Styx House

"But Rai, it would be lots of fun", Amythyst Deloz said as she sank into the couch next to her best friend Morai Styx.

"I already told you, it's not my style" Morai responded as she was getting bored of the current conversation about the upcoming Moon Dance.

"Since when did having fun and being a teen go out of your style." "Come on Morai don't be a grandma"

"Just so you know, my grandma is pretty bad ass." "I just don't count going to a sappy dance as fun"

"Ohh cmon we all know you don't want to go cause no one has asked you out yet", Seraphyne said as she joined the conversation.

"Ohh hey mum junior, this conversation is a little below your age", Morai rolled her eyes as her elder sister got comfy in the couch.

Seraphyne smirked, unfazed by Morai's sarcasm. "Someone's got to keep your illegal ass in check. Besides, I'm just stating facts. You're waiting for someone to ask you out."

Amythyst chimed in, "Yeah, Rai, you can't deny it. You've been so focused on studies and training lately."

"That's because I have goals, unlike some people who only care about parties."

Seraphyne raised an eyebrow. "Goals are great, but you're 17, Morai. It's okay to have fun too."

Amythyst nodded. "Come on, Rai! The Moon Dance will be epic! Live music, magical decorations..."

Morai sighed, shaking her head. "Ohh shut up Amythyst. You're only excited cause of all the boys and free drinks"

Amythyst grinned. "Well, what's wrong with that? You need to lighten up, Rai."

"Amythyst has a point. You've been cooped up in those dusty tomes and training sessions for too long."

"Well I got to go", Amythyst said as she got up to grabbed her purse.

"Need a ride Amy?", Seraphyne asked. "I'm going out, I could drop you off"

"Nope mum junior, I brought my car." "What about you grandma, get your *ss up let's go", Amythyst said as she dragged Morai to her feet.

"Where are we going?", Morai asked as she made her way to her room to change from her biker shorts.

"Ohh you should wear this", Amythyst said as she picked out pink sweatpants and a white cropped tee.

"Didn't you hear the question or you finally got cum in your ears?" Morai said after shoving the pink sweatpants back into her wardrobe and settling for a black denim mini skirt and a matching corset.

"I just need someone to hang out with and do some school shopping with", Amythyst responded as she applied some of Morai's eyeliner.

Morai bent over to wear her black Mary Jane's over her white knee high socks. "Is that a tinge of emotion I hear?" "Why do you do so much shopping, you have tons of clothes. "

"And why do you always choose to dress like you stepped out of a black and white movie."

"Talk to me when you stop dressing like a box of crayons", Morai said as she brushed her long flowy red hair. "Be nice to me, I could cancel right now"

Amythyst pouted, applying another coat of eyeliner. "Fine, I'll behave. But only because I need your expertise in picking out the perfect boots."

Morai smirked, grabbing her black leather jacket. "You mean the perfect boots to match your rainbow-colored outfit."

Amythyst grinned. "Hey, this outfit is iconic. You're just jealous."

As they headed out, Seraphyne called from the couch, "Be back before midnight, Morai. And no trouble."

Morai rolled her eyes. "Yes, mum junior."

Outside, Amythyst's bright yellow sports car gleamed in the sunlight. "Really, you picked the yellow one today?" Morai groaned as she got into the passenger seat. "Looks like a unicorn barf."

"Ohh shut up." Amythyst laughed, starting the engine. "You're just mad because you can't pull off yellow."

Morai smirked. "I can pull off anything, unlike some people's questionable fashion choices."

As they drove off, the city's vibrant streets unfolded before them. Neon signs and billboards illuminated the environment.

"Where's our first stop?" Morai asked, tapping her black Mary Janes against the floor.

"Blooms & Baubles," Amythyst replied, grinning. "I need new accessories for the Moon Dance."

Morai raised an eyebrow. "I thought we were going school shopping. You're really set on this dance, aren't you?"

"Technically, it's school shopping."

"How is buying Moon Dance accessories school shopping?"

Amythyst winked. "We're shopping for the 'school' of social etiquette. And I need to make a statement."

Morai chuckled. "You're impossible."

They arrived at Blooms & Baubles, and Amythyst dragged Morai inside.

Maggie, the owner, greeted them warmly. "Welcome, lovelies! What brings you to Blooms & Baubles?"

Amythyst bounced up. "Moon Dance prep! We need the perfect accessories."

Maggie's eyes sparkled. "Ah, the Moon Dance! I have just the things."

As they browsed, Morai noticed a beautiful, antique-style bracelet.

"What's this?" Morai asked, picking up the bracelet.

Maggy's smile faltered. "Oh, that's... just an old piece. Not for sale.

"Why not?"

Maggy hesitated before responding, "It's... complicated."

Morai raised an eyebrow but dropped the subject, focusing on finding the perfect boots to match Amythyst's "rainbow-colored outfit."

Amythyst tried on several pairs, modeling each for Morai's approval.

"Too sparkly?" Amythyst asked, striking a pose in front of the mirror.

Morai chuckled. "You're asking me? You're the sparkle expert."

Amythyst giggled. "Someone's got to bring some light into this dark, gloomy city."

As they shopped, Amythyst spotted a stunning black choker with a tiny, delicate moonstone pendant.

"Rai, look!" She exclaimed. "Try it on."

Morai hesitated but ultimately put on the choker. The moonstone glimmered against her skin.

"Stunning," Maggy said, smiling. "You should keep it."

Amythyst nodded. "Definitely. It's yours, Rai."

"Ohh please Maggy. You'd say anything to make a sale", Morai said as she delicately removed the choker.

Maggy laughed, "Guilty as charged, dear. But truly, that choker suits you."

Amythyst grinned. "Told you, Rai. You need a little sparkle in your life."

Morai rolled her eyes,"You're going to turn me into a rainbow loving, sparkly disaster."

"That's the plan."

They finalized their purchases and left the shop. They walked to Amythyst's bright yellow sports car, parked nearby.

"Next stop?" Morai asked, settling into the passenger seat.

Amythyst started the engine. "School supply shopping. The boring stuff."

Morai groaned. "Finally, something normal."

As they drove off, Morai noticed a flyer on the windshield.

"Moon Dance: Under the Stars"

Amythyst's eyes sparkled. "Looks like the Moon Dance fever is spreading."

"Fever is the definitely the most appropriate term".

I Slapped My Fiancé-Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis

Being second best is practically in my DNA. My sister got the love, the attention, the spotlight. And now, even her damn fiancé. Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now-billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn't mind. I'd crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one? Wrong. One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That's when it hit me-he didn't love me. He didn't even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn't even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup. So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster-my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise. Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol. Enter him. Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I'd met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes. It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised. But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life. And, as it turned out, the best decision I'd ever made. Because my one-night stand isn't just some random guy. He's richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with. And now, he's not letting me go.

When Love Turns to Ash

My world revolved around Jax Harding, my older brother's captivating rockstar friend. From sixteen, I adored him; at eighteen, I clung to his casual promise: "When you're 22, maybe I'll settle down." That offhand comment became my life's beacon, guiding every choice, meticulously planning my twenty-second birthday as our destiny. But on that pivotal day in a Lower East Side bar, clutching my gift, my dream exploded. I overheard Jax' s cold voice: "Can't believe Savvy's showing up. She' s still hung up on that stupid thing I said." Then the crushing plot: "We' re gonna tell Savvy I' m engaged to Chloe, maybe even hint she' s pregnant. That should scare her off." My gift, my future, slipped from my numb fingers. I fled into the cold New York rain, devastated by betrayal. Later, Jax introduced Chloe as his "fiancée" while his bandmates mocked my "adorable crush"-he did nothing. As an art installation fell, he saved Chloe, abandoning me to severe injury. In the hospital, he came for "damage control," then shockingly shoved me into a fountain, leaving me to bleed, calling me a "jealous psycho." How could the man I loved, who once saved me, become this cruel and publicly humiliate me? Why was my devotion seen as an annoyance to be brutally extinguished with lies and assault? Was I just a problem, my loyalty met with hatred? I would not be his victim. Injured and betrayed, I made an unshakeable vow: I was done. I blocked his number and everyone connected to him, severing ties. This was not an escape; this was my rebirth. Florence awaited, a new life on my terms, unburdened by broken promises.
