Chapter 1 Death and rebirth

"Hey, don't do that. Please hold on for at least a few more seconds, I'm right behind you." I shouted to Xia Yunxi, but it seemed she never heard my voice.

She summoned every dark energy within the four walls of the Mythical school around herself. In the twinkling of an eye, she blew herself up. She doesn't deserve such an end but then, I blame myself for being in seclusion for too long, leaving her to face the enemies alone.

My knees went soft at the sight of the woman I loved commits suicide. Xia Yunxi, the Lord of the Mythical school has been known to be one of the top ranking masters in Blue Hill, I couldn't believe all those who plotted against her would snatch the opportunity while I was away to kill her.

Out of heartfelt pain and anger, with my eyes red hot, I could feel my body unleash my inner energy. With the sudden burst of it, everyone in the scene was sent flying.

I swayed the long heaven grade sword refined by Yunxi herself. With my uncontrolled energy, it destroyed the gate of the chamber. I was just too angry to take note of everyone that forced Yunxi to commit suicide.

Everyone escaped but I can tell, they all had internal injuries and damages enough to make their cultivation level drop, damages that could even cut their life span short if not treated by the best doctor in the whole of Blue Hill.

"My lord, these are the scrolls you requested." My best student said to me with a worried look.

I turned to collect the scrolls but he was reluctant to let them go. "What is wrong with you Luo?" I spoke with a calm voice, calm enough to send chills down anyone's spine. As the Lord of the Mystery clan and the number one practitioner in Blue Hill, I never talked too much but every one of my words carries a different energy.

"My lord, this is an ancient forbidden magic, it's against the will of the heavens, since the ancient times, nobody has ever succeeded in the act, not even the mage who wrote the book." He knelt down while he pleaded for me to let go.

I stared at him with my icy gaze. "Don't you trust your master enough?"

"I trust you with my life, but this is an act nobody has ever succeeded in, the scroll is not even complete, we only have a piece of it, there might be some vital information in the lost parts, you can't be rash my lord." He pleaded.

I let out a smirk while I turned my face to the other side. "I don't need the rest of the scroll."

He intended to plead further but I gestured for him to go because his plea was never going to change my decision. I have decided to put Yunxi's soul into the reincarnation wheel, where she would be reborn with her memories complete.

Two days later, I instructed Luo and others of my trusted elders to keep my disappearance a secret if I mistakenly lost my life to the process. Since they couldn't make me change my mind, they had to stand by me.

In the middle of my chamber, they created the ninth tier array around me to prevent energy from leaking out. I sat with my legs crossed while I chanted divine incantations I memorized from the ancient scroll. I chanted the incantations for more than an hour which means, my elders stood for more than an hour as they injected energy into the array continuously.

In the heat of the moment, I seemed to lose track of what was happening in the outside world. My hand uncontrollably lifted the short carved wooden sword close to me. According to the ancient scroll, the wooden sword was meant to slash my soul, divide it into three pieces, my body, to have two pieces while the other part goes to Xia Yunxi's soul and guides it into the wheel of reincarnation. That part with her is what I could use to track her once she's reborn. As fate would have it, things never went as planned.

Defying heaven's will truly comes with great consequences. As my hands lifted the sword, it stayed still for a moment but just then, the sword gave a mild glow, then a bright light like lightning which forcefully moved my hands down directly to my heart.

It actually slashed my soul as it was meant to be but it also cut through my heart. I tried my best to cling to consciousness but the lightning from the sword was piercing through every one of my veins, it was still very much bearable since I am a practitioner who was born with all attributes, including lightning.

My vision got blurry with every passing second. With fear of losing me, my elders injected more energy, and with the help of their pure refined energy, I managed to stand up, but I didn't last long as I felt a stronger heavenly force pulled me down, it pierced through my brain like it was going to possess me. That was the worst feeling ever. Like it wasn't enough, I felt another force piercing through my whole body like god relic needles.

The pains were just too much. "I'm truly sorry Yunxi, I failed." Those were my last words as I finally closed my eyes in regret.

No, I never regretted my actions, at least I gave it a try. The only thing I regretted was failure to protect the woman I love, failure to make her reincarnate.

Indeed the heavens can't be cheated.

At the Dark tribe, Kai, a three year old boy lost his father in a tense fight for justice. It was said that his mother died immediately after his birth.

He heard the news of his father's death from the king's men. He couldn't hold back his tears, he grabbed his father's cloak with his little hands and ran into the icy region, there he walked for several days in search of a new home, but he was just a child.

The ruler of the Dark tribe sent men to bring back little Kai, the ruler truly adores the little boy because at his tender age, he possessed great strength. The men were a little too late, they found Kai's body in a pond in the icy region. Four elders injected pure energy into him since they could feel his heart breathing slowly, indeed the process worked out but this time around it was a different soul in Kai's body.

Seventeen years later.

At the kingdom of Eldon, princess Aurora who was the first daughter of King Shalom and Queen Isabella was on a walk in the palace to clear her head from her disturbing thoughts. She heard her name from a very familiar voice, turning back, it was her younger sister, princess Latifah who hated her so much.

"Oh dear Aurora, what are you doing walking at this part of the palace?" Latifah questioned.

"I know you despise me so much, but that doesn't stop me from walking wherever I want." Aurora replied.

"I see, you've gotten quiet some nerves." Latifah smiled like the devil as she sent needles directly to Aurora with the aim of just scaring and oppressing her. Though Aurora is the first child, she lack skills due to her weak physique which gives Latifah the opportunity to always bully her.

As Aurora tried to dodge the needles, she lost her balance and fell directly to the pond close by. Out of fear, Latifah quickly ran away.

Before Aurora was discovered by the palace guards, it was too late as she died already. They tried reviving her and of course she came back to life but with a different soul.
