Keysa Oathword. An ordinary woman who hates furry creatures. While visiting her best friend Reeny, Keysa noticed an explosion in the cat's eye. However, the explosion was no ordinary explosion. Vaguely, Keysa could see another world in the explosion. After that incident, Keysa felt different than usual. Keysa felt being watched by someyhing. Until the next night, Keysa was reunited with the cat outside her bedroom window in a floating state. The worst part was that the cat could even talk. Shocked by this fact and the cat's insistence on coming with her to another world, Keysa fell out of the window. As soon as Keysa looked back into the cat's golden yellow eyes, the moment she opened her eyes, Keysa was in another world. A sweet, fairytale-like world filled with furry creatures.

Chapter 1 Prologue

I opened my eyes as fast as I could. That feeling of being cared for was back again. I can even feel the heat on my back. As soon as I opened my eyes, I immediately noticed my window. I gasped. Again, the shadows in my window seemed so real. However, when I blinked, the creature disappeared.

I paused as I watched the window open again. The night wind came in and greeted my skin until the hairs on my neck swelled. Cold. I didn't like the cold at all. I still feel wary but I force myself to walk toward the window. The window must be closed.

"Looks like this window is getting old" I muttered as I locked the window.

After locking the window, I once again made sure the window was locked. It had been that way since I was little. The window often opened by itself with shadows that scared me to spend time alone in the room. I was a big girl now. I can't bother my mother anymore even though I'm scared right now. Mom has been working overtime lately.

In the end, I went back to bed. I pulled my blanket up to my neck then turned towards the wall hugging my bolster. I was fine. I had been through it all this time and I can get past this one too. after all, so far nothing happened. As I was almost asleep, I heard the sound of the door opening.

That's my mother! My mother was an editor. Mother always took the time to check on my condition after coming home from overtime. I could hear my mother's tired footsteps. I stayed silent. If she knew I was awake, she would have a chat with me. Mother stroked my hair gently. Mother's caress managed to make me sleepy and brought me back to the edge of my dreamland. At the edge of my consciousness, I began to hear my mother's voice.

"I don't understand, Key! Your grandma is always like that!" Mother complained.

Mother and Grandma did not have a good relationship. I lived with my mother since I was little. My father disappeared when I was 5 years old. As far as I remember, Mom and Dad never divorced. However, the relationship between mother and grandmother has not been good since then. They would argue when I wasn't around and then shut up when I saw them arguing. Even though I miss Dad, I didn't ask anything. Mother spoke first. Father had business and one day he would come back to us. Unfortunately, I didn't know when that one day would happen. However, I know my mother loves me very much. Just as my mother stood up for me, I will also stand up for my mother.

Mother would sing songs while I slept. Songs that I didn't understand the meaning of or what language they were. If you ask how could my mother speak another language? My mother was a linguist. She knew at least five languages. Sometimes, mothers even become editors of writers from other countries and even become translators. I always wanted to ask about the meaning of the song. However, every time I heard that song, I was always attacked by tremendous drowsiness. The next day, I completely forgot about it and always forgot to ask.

My mother's singing carried me away. Slowly, the fear of the shadow disappeared and drifted away from me. The reason I had always been able to survive this long from the shadows is my mother's song. Mother has a sweet and soothing voice like the plucking of a harp. In the end, my mother's singing brought me back to dreamland.

"Key" my mother called. "One day, you will know..."

But I don't listen anymore. I had plunged into the world of my dreams.
