Chapter 1 1

Jason Dawson.

I sat by myself at the bar, sipping a glass of really good scotch. The cozy, dimly lit lounge at the Ritz-Carlton had a fancy and exclusive feel to it. This place was my favorite spot, a retreat where I could step away from the pressures of my busy life and enjoy a bit of peace.

As I swirled the golden liquid in my glass, the weight of my responsibilities started to lift. The stress of closing big deals worth millions of dollars and the constant pressure to uphold my family's reputation faded into the background. Here, in this quiet sanctuary, I could forget it all. This was my escape.

But then, everything changed when she walked in.

A young woman, clearly drunk, stumbled and almost fell to the ground. Without thinking, I rushed over to help her, grabbing her arms to keep her from falling.

"Are you okay?" I asked, giving her a friendly, concerned smile.

"I'm fine, I'm fine..." she slurred, looking up at me with dazed eyes. "I just need another drink..."

I led her to the bar and helped her sit on the stool next to mine. Now that I was closer, I noticed she was quite attractive-she had long brown hair, full lips, and a figure that filled out her tight dress perfectly. There was something about her vulnerability and tipsy state that caught my attention.

"Let me get you some water instead," I suggested, signaling to the bartender. "I think you've had enough to drink for one night."

She pouted a bit but didn't argue as I set a glass of water in front of her. As she sipped it slowly, I took the chance to observe her features more closely. She had a delicate beauty, but there was also a toughness around her eyes, as if she had faced challenges in her life.

"I'm Jason, by the way," I said, extending my hand toward her.

"Sarah," she replied, shaking my hand gently.

After that, we fell into a relaxed conversation. My natural charm and confidence seemed to put her at ease. I learned that she was in town for work and had come to the hotel bar to relax after a long day full of meetings. Somehow, she had ended up drinking way more than she had planned.

As we talked, Sarah started to become more animated, her inhibitions clearly fading because of the alcohol. She leaned in closer to me, fluttering her eyelashes and occasionally resting her hand on my arm. I could feel the tension building between us; there was a spark of attraction growing stronger.

Without really thinking about it, I suggested we continue our conversation in a more private place. "My suite is just upstairs," I whispered, brushing my hand against her back. "It's much more comfortable than this busy bar."

Sarah hesitated for just a second, then nodded slowly. "Okay," she said softly.

Hand in hand, we made our way to the elevators, stumbling a little as we walked. The tension between us was electric; we were both buzzing with excitement. When we finally reached my suite, I quickly unlocked the door and ushered her inside, pulling her into my arms the moment the door clicked shut behind us.

Our kiss was passionate and urgent, all of our restraint melting away as our bodies pressed together. I guided her backwards toward the bed, my hands exploring her curves while she sighed softly against my lips. The softness of the sheets enveloped us as we fell onto the mattress, the world outside fading into nothing.

In that moment, everything felt perfect. I could feel the warmth of her body against mine, the way her skin felt soft beneath my fingers. I traced my hands along her waist, feeling her breath quicken as I kissed her deeper. She responded eagerly, her hands tangling in my hair, pulling me closer as if she couldn't get enough.

The air was thick with desire, and every touch ignited a fire between us. As I held her close, I could feel her heart racing, matching my own. It was as if time stood still, and nothing else mattered except for the two of us lost in our own world. The intimacy of the moment wrapped around us like a warm blanket, making me forget everything else.

Afterward, as we lay tangled in the sheets, a strange sense of calm washed over me. I couldn't remember the last time I felt so satisfied and content. There was something about Sarah that drew me in, a charm that I couldn't quite understand.

I turned to look at her, taking in how the early morning light streamed through the curtains, casting a soft glow on her face. She looked peaceful, her features relaxed as she slept. A small smile appeared on my lips as I reached out to tuck a loose strand of hair behind her ear, feeling a tenderness I hadn't expected.

But just as quickly as this calm feeling had settled in, it was broken. Sarah stirred, her eyes fluttering open as she took in her surroundings. I watched as the realization hit her, her expression shifting from confusion to shock.

"Oh no, what have I done?" she whispered, quickly sitting up and starting to gather her clothes.

I propped myself up on one elbow, completely confused by her reaction. "What's wrong?" I asked, reaching out toward her.

She flinched away from my touch, her eyes wide with fear. "I...I can't be here. I have to go."
