors had gathered to watch the show. Only a few even bothered to plead with the landlord for them, while the rest just mocked the mother and daughter.

Kaila broke down in tears, clutching her small backpack tightly. "Mum, what are we going to do now?" she asked, looking up at her mother, Ella, whose beautiful face was marred by tears.

Ella had her face turned to the side with her eyes shut as she thought of how and where they would sleep tonight.

Kaila blinked her big blue eyes at her mother. "Uncle Benny doesn't want us to stay here anymore right? Where are we going to go?" She had a vague idea of what was happening, but one thing was sure... Her uncle didn't want them to stay in the house anymore.

"Is it..." She began furrowing her brows. "Is it because I slept in the living room?" As soon as those words came out of her mouth, they opened wide and her hands went to cover them. "It's because of me isn't it. I did something wrong that's why Uncle Benny is towing our things out." Kaila cried.

Ellla was completely shut of words. Her daughter really thought that it was because of her they were getting thrown out? If anything she was the reason why 'Uncle Benny' even allowrd them to stay this long!

How can anyone be annoyed with such a cute face?

"I'm sorry, so sorry," Kaila continued to cry hugging her hands to herself.

"It's not your fault, you didn't do anything wrong okay," Ella said with a grunt.

The frustration mixed with her daughter's tears caused her to open her eyes. She pursed her lips, staring at the apartment building they had just been thrown out of. That man couldn't give her even one more day...just one more day to gather the money.

But no... he had to toss them out onto the street. How thoughtful.

"Damn it!" she shouted, brushing her long black hair back with shaking hands.

Everything was crumbling and crashing down it was just so overwhelming.

"Your house wasn't even nice!!!" She yelled in anger at the huge building, and somehow the building... Probably the landlord shouted back.

"Better find a place your daughter would sleep for the night! I feel bad for the girl. How the hell did she end up with an irresponsible mother like you!"

"Why you..."

"You should have left her with her father!!!"

All the words she was about to say just went back to her throat as the landlord words rang in her head.

'You should have left her with her father...'

She blinked twice to stop the tears which were about flowing from her eyes.

She couldn't do that, she really couldn't. Not only because she couldn't bear to part with her child, but also because she had absolutely no idea who her father was!

'Don't you dare cry Ella, he's not worth it.' She whispered to herself, blinking again before looking up.

That Uncle Benny was crossing his limits, more like he had crossed every fucking possible limit and was now in her freaking road!

"Mum?" Kaila called, her face etched with confusion as she looked up at her mother.

She could only hear a few words her mother and Uncle said... More like yelled to each other, but couldn't understand any of them.

Eloise noticed that her daughter was picking up on her frustration, so she forced a smile on her face. "Let's just get out of here first," she said with a sniffle but little Kaila stood still.

'They were leaving, they were really leaving! Couldn't mummy beg Uncle Benny so they would stay here longer?' Kaila said as she stared at the building their luggages just got hauled out of.

Eloise sighed, sensing her daughter's hesitation. She dropped her bags and knelt to cup Kaila's face in her hands. "Please, we can't just stand here. It's about to rain, and we need to find somewhere safe."

Reluctantly, Kaila nodded.

Eloise smiled through her tears, patting her daughter's cheek before standing up. "Alright. Pick up your bags. We need to find shelter before the rain starts."

Kaila hesitated but finally complied, her lips pouting in annoyance, this wasn't her first rodeo. For the past two years, her previous uncle's had been doing the exact same thing Uncle Benny just did now. Even the exchange of shouts were the same, only that this time her mother wanted to cry.

She almost never cries.

As they moved away, a gust of wind whipped through the empty street, and the first drops of rain began to fall.

"Kay," Eloise called, glancing at her daughter. "I think it's really going to rain."

"You said that before," Kaila snapped, rolling her eyes.

Eloise blinked, surprised by her daughter's sudden attitude. "Hey, you're not the only one frustrated with this situation!"

She was more than frustrated. Today had started off promising, but one call from their landlord had ruined everything.

Ella groaned, tears streaming down her face. It was getting cold and dark, and she could feel the weight of the rain coming. But then, she spotted something in the distance.

"A bus station!" she exclaimed, relief flooding her. "Come on, we've got to hurry!"

With renewed urgency, she and Kaila rushed toward the station, clutching their bags tightly.

The wind picked up, and the street remained deserted as they practically ran for the only shelter in sight.

No sooner had they stepped inside than the rain began to pour heavily.

As Ella watched the downpour, Kaila sniffled, not just from the cold but because once again, they had no where to go, practically homeless.

"Mum..."

Ella turned away from the window to face her daughter. "What is it?" she asked softly, sitting beside her.

"Since you said it's not my fault, then is it yours?" Kaila asked quietly.

"What the... my fault?" Ella's voice was incredulous as she pointed at her chest, "How is this my fault?"

Kaila shrugged. "I don't know. You probably did something to offend Uncle Benny, just like you did to dad."

What?!

Ella's face contorted in shock and anger. "Me? I did something to your father?" She snorted. "If you said I did something to your Uncle Benny, that's fine I'll take it, but to that good for nothing son of a bitch... " Her voice went high-pitched but just before she could start yelling, Ella controlled herself. "I don't have time for this conversation right now."

"No, we have to talk." Kaila's little voice grew firm. "You never talk about him. Every time I ask, you shun me. If nothing happened why isn't he here? Why did he leave us to suffer like this?" She cried.

All her life, she never had a permanent male figure in her life not to talk of a father, but she never really cared up until she started elementary school. It was then she realized how everyone in her class had a man they call 'dad' and she didn't.

What made it worse was that her mother refused saying anything.

"Fuck this. How are to sure your father even wants you? Huh?..."

Kaila shook her head and mumbled. "No, he... He wants me."

"Why isn't he here then?"

Ella's patience frayed. The past few days had been hell. She had lost her job and had been searching desperately for another. This morning, she had even prepared for a job interview, only to receive the landlord's call just before her turn.

"Enough!" she snapped, unable to hold back her anger. "I will not sit here and let a six-year-old child question me about a man who wants nothing to do with us!"

Tears welled in Kaila's eyes as she stared at her mother. "So, so he really doesn't want me?"

She thought her mother only said it out of anger, but it turned out to he true.

Ella's heart sank. She hadn't meant to say that. "No, that's not..." she stammered, but Kaila was already shaking her head, tears streaming down her cheeks.

"Why doesn't he want me? Was I such a bad kid that he left?"

"No, honey..."

Ella's internal thoughts spiraled. 'The bastard never even met you.' She couldn't bring herself to say it out loud.

"I... No..." Kaila cried, standing up.

Ella reached out, desperate to comfort her, but Kaila pulled away.

"Baby..." Before Ella could finish, Kaila ran out into the rain, not looking back.

"Kaila!" Ella shouted, her heart racing. "Kaila!!!"
