"Are you aware of your purpose here?" Ronan's voice was low and husky, his tone laced with curiosity and skepticism. Niamh's eyes cast downward, her voice barely above a whisper, "I-I thought I was to serve you, Young Master," Ronan's gaze pierced through her, his eyes burning with intensity, "You are my Pet, not my maid. Your responsibility is to obey my every whim," Her heart raced as she struggled to comprehend his intentions. Ronan's words hung in the air like a dark prophecy, "But for now, I crave a taste of your lips and your innocence,"

Chapter 1 A Soul On Fire

Niamh crept through the dimly lit corridors, her bare feet making barely a sound on the cold stone floor. Flickering torches cast eerie shadows, making her feel like unseen eyes watched her every move. She shivered, despite the warmth of the summer evening.

As she turned a corner, a figure emerged from the darkness. Ronan's piercing gaze locked onto hers, and Niamh felt a shiver run down her spine. Rumors swirled around him like a dark aura - whispers of cruelty, ruthlessness, and a heart blacker than coal.

But as their eyes met, Niamh saw a glimmer of curiosity, of intrigue. It was enough to make her hesitate, to wonder if the rumors were true.

"Are you aware of your purpose here?" Ronan's voice was low and husky, his tone laced with curiosity and skepticism.

Niamh's eyes cast downward, her voice barely above a whisper, "I-I thought I was to serve you, Young Master,"

Her heart raced as she struggled to comprehend his intentions. Ronan's words hung in the air like a dark prophecy, "But for now, I crave a taste of your lips and your innocence,"

They entered the grand room, yet Niamh's heart sank. The laughter echoing seemed to mock her, a cruel reminder of her predicament. She felt like a captive animal, forced to obey Ronan's every command, no matter how humiliating or degrading.

But then, a sudden interruption - a man appeared beside her, his voice low and urgent, "Wipe off your tears, a smile suits your face much more," Niamh turned to face him, her heart racing, "Who are you?"

The man's eyes gleamed with a fierce intensity, "You are mine now. By the laws of our land, Ronan cannot refuse my challenge. You will come with me, Niamh,"

Niamh's mind reeled as she tried to process what was happening. She felt a surge of fear and resentment towards this stranger, but also a spark of curiosity.

Cassius' gaze burned with intensity as he reached for her hand. Niamh pulled away, her heart racing, "I won't go anywhere with you!" she exclaimed, trying to sound braver than she felt.

Cassius' expression darkened, but he didn't force her. Instead, he nodded curtly, "Very well. But know this, Niamh; you are now under my protection. Ronan will not hurt you again. And soon, you will learn why I have claimed you,"

He pulled out a small, exquisite necklace from a pouch at his waist, "Take this," he said, his voice low and urgent, "It will remind you of my promise. You are mine now, Niamh. And I will come for you soon,"

With that, Cassius turned and exited the hall, leaving Niamh stunned and bewildered, the necklace clutched in her hand.

Niamh walked into Ronan's room, her heart still racing from the encounter with Cassius. But Ronan wasn't there, "Why would Young Master summon me again?" she muttered, narrowing her eyes at the necklace on her neck.

Suddenly, his cold voice cut through the air, "Where did you get that necklace?"

Niamh snapped back to reality, standing to her feet immediately, "Young Master?"

Ronan's gaze fell upon the necklace, and his eyes widened in recognition, "That symbol, it's the mark of the-," his voice dripped with venom, "You've been in contact with them, haven't you, Pet? You're working with them against me,"

Niamh's heart skipped a beat as Ronan's anger escalated. She knew she couldn't reveal the truth about Cassius, so she hesitated, unsure of what to say, "I-I found it," she stammered.

Ronan's expression darkened, his eyes burning with suspicion, "I know you didn't find it. Someone gave it to you. Who was it?"

Niamh's mind raced as she tried to come up with a convincing story. But before she could speak, Ronan's gaze fell upon the necklace again, and his eyes burned with a mixture of curiosity and suspicion.

"If I decide to make it worse for you, I'll make you curse the first kiss your Father ever gave to your Mother," Ronan declared, his voice cold and hoarse, "And keep this in mind, the necklace shouldn't stay longer on you, or you'll be bound to your greatest fear,"

Niamh's heart skipped a beat as Ronan's words hung in the air like a dark prophecy. She knew she couldn't reveal the truth about Cassius, or risk facing Ronan's wrath.
