As their bond grows stronger, Isabelle must confront the dangers of being different and the threats that lurk in the shadows. Will she find the courage to embrace her true self, or will the weight of her secrets crush her?

Chapter 1 The shattered innocence

She

stood looking at him in the eye, couldn't tell his feelings at the moment, and

felt nothing.

"Tell

him to pick it up, Isabelle," her mother commanded, her voice devoid of

emotion.

Isabelle

looked at Julian with her eyes devoid of any emotions,

"get

your knees off the floor and pick up the pins, Julian."

Julian

knelt on the floor with his eyes glued to Isabelle's,

"Good

Isabelle you'd be a strong woman soon"

Isabelle

looked at her mother with an empty gaze, Lady Arshcroft smiled and left the

room.

Isabelle

watched as Julian picked up the pins, noticing the blood streaming from his

knees.

"Clean

it up when you're done Julian," she said with a little pity.

***

Isabella

Arshcroft the last daughter of Sir Gabriel Arshcroft the High Chancellor of

Ravenswood.

The

wealthy and almost perfect family with three daughters.

Isabelle

was the prettiest, her hair as black as a raven, her empty blue eyes, and her

skin almost as white as the snow, She knew fully well she was envied by her

sisters but didn't care.

The

18-year-old had shown no feelings since the day she was born, which was

strange, but she was still her father's favorite because of her vast erudition

and profound intellect."

Isabella

cared about nothing and everyone in the village thought she was perfect but

that's not it.

***

"Mom

it hurts" Julian growled in pain

"I'm

so sorry you have to pass through this" Mrs Erica said with tears.

"It's

alright Mother things will be better soon"

Julian's

mother worked as a maid for the Arshcroft with her son.

Julian

was just 2 years old when his dad left them to their fate and since then

Julian's mother started working with the Arshcrofts to make earnings.

Julian

was already grown so he understood the situation and never caused trouble or

complained but deep down he hated the Arshcroft for some reason, Isabelle was

an exception he didn't hate nor did he like her.

The

21-year-old was admired by most of the girls in the kingdom notwithstanding his

background, his eyes were as brown as a rich mahogany, warm and inviting with

the masculine body structure that struck hearts like a bolt of enchantment

leaving admires spellbound to his wake.

***

"Isabelle

shouldn't you be in your room" Marie asked giving her a scornful glare

Isabelle

looked at her and smirked.

"Didn't

you hear her?" Charlotte

Isabelle

looked into Charlotte's eyes and spoke,

"

And who do you think you are to give me orders?"

Marie looked stunned, before she could say a word Isabelle stood and

interrupted

" I

do not like the presence of filthy and frivolous people so you can have room

for yourself," she said walking away.

"How

dare you ?" Charlotte asked in so much disgust

Isabelle

cared less and walked towards the garden.

"I'll

make her pay for this" Marie whispered through gritted teeth, her voice

trembling in rage.

***

Isabelle

spotted a Black rose immediately after she entered the garden, she moved closer

to it, lured to touch it,

"Don't

do that you'll hurt yourself"
